Why people saying he got what he deserved? What the fuck, he was just a man with the dream of being a good journalist. He did NOT deserve any of this this...
MUIGaryuu said: Osanai clearly states whats wrong with him this episode. He's very shortsighted and high on himself. He's quick to dismiss others efforts and credits himself for everything. He thought it was all his own work when Osanai was feeding him info and helping behind the scenes. In her words he isn't very bright and too hung up on himself. It was only about him for him. He never stopped to think about the consequences on others untill Dojima pointed it out and stepped down to do so. After becoming president he involved even more people into the mess all so he could take credit for catching the arsonist. Imagine what would happen if one of those kids got caught suspected to be the arsonist.(They ran before after finding the fire cause he knows what would happen if they get caught). Why people saying he got what he deserved? Journalist =/= detective Osanai repeatedly hints that he should check his own ego but boy bit more than he can chew. She knew he only has the quality of being a journalist/ordinary/side chara but he went deep into playing detective/special/mc with toddler level deduction skills. He got what he deserved because he uses “evidence” to support his own conspiracy theories while assuming things left and right. This is equivalent to those people who act smart but are actually just loud and clueless. While I feel bad for him, there’s definitely some schadenfreude in seeing arrogant people being put in their places. |

| I was wondering what was the point Nakamaru's character in the series, overall she didn't seem to be doing a lot (except who knows she still could be the arsonist?). I think the point was to again show the stark difference between Kobato and Osanai. Both have been wronged by their partners, but they dealt with this very differently. Kobato was above it all "why bother, the issue will probably sort itself out", and it did. On the contrary Osanai spared no effort in dealing with him, just like what Kobato said in season 1 how Osanai used to be in the past: I would say Osanai actually tried to make the relationship work, and helped him in various ways, like getting him the school newspaper column he so much wanted, but Urino messed things up in episode 3 by becoming way too overconfident. Just like in season 1, Osanai "didn't do anything wrong", she just created the perfect conditions, but in the end, it was the gang who decided to kidnap her, if they were acting like normal people they wouldn't have gotten caught in the trap. This time it is the same, if Urino was so madly in love with her, it wouldn't even cross his mind that she was the arsonist, or if it did he would speak to her about it or something. But Urino got so engulfed in the arsonist case that he placed it above his relationship with Osanai, he was fully prepared based on circumstantial evidence to bring her down and finish his "grand work", the arsonist column series by revealing her as Fireman, destroying her social life. |

| @keyl25 yeah this was such a cool moment, they were weirdly cheerful (for being in a dangerous situation), like two long lost friends meeting again, where else if not at a crime scene and Kobato's first question too wasn't "WTF is going on??", but "have you grown taller?" plus the fact that neither could have done it without the other, Kobato didn't have the tools and Osanai the reach, together they really make the perfect team |

| The episode 6th is bringing the close call for arsonist arc what awaits ahead will be exciting to keep an eye on. Manm Osanai really got sharp toungh right there "I'm not saying I've lost faith in you, though. After all, I never had much to begin with." this definitely broke the bro from the inside out. | I have a FEW words I need to say about this episode recalling the previous episodes — Osanai warned Urino to get his ass out about the arson happening, but he didn't want to give up and wanted to show off his ego to her. He even desperately wanted to kiss her badly. However, Osanai prevented him from doing it and got deadly eyes at him while smiling. That scene scared shit out of me. Now, this episode, the scene where Osanai obliterated him is something I didn't expect which I must be expecting in the first place, but beyond my thoughts. She did not just destroy his confidence because he confidently accused her as a arsonist but also she tremendously destroyed his entire fucking soul. LIKE BRO, she has been sadistic since season 1, but compared it to this scene — is much worse and I think Urino learned a lesson that being a journalist is a big big difference from being a detective. Welp it's a good thing that Osanai mentioned in this scene that she was helping him the entire time to catch the arsonist without him knowing. "I'm not saying I lost faith in you, After all I never had much to begin with" that line destroyed everything about him To also include, Jogoro questioning her while smiling is fucking psychopathic. I got the feeling that questioning me while him smiling like that in a tense situation — I might get scared or something that might pressure me. But I'm glad that Jogoro and Osanai talk again for almost a year. Jogoro is a psychopathic while Osanai is sadistic — and both are just fucking manipulators. this is my Anime of the Season ABSOLUTE CINEMA |๐| |

| @Marinate1016 I would argue the exact opposite. They would keep each other mostly in check by focussing on each other and not involving other people recklessly. Only they can keep up with each other, at the very least we haven't seen anyone else capable of doing so. To a certain extent perhaps Dojima, but iIMO this is simply because they respect him as a "friend". If they are left alone, even starting off with good intentions in their relationship with others you can see what happens in the end of this and last epsiode: Kobato was an indiffrent asshole to his gf, while Osanai was disasembling Urino so thoroughly bro couldn't even stand straight. I don't even think they comprehend how malicious this is to an "ordinary" person. They aren't only "unordinary" because they are somewhat smarter than the average person, but because they seemingly exhibit certain psychopathic tendencies as seen this season. Only they tehmselves are able to accept each other. Even Dojima can't fully accept Kobato which honestly shocked me more than Osanais destruction of Urino lol. To sum up my view of them both: The opposite of love isn't hate it's indifference and I think both Kobato and Osanai exhibit different aspects of this throughout season 2. This is what hurts those arround them and what prompted them to change in the first place (season 1). |

| Apothecary and Shoushimin giving me a cliff hanger in back to back nights is brutal. I think Osanai intentionally left clues for Orino to suspect her. And I think "fireman" is someone who's a recurring character in the series. I suspect it's Orino's best friend, but we'll see. Can't wait for Episode 7! Hope they do their dialogue in Shaft's style or specifically, Monogatari style, like what they've done in Season 1 of the series. |

| Is this show getting too... disturbing? It's like I'm watching a couple of sociopaths bullying the dumb people around them. And judging by the MC's dialogue with a number of characters, even the people in the universe find them very strange and disturbing. So, was that the original intent? @Kerlyk Me too, lmao. It's like the author deliberately wanted to convey the feeling of intellectual humiliation of the character. |

| This episode was a masterclass in building tension and giving the audience a satisfying pay-off. Even though we still don't have the identity of the arsonist, Osanai's character assassination of Urino was so morbidly enjoyable (in a very twisted way) that it still feels like the episode gave us what we had been waiting for. I was disappointed at first, because I thought maybe they were actually going with Wolf girl as the culprit, but I should've known better. Still, I don't think she had to actually murder Urino's psyche the way she did, that was a little overboard, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't enjoyable from a narrative standpoint. Now I can't wait to see if it actually is Urino's friend. If it is, that'll be the final nail in his coffin, and the poor guy should be put on watch so he doesn't hurt himself. |

| God damn okay we gotta wait till next episode to see Kobato break down what really happened with Osanai. Urino had a huge head and was doing a lot of stupid stuff, so a lot of her criticism is valid, but the way in which it unfolded over a 10 month period was overly cruel. That's why these two sociopaths should just stick together lol. Even Doujima was basically like "you're a fucking psychopath and I don't really like you" straight to Kobato. |

| The intention was to humiliate him, not to kill him with words. “I never expected anything from you"-those words could destroy anyone. Well, that's not an exaggeration, considering Osanai's personality. It was had that the main characters “date” ordinary people to go unnoticed and not draw attention to themselves, since their attempt to suppress each other in the previous season didn't work. From the beginning, she thought to help him with his camouflage, to help him stand out a bit, to feel proud of “his own” accomplishments. I think it was also a smart move so that if he stands out, she doesn't stand out as much. It's similar to why Kobato didn't dump the girl who cheated on him, “If everyone already knows she's a bitch, then I'm just another guy getting played.” Same strategy, but the fox (Kobato) was passive, while the she-wolf (Osanai) was active, operating from the shadows. The problem is that all of Osanai's “good intentions” to help Urino shine went out the window the moment he tried to kiss her out of jealousy towards Kengo, for no reason. She never loved him and would never love him. I would say she probably even felt disgust. And since she was the one who set up the whole shebang to make him feel confident and special, putting him on the spot just to make him look like a fool was the easiest thing to do. It wasn't extra effort, just a “small” punishment for a cover up that didn't follow her plan. I don't like Urino; someone had to take him down a peg or two. But imagine thinking you're dating the girl you like, thinking you're good at something, and then finding out it was all part of someone else's boredom and manipulation. Now Kobato the fox and Osanai the she-wolf are back together. I can't wait to see how that conversation plays out and who turns out to be the real arsonist. |

Kali_85 said: Why are so many people happy that Osanai was so cruel to Urino? He did absolutely nothing to deserve it. He kind of did, though. A lot of what Osanai said to Urino is actually true. He's always been full of himself and in general just unpleasant to be around. He constantly antagonizes the club members to get his way, often looking down on them and bossing them around. He thinks his investigation somehow makes him important and better than everyone, which is what his attempted kiss was really about and actually made me cringe. When he hears something he doesn't want to hear, he paints them as jealous or not having faith in him (ironic). He has no regard for consequences and for other people's situations and feelings, and he only got by because his friend gave him some good advice and Doujima the club president constantly tried to smooth things over. He has no regard even for people's (or his own) safety, as he runs around town in the dead of night thinking he can catch an actual criminal. And finally, he's not even as good as he thinks he is. He worked hard, yes, but Osanai points out how he interpreted and even changed details of the case in whatever way he preferred. And we the viewer already know that he's just an ordinary human compared to Osanai or Kobato, which makes his antics even more annoying. Maybe the punishment was far too severe, and Osanai had malicious intent, but he got what was coming to him. Kali_85 said: Why are so many people hoping to see Kobato and Osanai together? Personally I'm just interested in what the two of them will get up to. Especially after the "falling out" they had at the end of Season 1. I don't think they're good for each other, no. I want to see what happens when they get together, though. I think a lot of people do. By the way, I don't think the show is trying to paint Osanai as a good person. Not at all. She is a monster, but one I find entertaining. I also didn't like her that much at first, but she grew on me. But it's fair if you still don't want to see a character like that in an anime. |

| I actually think that Osanai had some involvement in the fires outside of just trying to help to catch the arsonist. The fact that the van which was set on fire was the exact same one that was used in her "kidnapping" is too convenient just to be purely by chance. I believe that she was somehow manipulating the arsonist (who I still am leaning towards Urino's friend Hiya or possibly his older brother who had the schedule) to start the arsons until he set the van on fire, then things got out of her control and so she's been working ever since to try to catch the arsonist. This is a long wait to see the whole story, but Osanai's takedown of Urino this episode was worth an extra episode wait for (hopefully) the full reveal. Just brutal. |
