The Losing Heroines Contest!! The idea for this contest came from the very obvious inspiration- Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines. It made me realize just how many heroines out there never get chosen by their love interest, always on the second string and left behind T_T. Not only they lose in their own stories, but also, they often lose in fan polls, tournaments, and popularity contests too. Yet, deep down, many of us want them to win, we cheer for them, and wish they had a happy ending. So, "โค๏ธ๐ฉน The Losing Heroines Contest" is an appreciation contest of all the beloved losing heroines. Entry Rule Nominate any heroine you like (maximum of 1 nomination per person) from the anime universe, as long as they meet the criteria outlined in the 'Allowed (โ )' section. If the male MC is denser than a black hole (which is a common case in anime) and doesn’t choose anyone by the end, it becomes difficult to define who truly "lost" or was "left behind." In those cases, no one really wins, the girls aren’t exactly "losing heroines," just eternally waiting. Plus, leaving things unresolved often causes a drop in audience engagement, which most authors tend to avoid if they have any solid plan in mind. For the Losing Heroines Contest, the key requirement is that there’s at least one girl who was clearly chosen by the MC, or the story made it obvious who the MC’s feelings leaned toward. That way, we can identify who got left behind, the true losing heroines. |

| @AnimePedestrian Astolfo might fit the “losing heroine” archetype, the term “heroine” traditionally refers to female characters. Since Astolfo is canonically male, even if he presents in a feminine way, he wouldn’t count. You can nominate another heroine. |
