Why? Because Yusuke is such a jerk! I don't like shows with the main character being a jerk. In the first episode, he literally lifts a girl's panties and is a jerk to so many people and that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I also hate how in the show, he's a jerk just in general and has a really bad temper. I also don't like the show, because it's very scary, violent, bloody, and gory. I also don't like how Yusuke basically makes fun of Koenma and how Hiei treats Kuwabara like dirt and how Kuwabara acts violent with Hiei. In fact, all four of the heroes are basically jerks or delinquents or awful people. I just find this show incredibly unpleasant and even though it's not popular anymore, I find it incredibly overrated because so many people in their 30s love this show. I'm posting about this because like many series (like Demon Slayer and Dandadan nowadays), I honestly don't get why it ever became popular. It's such a mean-spirited, violent series

I'm sorry, I just hate this show because i'm sensitive to violence and there's lots of punching, kicking, and gruesome imagery in the show. I don't like violent shows, because they make me act violent myself and that's not good for my mental health

Huge YYH fan here. It's my favourite battle shounen. Most people are able to be entertained by fictional violence, myself very much included, but it sounds like you aren't. And that's fine. Just stick to watching whatever entertains you or makes you comfortable. No one's forcing it on you.
Take care of yourself

Well let's say there is a character development later on where he was kind people Not all people are born kind other are mean-spirited but they need to learn what to be a grow up that why they demographics to boy teens what it means to be grown up from a kid to mature mind.

I mean you don't need to force yourself to like it since I also fan of ghost Fighter (I watch the Tagalog dub)

if you willing to open list I can recommend you a non violent anime shows and magical girls if your okay with it.

It was good until the last arc.

Did we really need two tournament arcs?

Unfortunately violence and sex sell. Not sure why you would watch something like yuyu in the first place if any sort of violence offends you and affects your mental health. You just described 90 percent of the shonen genre, not the jerk, but the punching and kicking.

Watch what makes you happy. I'm guessing you just had to vent. If you have mental health issues venting helps, I know first hand. Take a breath, relax and watch some slice of life or good old fashion family fantasy like Totoro.

the entire point of the main cast is that they are "jerks" but not actually jerks at all and actually very kind hearted. like doesn't yusuke literally save some kid in ep 1
getting jummed

I agree that Yu Yu Hakusho is overrated, but seriously, get a grip. Its fictional. You can like problematic or morally grey characters for their quality of writing. Sure, I wouldn't like Yusuke in real life, but as a fictional MC, he is good enough.

Yes, we all get it, you don't like violence and gore and certain character archtypes, fair enough, everyone has different taste

Matter of fact i don't like Quintessential Quintuplets, Kaiji, Suzumiya Haruhi, and Tenchi Muyou for the same reason of not being able to stand one or more MCs, to me they come off as creeps or bullies or both, or in Kaiji's case, utterly imbecillic, and i loath these types of characters and don't want to see a show that revolves around them, that simple

Personally i think there's more to the 4 MCs in YYH, but to each their own, sometimes a character can make or break a show, and it's not gonna be the same for everyone

Though i do advise, if a violent show is influencing you to act violent, i'd see someone about it

Another thing that I hate about the show is how it has a lot of yelling. The characters yell a lot in that show. Yusuke yells a lot, the villains yell and it makes me very stressed and uncomfortable

@Mew2000 I love YYH, but if someone hates this series it's okay, it's not anyone's cup I understand.

But traumatized by it? sorry but that's pretty funny to me I'm about to burst laughing due to how ridiculous it sounds, the anime isn't even some gory stuff like Higurashi it's just some 90s battle shounen show :D

It's the honest truth that i'm traumatized by the series. It scared me heavily during certain scenes and there was a lot of blood and punching and kicking and screaming. I'm sorry i'm a pathetic weakling!

24 years old. I don't watch violent shows at all anymore after realizing I couldn't take this stuff. I'm just venting about violent shonen anime that were popular at one point or another. I might even next do venting on Fullmetal Alchemist or One Piece or Naruto. I haven't seen any recent shonen action anime (the "newest" one i've seen is like My Hero Academia)

As a dude, I think Yusuke is a pretty likable delinquent. The only part of him I do not like is when he simps over some girl he barely knows.

The show is not that difficult to watch, you're just hating kid. I've heard of more unwatchable adaptations like Madame Web. 100% unwatchable, even in Marvel standards.

A better, more realistic overall representation of supernatural powers than SAO being a representation of online games (the light novelist did no research on early mmorpgs making him a noob and thus, making a very inaccurate depiction of mmorpgs since 2004 and mmorpgs predate that unrealistic portrayal).

Togashi did better than I expected such characterizing supernatural powers. You can't deny what he characterized, admit it.

How many times did you watch or read YYH?

Also, you can make yourself an indie comic revolving around supernatural powers, ki energy, death, afterlife, belonging, redemption, second chances, etc.

Good luck competing with indie comic writers though, but we'd love to see such a little boy try and play with the big boys. Let's see if you can write a better graphic novel exploring similar themes to YYH.

Chances are, I'll bet against you.

I'm a YYH fan but i get it why you don't like YYH which is understandable since it fell off after the tournament arc and is quite action packed and not all people like that
I recommend you check out some slice of life shows from the 80s and 90s like Little Women,Romeo's Blue Skies,The Trapp Family Story,Akage no Anne,From the Appenines to the Andes,A Dog of Flanders,The Swiss Family Robinson you may like these since they're not battle shounens and don't have any violence

If it’s bad for your mental health, don’t watch it. I completely understand refusing to watch shows with content you don’t like, I do the same with a LOT of anime. However if seeing violent pieces of media makes you violent, I HIGHLY advise seeing someone. It’s not good for your health and can genuinely be dangerous.

But I would like to mention Yusuke is a character with a bunch of character development. He can be a jerk, he’s a delinquent after all, but over time, you see him grow and change and he’s genuine one of the most realistic anime protagonists in my opinion
