Terrible or mediocre seasons with a single amazing episode or great seasons with a single horrendous episode
| Seasons of anime that in your opinion had a really big exception that sort of doesn't belong with the true quality of the overall content. Terrible season with an amazing episode: I would probably say Re:Zero S1 or Golden Boy. For me Golden Boy is probably one of the worst 3 seasons I've ever watched, but I thought that the last ep was actually a pretty good way to end the show and the only part of the anime I actually enjoyed. So the difference is pretty staggering as the 6th ep is probably a 7/10 and the rest of the show is something more like a 1 or 2 at best. Regarding the 1st season of Re:Zero, I don't think it is nearly as terrible as Golden Boy, but I do think the difference between ep 15 and the rest of the 25 episodes is genuinely insane. The whole season is really, really boring for me and then without warning it drops one of the greatest episodes of all time, only to go back to mediocrity after that. Great season with a horrendous episode: episode 4 of Gurren Lagann is pretty bad, so that could be a good option. Probably Wonder Egg Priority because the last ep (the special one that was released months after the og season) is much worse than the rest of it. The 2nd ep of Blue Lock S2 is so badly animated that it is a good shout as well. |

| I never like the anime titled the Wallflower, though I do remember an episode leading towards the end that actually was very emotional and sentimental. Something I never thought I'd feel about the enemy in general. |

- Binbogami ga! - has the best bath episode and insert song in anime
- High School Of The Dead - i can't not say it's very creative physics were extreamly entertaining
- Land Of The Lustrouse - very adorable slug is adopted by Phos
- Madoka Magica - battle between magical girls
GOAT season 1 shite episode
- Clannad After Story - ep. 18 flushed any re-watcheability value down the toilet, i sold my Clannad AS DVD boxset because of this, for more details click here -> SPOILERS
- Cyberpunk Edgerunners - great series rushed ending
- Fruits Basket (2019) s1 - not utter shite but admittendly i was dozing off a bit on the Arisa focused ep.
- Given - not quite an episode, but movie 2 has really put me off the franchise
- Planetes - not really a shit episode overall but a very dumb character desicion, in short Tanabe's an idiot

| Mid anime - Great episode: Honey Lemon Soda - Episode 11: A prime example of how a completely different directing style can impact an episode and pull out a maximum from a limited budget. Great anime - Bad episode: Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt - Episode 11 Part A: Was a recap filler and did offer nothing aside from off screen yuri incest by Scanty & Kneesocks. Paranoia Agent - Episode 8 (about 3 people trying to commit group suicide): The episode on it's own is actually pretty good. The comedic undertone, however, does not go well with the general atmosphere of the anime. |

| It's a tough question for me to answer, since I don't really consider individual episodes on their own. And even if an episode's exceptionally good or bad, my feelings towards it tends to get "corrected" towards how I feel about the overall show. The only thing that comes to mind right now is the hot chocolate episode of Shoushimin Series S1, which was an infuriating episode in a decent (not great) season. The show revels in slow, low-stakes mysteries (it's the Hyouka author, after all), but that episode was far too self-indulgent and unsatisfying that it almost made me drop the show. |

| @WaterMage No, things were sketchy starting in ep 11 (like you could tell the mood was off), but the SA only started in the second half of ep 12. The SA didn't lower my opinion of the show because I thought it made Robin a great villain in the story and it recontextualized a big part of the first episodes of the show (a great villain not a great person lol, I HATE him for what he did) and it makes Kituko's character have an interesting kind of character arc, but it is a really heavy scene and whenever people don't like watching that type of stuff and it makes them hate the show I completely understand. |

Great Shows with terrible episode: There's an episode of Dororo and I forget which one, where they obviously rushed to get it out the door. Just one episode, it's a mess. Rest of the entire show is brilliant. |
| Love Live Superstar Season 2. An absolute mess of a season that all of a sudden concludes with the perfect ending to Kanon's story in the last two episodes...which they almost ruin with the stupidest cliffhanger imaginable that's only redeemed by them finally committing to it in Season 3 anyway. It's the only part of the entire season that feels pre-planned as a natural extension of the Season 1 story and not slapped together in a rush, and even then they still added a bunch of extraneous bullshit to it. Blue Reflection Ray is similar. Convoluted, slow-paced, poorly explaned, melodramatic mess that would make Kingdom Hearts blush in the first 22 episodes, only to conclude with a very cool final two episodes that's a loving RPG final dungeon homage. A guilty pleasure, certainly. |
