Miwa isn’t the ideal likable girl character, but she adds a comedic effect with her whole “dark room” thing.

I get the feeling that Akihiro knows Sakurako’s secret about MuuMuu being an alien, since he has one himself, and his knowledge of electronics is something else. I doubt he has much electronics at home with how much he struggles.

Sonoko must be worried after learning that Wataru was hospitalized. Might see more of her next week, and the dude’s really unbothered by the hole in his forehead.

Nah, MuuMuu, now you're just being irritating—even after Sakurako didn’t scold or get mad at you for dismantling all those electronics. And now you’re talking about inconvenience when you were the one who caused it, only for it to get fixed again?

Miwa was funny this episode with her imagining that Sakurako and Akihiro were doing something naughty in a dark room but i still dont really see what Miwa adds to the show except maybe comic relief.

People in this series can sometimes be comically dumb, Akihiro...dude doesn't know types of battery.

Congratulations to Sakurako on her first solo repair job. She's a smart girl. Cute summer outfit, as well. Of course, you've gotta treat your A/C with care. The compressors in those outdoor units are always working overtime.

Aliens are making moves. With the brain of someone like Tenkubashi, they can probably get up to something heinous. Akihiro somehow manages to be completely clueless, and Miwa continues to add nothing to the story.

I don't think I'm ready to talk or even think about the zipper on MuMu's back.

It was a good episode, but I want to see more of the fat cat and MuMu doing stuff and less of air conditioners getting cleaned. Like, I feel like the only thing the show is lacking is a more in-depth story. I want to know more about MuMu and his kind. I mean 1 appliance per ep would be fine for me, they could have cut the bit at the end about X-Rays and just did some more character building or world building in general.

And now this is in my top five for the season.
They push being off the wall without being overly cute.

And it's College no HS or JHS. So Happey!

Battery size does matter, silly Akihiro, as this young woman is trying to tell you. You just can't shove AA batteries into a remote that expects AAA! Do you understand, AAKihiro? Let's not even get her started on D-sized batteries... We are told by alien trepanation survivor Wataru (he's so lucky) that microwave ovens and Wi-Fi devices operate on the same frequency, causing all sorts of interferences. Ovens need more power to cook, while Wi-Fi is low-powered and meant for communication. Get it? Just like how guys always seem to be horny, and girls needing more emotional understanding, both operating on the same romantic frequency full of awkward interferences! Speaking of operations, X-Rays deeply penetrate our bodies exposing not just our bodies but our souls and our deepest secrets. Have you ever felt someone X-raying your mind and your body? I have. As our invading alien cat MuMu perfectly understands, this technology is dangerous and shouldn't exist! Ban all wavelengths across the galaxy!!!

We also witnessed the emergence of extremely possessive tomato growers. It's only understandable, really. Tomatoes are so juicy and delicious, the Earth's bounty.

Wow Sakurako, actually learning stuff. And wow is it possible an anime character (who doesn't have a HS uniform) with more than one outfit? And this dude is a himbo, let the annoying girl have him. Uh oh cats are getting serious.

I don't think that she really adds anything else so far, but it's a pretty laid back and simple comedic Sci-Fi Slice of Life series, so maybe that's enough.

It could also be argued that she contributed to Akihiro's characterization early on in that first episode with him standing up to her on Sakurako's behalf, indicating that he wasn't onboard with the bullying behavior and portraying him in a gentler, more sympathetic light even if he was automatically associated with the "cool"/popular crowd due to his looks.

It remains to be seen if she'll do more later, but sometimes series have characters like this around just to be the butt of jokes and/or to build the main characters up by contrast showing how honorable, intelligent, strong, sincere, etc. they are by contrasting them with a vapid fool.

I am not sure Akihiro knows. I could see it both ways since that other alien cat thing was against humans so he may not have spoke to him but on other hand if he did it would explain why he joined that club despite not understanding even something as basic as how to put batteries in a remote.

Was cute MuuMuu trashed the appliances thinking they could hurt Sakurako.

I cant help but wonder if I am only one who wonders if MuuMuu and the other alien's true form is a hideous monstrosity.

I'm impressed with this show's ability to teach me fun facts while simultaneously making me feel dumber. Good luck Mumu on your quest to destroy the evil electromagnetic waves, gonna be kind of hard to see anything though.

Once again, with both Rokugo and Tenkubasi out, Sakurako is left alone with Akihiro which creates the same awkward atmosphere, though there's someone else from the Cultural Club also in the Study Group handing out a box of tomatoes and needing help to fix the air conditioner for their kids' event. Taking the lessons learnt from Rokugo, Akihiro tries his best, but as he surmised to Sakurako that he isn't the best at handling electronics, the latter does all the work, taking into account what Tenkubashi has taught her instead. At the very least, the bit on the air conditioner issue is resolved, no thanks to the Cultural Club's planting federation blocking the outdoor unit, which also blocks airflow.

Tenkubashi getting a hole in his forehead (through the X-ray), though to accredit that to MuMu, it's more like MuMu and Decimal were able to stop the UFO that abducted him. And MuMu trying to understand how X-rays work through electromagnetic waves, and it's a tricky one to deal with. But MuMu mysteriously going missing and instead trying to dismantle all the EMF waves in Sakurako's room, she just leaves it up to chop because he's the one that caused this in the first place.

For the price of inconvenience, MuMu sure is doing a lot of damage towards Sakurako...

MuuMuu is my hidden gem of this season. Production value might be not great and the story is quite simple (although a little absurd), but it's a really enjoyable series. Mildly funny and educational, while the protagonist is really cute. It has some political messaging (pro-repair movement and comments about destroying our planet) but it's not annoying because of being smartly executed and usually in a funny way. At times I get slight "Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita" vibes, mostly during the ending song.
