Is it just me or does anyone else prefer the animation style in wano more than that of in egghead. I haven't reached there but seen both through reels and shorts. And I somehow prefer If it stayed like that of in wano.(I had the same opinion for jjk as well. It was great at many moments but I liked it more in s1)
It is not just hate post, just asking please be respectful for opinions. And do please correct me if I am wrong and why this animation style is better.

You aren’t alone. Egghead's animation is straight up weird and Wano's animation was better. yea i said it. Wano's animation was much more detailed than egghead. just look at zoro's legs in the last week's ep. They look like sticks lmao.

Wano Arc's animation was customized according to the story of Wano Arc and Egghead Arc's animation is customized according to the aesthetics and story of Egghead Arc. I am not trying to be disrespectful but you can't understand that by reels and shorts. When you will watch it, you will understand it.

I think what you're talking about is art direction if I'm not wrong. They are most likely trying to have a better productivity rate at delivering great animation which has led to them adapting a less detailed animation style.

I'm probably the only one who prefers the old animation (Enies Lobby arc as example) and will be shit on by the fanboys but I honestly don't care.

I've been watching OP weekly since 2011 or 2012 and to me, the animation these days ever since Wano arc came out is just weird and unnecessary. Fights are mostly flashy, bright coloured lights with beams, lightnings and other crap while having DBZ sounds. Half of the time you can't even understand shit when it's just a regular punch being thrown. Then you have Egghead arc and G5... I guess these days you can easily satisfy anime watchers by just having random shit with lightshows animated who will call it peak/masterpiece or whatever every episode.

Depends on the episode and scene, overall Egghead seems more packed with sakuga.

Agree with this. From my POV both animations are good as they both fits with the arc story.

That doesn’t excuse bad animation, even though its not really bad, just very original.

one piece has always had multiple animation styles depending on the animator. it was no different in wano and it's the same in egghead.

Real, I just finished Thriller Bark and I think the animation not only looks real nice, but it feels so genuine and really pulls me in, and I can’t really speak for the newer episodes, but for me I’m afraid that they just look like they have less life in them than what I’m on now. I’ll hopefully change my mind when I catch up in a million years, but for now I’m almost dreading it.

I’m pretty sure that’s the art style, not rly the animation.

Well you see, when the art in anime gets detailed, there’s a huge chance that the animation becomes stiff. This is because the animators have to animate every single detail again and again, which makes it hard to have fluid or ambitious animation. Thats why details are sometimes reduced to allow fluidity and more unique storyboards, like how jjk changed its art style in the second season. But then again, it’s a matter of opinion.

I like how it's looking, but when the show uses the more sketchy style I think it looks messy and unfinished, I get it's too sore every frame and detail, but I'm simply not a fan. You can have pretty animation without going to that style

I did prefer the animation style in Wano, and imho there's no reason why the animation had to change again after like 4 years. Spare me the talk about "aesthetics" btw; Oda didn't change his art style when he drew the Egghead arc in the manga, so I don't see why Toei had to. With Toei it's just change for the sake of change.
