I guess these weird animal/creature things are just going to be normal in this world. I mean, we had the lion before, but in this episode, we get introduced to like ten different animal/creature things, ranging from a spider, snail, starfish, praying mantis... oh, and who could forget the sea cucumber lmao. All under Onimaru ofc, being dubbed as his "Eight Demons," so you can assume there are eight of these weirdos roaming around. We focused on three of them this episode btw.

The whole point of this episode was to head to the island to investigate the Fujinken... until it wasn’t, because they got stopped by an onsen manager for being the “millionth visitors” to pass by. I mean, who wouldn’t take a free onsen stay? Like what lol. Silly antics ensue, typical stuff like peeking, slobbing, eating, oh and a haunted house, how could we forget. No seriously, the whole second half of the episode was Yaiba and Sayaka getting spied on by this starfish... who leaned a little too much into the Little Red Riding Hood act there xD

Poor guy was just watching his friends get accidentally defeated by Yaiba lol. Best believe they didn’t take kindly to that, and so a fight breaks out... where they all get accidentally defeated, not by Yaiba, but by the onsen itself lmaooooo. It's partly thanks to this that once again... Onimaru's little demons take a liking to Yaiba and gang. At this point it’s like Onimaru’s the only one actually doing villain stuff, and all his minions are just a bunch of clumsy weirdos who totally suck at being "bad guys" lol. Maybe this new guy will be different, who knows.

The fan service degree is much less than I expected or am I just too pervert?

Onimaru sitting in the demon lord throne is hot and cute at the same time.

Regarding vampire, there are currently four guys that I consider hot, but from the preview I don't think that vampire is gonna be the fifth guy, but I'll see...

Some fun at a hot springs! I enjoy the classic shonen vibes of this anime. Sure these are tropes that are ran into the ground by now, but they're tried and true for a reason too. Yaiba and crew going to a hot springs on their way to that island. Stopping for a rest is never easy when the evil villain overlord is after your sword. Onimaru has set up a veritable castle for himself while ordering his ogres to get the thunder sword. The next three being a starfish, a mantis, and a sea cucumber. Not exactly the most terrifying bunch but they try their hardest. Yaiba and Sayaka enjoying the hot springs at first, until those three setup this elaborate scheme to get the sword. Which it's wild they just randomly got to stay at the hot springs for free, that anime protagonist luck I suppose. But once the ogres convince them to go into this haunted game area it gets really funny. The starfish trying to fool them was so obvious but Yaiba isnt too bright. The mantis being touted as this great actor only to pull a little red riding hood bit made me laugh so much, even the starfish was in disbelief. As soon as Yaiba and Sayaka said they thought they stepped on one of those so called devil tongues I knew it was actually the sea cucumber and I stilled laughed. The final try with the starfish using glue almost worked. Yaiba showing off that strength by just moving the whole boulder smashing it and them all to bits. I'm glad these guys will be going off on their own mow, Onimaru definitely is a horrible boss so they deserve to be free now. Their failure not looking great for the Spider ogre. Onimaru pulling out his strongest, and last one left honestly, the fly looking bat ogre. Should be an amazing fight next episode!!

It's funny that all of the Eight demons have been shown and the Snake one is the only one that got eliminated. Despite Starfish, Mantis and Sea Cucumber being just a pushover their plan was at least entertaining. What I wanna know is what the Bat one can do in comparison, that seems to be the actual fight waiting to happen while Onimaru sits there doing nothing.

They skipped the slug episode, just some highlights. It also changed the place where these three appeared: from swimming pool to an onsen. I wasn't a fan of the first several episodes anyway so I approve these changes.

I predict that what took the original 16 - 20 episodes will be covered in the first cour, and then the second cour covers the episodes up to the 30s in the original.

It might cover more ground, but I don't think the comedy and parody are hitting.

from swimming pool to an onsen.

To be fair, that's pretty much where it took place in the manga as well. So if anything, the anime remake is actually much more faithful to the manga than the 1993 anime in that regard (Except the remake removed the fanservice and perverted moments lol).

I could easily see them ended the first season with the introduction of Kaguya and then the season 2 adapts the rest of Kaguya Arc.

I guess maybe they will show
cameo at the end of season 2 as a way to hype up season 3.

Another great episode! I absolutely loved the setting and spooky ambiance in this one!

The three ogres battling Yaiba & co were so funny! I laughed many times, especially during the successive failed attacks. The ending where they decide to join the party for a little while was heartwarming. I'm looking forward to watching their adventures together.

The bat seems like a whole character, though; I can't wait to see more of him.

And I feel bad for that bee guy who seems to be Onimaru's whipping boy.

The rating seems to be going down instead of up.

EDIT: 16 May, and it's now no longer in the Top 2000. Good. The positive comments in the episode discussions, and people mostly voting the episodes after episode 3 a 5/5 or 4/5 have been confusing me, but this kinda proves it's just the vocal minority singing its praises, and it's the silent majority that don't really like this show. It also proves that this having good animation doesn't really matter. It's still mediocre, and I doubt the rating will increase later. Oh, and the fact that the manga won an award means NOTHING! Cars 2 was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film, even though it's shit and got a lot of negative reviews, including being one of the Rotten movies for having less than 60% critics' reviews being positive on Rotten Tomatoes. It didn't win the award, but the fact that it even got nominated and therefore could've won the award is a joke.

It seems Yaiba still really doesn’t understand the charm of a woman—bro’s still a kid after all—while Miyamoto sticks to her perverse nature.

Mantis, Sea Cucumber, and Starfish were really funny and those cute eyes they had when they talked about where they wanted to go next.

A vampire? Think again... it’s a fricking bat. For a moment, I really thought it was a vampire out of nowhere—especially when Onimaru has been commanding these animal-demon hybrids. First of all, why are they even called ogres when they’re not brutish, monstrous giants—ugly, strong, and often cruel?

I'd think Musashi would get along with Roshi and Happosai.

Yaiba can't pull out the sword so he just lifts it with the boulder 😄

Welp, the Eight Ogres...or rather, they aren't much of a battle against Yaiba, though this is only the start.

Well, the mid-way point of having some onsen fun, though it's still training for Yaiba in all circumstances. And Miyamoto taking the chance to cheat Yaiba by peeking into Sayaka (whilst he does his), the boys sure got their just desserts from her, while the main villains are in another room trying to steal Raijinken. However, the selling of the onsen from what seems to be a manager of sorts, from the simple typical in setting to the Kimodameshi, which the creatures try to sift their way through to creating a Test of Courage of sorts, and Mr. Mantis failed on the first try.

However, there's still Mr. Starfish, Mr. Sea Cucumber (which sadly got stomped on the way) being able to thwart both Yaiba and Sayaka, though the circumstances of the 3 being defeated by the legend of the secret onsen, karma sure got back to them fast. Gerozaemon is one, though the 3 quickly surrendering to the humans and being freed at the same time, nothing is working out for Onimaru.

Well then, it's down to the final Ogre, a vampire...and hopefully he does the job better than the rest...

Onsen episode with some of the usual onsen shenanigans. The whole thing was super fishy but ofc these guys being shonen characters didn't realise something was up untill it was revealed but still oddly entertaining. Prolly due to the good animation and pacing. These ogres have been all joke except the snake and the new vampire guy looks trouble.

What a fun episode these “demons” are just animals from earth and they’re all too nice but it’s just that they were summoned by Ojinaru so they gotta work for him even if they aren’t actually evil, they’re so nice and sweet imo and I’m happy the Starfish, Mantis and Sea Cucumber lived and are now with Yaiba and them😁

The references in this episode was funny like red riding hood one got a good laugh outta me but the starfish screaming whenever his comrades were knocked out was so jokes🤣

Idk why ppl seem to hate this, it’s a textbook shounen and im LOVING it, it makes me feel lil young bc i be enjoying the funny moments with Yaiba doing his little perverted shit to Sakaya unknowingly, bros so jokes💀

Sakaya fanservice was a treat for a nigga like me who loves lolis😩😮‍💨
