Dawg this show is CRIMINALLY(pun intended) underrated. The way they always manage to throw some twist in to make you sympathise with the characters in a case is brilliant. I was like 40 percent right on this case 😂 thought they were all in on it and it ended up just being Kanae and Aya, but I fully support these girls holy shit Nazaki was a pos.

Nazaki being an insecure loser who took his insecurities out on these naive kind women breaks my heart. Like can you imagine having a girl who’s willing to help you put a down payment on a house because she sees your broke ass struggling and believes in you.. and you stab her in the back like that?? The fact Kanae got the money from her mom, presumably all of her life’s savings too, because she’d been so good to her.. nah man fuck that guy. Cheating, swindling and USING IT FOR HEIGHT ENGAGEMENT SURGERY LMAOOOO We fully support the girls.

hopefully with Japan’s tendency to focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment, they won’t get too long in prison.

Second case with the vtuber stalker is gonna be interesting. Early theory is that she got the stalker killed either directly or paid another fan to do it. Sadly a few too many cases where it goes the opposite way irl so I fully support her here too. But we’ll see what twists they have for us next week and what Kageyama cooks up. Kazamatsuri screaming down the apartment comms at Sakaguchi was killing me tho

NO SH*T, SHERLOCK!

"He a fan, he a fan, he a..."

That guy deserved DEATH as soon as this part was revealed:

Update: Oh, I forgot my prediction. There's maybe a third party involved, which might have pushed the delivery guy to meet Train-kun closely.

@godzilla9637 I'm watching it on Prime right now with subs. But the subtitles are only in English and Japanese, and the audio is in Japanese. No Spanish audio so far, at least on my Spanish subscription. Maybe the day after or some hours later.

The whiplash from barely beginning to contemplate the tragedy of the Napoleon complex case and immediately getting hit with a VTuber jumpscare was wild.

Kinda funny seeing a WcDonald's-style knockoff of OBS of all things, not to mention watching a detective learn all about VTubers from her butler.

So, in the 1st half of the episode we got the resolution for the 3rd overall case.
And it seems I was partially right, it was Kanae that killed Nazaki in that apartment. But I wasn't expecting for Saki to be involved too! The backstory was actually really sad. He fooled Saki to scam her and get her money, so that he could realize a surgery of limb extension... Not only that, he was ready to do the same to Kanae. The sad part, is that she was actually going to give him the money that her mother gave her, for all of those years of taking care of her. That's just evil...
When Kanae went crying to her mother's lap was a really sad scene, and I was surprised by how well they encaptured it. For sure my favorite resolution of a case so far, although the 2nd one was also really good.

Now we got a new case, of a man, that is apparentaly friends/lover with a VTuber, that ended up dying in a weird "suicide".
He had the item that the Vtuber asked for, which might indicate that he stole it from her. Or maybe she just forgot that she gave that to him.
I don't know, for me this guy and the Vtuber were lovers, and someone discovered that and killed him because of that. Either that, or a fan saw that he had that item and killed him.
Maybe it was her own manager, since she seems reluntanct in admiting that item was from her.
Either way, I just know it's going to be a tragic story...

Manlets absolutely seething while watching this episode, "napoleon complex", "can't handle their insecurity", a lot of truth bombs dropped this episode and daggers in the heart for some. Men under 5'7 should be locked constantly in chastity cages.

I had to go back and check their profession, so Kanae is a care taker, why does she has experience with pesticide? anyway, I am sad for Aya because she was fooled and actually got her money from her mom, so it was very terrible what happened to her

Nothing to say about the new case, I guess we shall see

The victim coned various women because he wanted the money to go and get height gaining surgery as he was insecure about his height.
Seems like something @rohan121 would do.

It's different story but uses the same trick.
Originally in live-action the victim is a politician but as usual anime changed the victim as they don't want to show political corruption in anime.

@rohan121
This short guy used 10 cm elevated shoes (also called men's secret shoes) to increase his height and when the women saw him take off his shoes they figured out that he is a liar.

@RainyEvenings
A few problems with those ideas
1. Height surgery is a huge risk that could cipple you for life.
2. How is a manlet going to get the money for that surgery? (not that I would)
Irl the manlet could get 0 women.
I am more so a believer in accepting fate.

Edit:
Boosting your height with shoes is not a tactic I use. That is more for people who pursue women. Lol

This was a weird episode. Like, way drag out the ending to the previous case just to end it mid-episode and start a new one with an obvious red herring.

Let the cases be contained in their own episodes.

It seems this wasn’t done by a single person but rather a collaboration between Saito and Kanae. I don’t appreciate them committing murder and ruining their lives in the process, even if I think Nozaki was scum. For a moment, even his two-timing might be acceptable, but using their feelings for his own gain without caring for either of them is unforgivable.

I’m conflicted about Kyouichirou—his poor detective skills and easily swayed judgments make some scenes boring in that regard. Yet, during the ending, he was sharp, using deduction skills while staying serious. This case is interesting as well, since we have another murder to unravel.

@Panda_Roll It is a rather odd way of organising things. They did it in episode two and they've done it again here. So yeah, expecting it to happen again.

For the current case, predicting that the manager is involved.

The VTuber case is way too real. Not idea how the japanese virtual streamers work, but the organisation here reminds me heavily VShojo - the US company with which IronMouse works with for example.

Quite funny how HanaKana, an ex idol, performed the "So this is the same thing as meet and greets also selling CDs work for idols?" line.

By the way, did I misunderstood or in-universe Reiko practically owns the snail girl along with the whole VTube agency? That could be helpful for the investigation, since she can pull some strings.

@Briekimchi Yeah, it'll be really weak if the v-tuber was the murderer. Total red-herring there.

Well, at least the show is entertaining so it has my attention. It's just... oddly organized.

Was anyone else stunned Kageyama did all that research on that Vtuber Agency that Hoshi was affiliated with? I laughed at how fast he spewed that out.

Also Reiko being Angy at Kageyama per usual telling him to do something like Ashe to Bob in Overwatch. I swear Kageyama’s such a Know-it-All and has the knowledge to back it up all while Slandering Reiko🤣

I would say the Vtuber pushed him but I think she didn’t. She was definitley still in her room.

I also think Kuru Chan sung one of the Victim’s songs that he instantly fell in love with her.

Just my hunch though

I don't condone Kanae's planned murder but Nozaki deserved it to be honest. Deceiving those women, not only cheating on them but taking their money with the excuse of "for the future". What a big loser. Like, I neither condone nor defend her actions but I can understand why she poisoned him.

Anyway, I didn't expect the perfect-looking Kageyama to be a fan of a Vtuber!!! Hahaha. Although he said that he knew that information as the butler of Hosho Group, but I guess he was quite fond of that Vtuber-chan (forgot the name). Since the Vtuber agency is under the Hosho umbrella, I hope Reiko can make use of her background as an "important person" this time.

Your honor, Nazaki's death was justified and the Ladies did nothing wrong. Asshole had it coming. (joke, but fuck that guy lol).

An now ooh a Vtuber case, didn't see that coming. On the surface it seems open and shut: A guy Sudokus due to not being able to live his dream of a singer, and after being rejected by his idol whom he tried to hand deliver her lost item to (The vtuber rightfully being freaked out by a stranger coming to her door). I wonder how this will get complicated... Maybe the Vtuber and the Singer/stalker had a (former) personal connection, since it never got explained how He found out where she lived... as well with the manager ecognizing the bag, but lying about knowing... Maybe there's some skeletons in that Agency's past she's trying to cover up that will pop up with this case?

Impossible to find a Snail Girl cute after reading Uzumaki. Though, having an anime display animation in their world was pretty funny. We get animation inside of animation, lol.

I don't particularly like how this episode was structured though. Solve the case from the previous episode and then immediately cut to the weird Snail Girl VTuber. It was quite jarring. I thought I was watching one of those shorts that sometimes play after the credits of a show.

I will say, the conclusion in the first half was decent enough. Particularly the cut of the mom giving her daughter money and not realizing she was being arrested for murder. It made me feel sorry for the old lady. The other girl, however, murdered the dude just because he was a sleeze bag, lol. She is going to have to murder half the population or more if that is all it takes.

I don't know, shouldn't online dating services somehow control who uses them and for what purposes? I mean, the guy was literally cheating and scamming through your service, basically extorting large amounts of money from lonely girls. Shouldn't you have blocked him and contacted the police?

@Marinate1016 This guy was such a shitty asshole that I actually expected the leads to falsify evidence so the girls could escape blame for this. But it looks like the show is going to teach a hard lesson about how bad problem solving will get you to a bad end once again. I don't know about the V-Tuber thing, I haven't watched the next episode yet. She did look scared, but it doesn't seem like it's that simple.

@KingYoshi If people start killing each other just because they are complete moral freaks and bastards, the effect will be like after the third world war, no less. That is why modern society no longer considers morality to be a subject of persecution.

@Sekiro94 It's not even about comedy, he's just useless here because every case is investigated by the MC and her butler.

@alshu I don't know who they were inspired by because I know next to nothing about this industry. But judging by the figures and posters, they were clearly inspired or made references. Also, the girl unironically doesn't know the influencers who work for her parents' talent agency?

We are talking about financial group here...so maybe not even her parents, but her whole family. She is probably familiar only with the parent company and not with all its many subsidiaries.
Also apparently Reiko is not interested in VTubers and knows mainly stuff about idols.

@alshu Well, if I were the heir to an ultra-influential and important corporation, I would at least have a superficial knowledge of its assets. As for the financial group, I don't know how it is in the rest of the world, but in Asia they often consist of the owners of one original company buying up various useful properties in order to have representation in various areas. Especially in Japan and Korea.

Ok, you can say it's a rich girl trope (and we have that for example in Detective Conan with Sonoko) to not even care what all the family assets are.

Mind you some of those are absolutely huge. Reiko can even not know that said group has invested in entertainment to begin with, or it can be a recent acquisition.

@alshu I'm not saying it's a plot hole or anything, it makes sense within the plot because we're talking about a comedy about silly/dumb rich people. I was just pointing out how unusual it seems from a real life perspective.

So he really turned out to be a piece of shit. The thing is, they had proof of his fraud they could’ve just reported him. But I get it, she wanted to take revenge herself.
Now the next case involves a vtuber. I’m sure no one saw that coming, but hey, I’ll take it. I couldn’t help but cringe even though I’m a vtuber fan myself. So I guess I’m cringe… ah, that’s kind of sad.
For a moment, I actually thought the delivery guy was the vtuber since they both had throat problems and went to the same hospital. That would’ve been hilarious.

The secret shoes being elevator shoes that Shinichi Nozaki was wearing, and pertaining to the evidence that was gathered by everyone, it doesn't take a genius to find out that one of th 3 women was Nozaki's murderer is Aya Saito, whom he was dating and left being on read, which implied the help from an accomplice of Kanae Mayuzuri to aid her in the murder. And it all stemmed from a real estate scam to help him with the surgery of his feet to fit his elevator shoes, it was definitely an act of revenge on Aya's part to rid him of all the evidence she accumulated, apart from the money that was given to Kanae by her ailing mother. To find this all stemming from the Napoleon Complex of insecure short guys, it was an eye-opening case alright.

The case of a VTuber being served food delivery from a man who was subsequently somehow murdered thereafter, the victim of Yuma Kobayashi is more likely looking to be self-suicide after suffering a throat condition that deemed his future cut short. And all of the evidence linking Kuru Kuru a.k.a Kurumi Sakaguchi to Kobayashi, seemingly from a stalking case as they went to the same general hospital to treat their vocal chords, what factors link them both together?

Fascinating cases, though Kageyama takes the cake for the latter half.
