I'm genuinely enjoyed this movie. It's been so while I had cozy vibe like this.

I took my parents. It was their first anime. Now they are excited to watch other anime films.

But agreed, I keep telling people I know to watch it if they can. And it's out on Amazon here now in the US at least digitally.

Tried to get my older two kids to come with to see it but they both had work.

I’ve seen this movie on cinema.
It was an interesting movie, Totsuko had a hard life, but also she chased her passion and everything was intense.

I can’t say it wasn’t a good movie, but also it wasn’t my favourite or one of the best ever made either. It’s a bit more than average.

I watched it with one of my friends at the cinema it was sooo good and kind of comforting. It was such a shame that the cinema was so empty.

It's the usual problem as always with anime movies: it's not on streaming.

I missed the theatrical run earlier this year, and now I have to "buy" to own a digital copy.

Or wait for the blu-ray release later this month. Which I'm not going to buy without seeing it at least once and liking it. Maybe it'll land in the local library so I can watch it for free, but I don't have high hopes...

Just so happened to come across the soundtrack on Spotify, enticing me to watch it.

Too bad not too much people know about this as it's not on streaming services. Only option is to buy the BD or go on the cat website

I've always been intrigued by how abruptly Yamada disappeared from mainstream anime focus in the West after she left KyoAni in favor of more independent projects.

@Mirai_Tachibana Compare how widely discussed each of her works in KyoAni was and how many people in the West are discussing her first original show.
