Summer festival based episode but another strange occurrance happens.

The girl Kanna met seemed normal at first until she disappeared. Apparently, her mother had an incident years before the present timeline. It's events like this that sparks mystery curiousity tbh. On another note, Kanna and her friends had fun outside of the clsasroom doors so good for her.

I love mystery but hate murder so this anime fit perfectly for my criteria.

An episode focused on the summer festival, with the mysteries in the show remaining centered around supernatural stuff.

Looks like there's someone who likes Kanna, isn't that right, Takebou 😁? But I can't believe Chuuzenji would two-time my Kanna like that — playing with her maiden heart while he had a wife all this time! (Just kidding, of course.) Seriously though, the thought of Chuuzenji having a wife really hit Kanna pretty hard, but it turned out to be her sister.

Dramatic stuff aside, we did see his actual wife by the end, and it's a surprise that he's tamed by her, which is funny and cute considering how strict he usually acts.

Can't imagine growing up in a household where your grandmother is abusing your mom, your mom takes off without you, there is a whole world war while your mom is away plus the post-war occupation, and then finally 10 years after your mother leaves, you finally find her. That must have been so difficult

I thought Kanna x akihiko can happen until very end of episode. It would be cool, but this is okay too.

Goodness, so Chuuzenji had a little sister and a loving wife in '48?

@Sekiro94 That wouldn’t have been possible because of the time period we live in and the ethical concerns that would inevitably arise due to their teacher-student relationship. So even if Akihiko wasn’t married to Chizuko or anyone else, he still wouldn’t have been in a romantic relationship with Kanna.

All Akihiko × Kanna fans can do is dream—and that’s all, unfortunately.

Watching the reveal of Enokizu stowing Ayano away in his car as quickly and discretely as he did was weirdly funny. Nice of him to reunite her with her mother though.

Fitting that Kanna's new partner-in-annoying-Chuuzenji would be his own little sister lol. Hope we see more of Atsuko.

I don't know what to think... so the mother Etsuko ran away for 10 years because she was abused by his mother and now her daughter Ayano ran away because her father is too stricted and she also blamed what happened to her mom.. did the police got involved or he just accepted that his wife simply gone? I wonder if they ever talk it out, instead the wife just decided to "disappear" for 10 years without a word..

Reijirou find Ayano hide behind his car, so he just decided not say a word and drive her to see her mother? I don't think Ayano knew him personally but she just hop on stranger's car?

If he wasn't a teacher Chuuzenji would be a detective to rival the great Sherlock Holmes.

This was my favorite episode so far, with an engaging case and some nice character moments. I especially liked getting to meet teach's sister and wife, I wouldn't have expected him to be married, he seemed like a hardened bachelor.

Kanna and her friends being at the usual Summer festival, though more than seeing Chuzenji with a girl (which Kanna assumed it's his wife), it's Ayano being chased by her family that creates a ruckus to disrupt the entire festival. And as the investigation gets underway with everyone in tow, no evidence is found as of yet, so the adults leave to tend to their own issues.

Kanna now finding out that Chuzenji's younger sister Atsuko is also called in to assist him into the disappearance case, it unfortunately keads nowhere, even with Kiba's evidence findings. And seemingly, Chuzenji got it all planned out as to how his daughter Ayano, and his wife Etsuko, disappeared without a trace. All that remained is just her helper of Iida Kenzo assisting her escape with blue paper to distract the father into thinking that both mother and daughter simply vanished, though it's all because of a family affair of domestic abuse that Enokizu suddenly found himself having to assist Ayano back to her mother safe and sound, to hide for the moment when the time is right to go back to the main house mansion.

Chuzenji's wife Chizuko is quite dignified, though Atsuko has her fair share of moments as well.
To run away from home, including the time for war, it is hard and fast survival.

@XArceusX On the contrary, at that time age gap relationships were much more common due to the old patriarchal norms that still remained. To the point that Kanna's parents could be glad that her husband was "so mature". But overall, I think the creators deliberately gave him a formal wife so that this ship would not happen. Besides, Kanna already has several love interests for every taste, from a hunk classmate to a dude's younger sister.

@RobertBobert No, I was actually talking about the real world. From that time perspective, I agree that it wouldn't have been that much of a thing. An author needs guts and a strong will to write anything that includes big age gaps, to face[ backlash from people

Well, Kanna has some rather cute features, so it makes sense, but the girl hasn't shown any interest in anybody other than Akihiko yet.

@XArceusX Well, even now in Japan it's common to have families with 10-15 or 20 years of age difference. Not least because of the different expectations of men and women regarding marriage, but still. But of course, Japanese media is more focused on showing what the target audience would like to see, rather than something that is painfully realistic. That's why anime is so full of fantasy about fateful teenage romance.

Considering how often she is impressed by the beauty of other women, I could joke that she has only shown interest in others so far. But judging by how many straight couples and relationships we've seen in the show so far, this isn't that type of show. Although the last anime based on this franchise literally started with Class S.

Nobody is talking about it so I'll say it: Enokizu getting to his car and suddenly saying he's super busy and needs to leave? And he drives away laughing with the camera and audio lingering on this whole scene for nearly half a minute until his chortling fades away? That's peak comedy right there.

This episode is so dumb, why would anyone think she was spirited away when there were a million places for her to hide?

Once again, just like in episode 3, the defender of this show better not go down the "it's 1948" route because it doesn't stick. This people have just survived the horrors of WW II, being twice nuked, going hungry, cities in ruin. At the same time a whole new fantastic wonder world, full of technological marvels is right in front of them.

Every one whos not 50/60+ is turning their back on the old world & beliefs, and the first thing young people go for is "she was spirited away" LMAO give me a break.
