Knowing that Mosuke wife wasn't killed by the monster and was actually graped and left to her death is irritating me. great that Junta killed them off at the end.

also it seems like the animation quality is lower than the previous few eps which sucks

The animation and overall art quality was not very good this episode and this being a Yokohama Labs product, I expect the crash and burn.

The episode was quite brutal. I figured out it was his wife, but not until right before the reveal, so it still had a nice impact.

They really cranked up the edge in this one, though I'm not complaining. I enjoy some brutality as long as the series is entertaining.

I kind of wish they explained or showed more about how his wife became a demon. She seemed the least likely kind of character to become a demon simply due to a violent death, tbh. Even as she was sinking in the river, she was just thinking of her husband and wanting to see him again. She didn't even think about what had just happened to her. I guess that is enough to become a demon in this world? Maybe they will dive deeper into the details of how that works later. The one rapist at the end did comment on how she fought hard and screamed out for her husband the entire time. So, that would probably explain it. Her desperation to see him during the brutality, paired with her pre-established acceptance of demonkind, leading to her becoming a demon after death. The scene when it showed her end didn't convey any of that though. It was more of a, "she died violently and is now a demon, I guess," type of situation. I know they didn't want to actually show too much of that scene, which is good, but it feels like they did a poor job of conveying an emotional state extreme enough for a good person to become a demon after death. Unless just everyone does in this story, idk.

The very end was bittersweet. The MC is kind of just a straight up murderer now since those two were technically human. Not that they didn't deserve it, of course. I wonder if his demon side is going to become a struggle to contain as he moves forward. This incident could be another point you could highlight as contributing to that. Of course, the events of his childhood and sister debacle being the main driving force.

Overall I enjoyed the episode even though I had more problems with this one than any of the previous episodes. Excited to see where this story goes and keeping my fingers crossed that Yokohama Labs doesn't completely drop the ball again, like they always seem to do.

I just caught up on watching this, and wow, I think this anime is pretty good so far. The first episode was crazy. I feel really bad for Jinta and Shirayuki. I wish they had tried to figure something out instead of just accepting things the way they are. I wonder why Jinta didn’t express his feelings. When Shirayuki asked if he loved her, he didn’t answer yes or no, so I’m curious what she thought. If he had admitted his feelings, things might have turned out differently. I also wonder if he’ll end up falling for someone else, and what he’ll do when he sees his sister again. It’s kind of crazy how brutal his sister was, especially with what she said about Shirayuki. Everything has been set up pretty well, and it’s pretty dark. Overall, I think this anime is worth watching, and I’m excited to see where it goes.

Although the quality is a bit lower compared to the first episodes, the discrepancy is not that big. Make sure you check if you watched the correct, finished version of episode 4, because ADN broadcast an unfinished version of it, Amazon and HIDIVE versions are corrected.

Is it possible that Jinta, not Suzune, will be the demon of all demons coming from Kadono!?! But, and this is all just my speculation, if he’s able to absorb other demons’ power/quirk to get stronger, couldn’t suzune going crazy, becoming a full demon and murdering Shirayuki be the catalyst to Jinta being the strongest demon in 170 years??

Oh My God what the f*ck happened to the animation on Eps 4?? its disgusting!!!! Ngl its hard to belive that this is the same Studio that made Majo to Yajuu, the animation and character design was so horrible that i couldnt focus on the plot.

Jeez... im so dissapointened, this is some Season 3 Nanatsu no taizai Sh*t, im surprised that no one is talking about this cuz after what i've seen im droping this Garbage.

These people complaining about the animation like it's the worst thing in the world really must have watched something else. I barely noticed any difference. If I had to think of the weakest part it was maybe with a few quick or choppy shots during the fight scene on the bridge that took all of like 20 seconds of the screentime of the episode? That really can't be what the people who've commented along these lines are catastrophizing over, right?

I assume the multiple versions issue is what's at play, and I just watch the finished version. Otherwise we just exist in alternative universes. I don't care about animation quality, especially compared to the primacy placed on it by some others, but I can still tell when it's very broken and bad. And there wasn't anything in the episode I watched which even raised an eyebrow. Seemed like a standard anime episode in that regard.

This was by far, the best episode yet.
I couldn't help but tear up when it was revealed that Slasher was actually Hatsu and learning about the horrors she endured broke my heart.
i didn't quite understand at first that why was slasher wants to go back with original form but afterwards it was cleared .she just Wanted to go back to mosuke.
My respect for Jinya soared in that moment.
He didn’t just avenged but he honored their pain. He avenged both Hatsu and Mosuke with unwavering resolve.
HERE ARE SOME MOMENTS

Absolute cinema!

Calm down dawg, it’s not that bad. This ain’t no Blue Lock or 7DS type animation, it’s a bit choppy, but that’s expected from this studio tbh. They’re probably having production issues.

@Hollywood-san Yeah you right, I initially watched it on ADN, but even there they've uploaded the better version now. It's day and night.

The moment of Jinya's humanity, together with Ofuu's calm and collected mood to encourage him to "live in the moment", it's a solemn time of reflection as he appreciates his time with her. And the moment he's been waiting for the slasher to locate his targets, a werewolf of an apparition, and it's already proving a challenge to take it down, even with Mosuke's invisibility.

Jinya saving Natsu in the nick of time making her delivery rounds, as much as Zenji also appears forthcomingly to give the demon slayer a lead to where the demons might be held, right at the Mizuho temple. Mosuke having a clear target of the serial killer eating its prey, though he's woefully underpowered to ever confront it eating women, with the demon itself gruesomely and nearly killing him. Jinya, clearly needing all the help he can get, adopts Mosuke's demon eye to inherit his power and see through his lens, to a sad sight. Meanwhile, the demon itself wanting to locate his woman of "Yunagi" and reinstate his demonic self, with the thirst to feed on women regardless of how they are, Jinya confronting and killing it to answer his queries of what he's been hearing so far and also consume its power, though the revelation of the monster serial killer being his wife needing a body and a home to return to, it's a sad ending between husband and wife, being demons but of the same aspirations, yet are dealt with with the same outcome of death incarnate.

If Jinya learns something about people, it's that they can be demons as well, rapists and all.

Sad episode, but with somewhat satisfying end. I say somewhat because the filth died too quickly.

Damn Natsu, almost died again...

I didn't really get this one, how did she get a demon body? And as she was drowning why did she want a new body? And why didn't she recognize Mosuke? These plots play out like rough drafts that haven't really been thought through all the way.

And how dumb is Soba shop girl going for a walk in the dark...to look at flowers? When there is a demon killing women. Are these women sticking their hairpins through their brains?

That whole thing with Jinta absorbing powers and seeing memories is super badass. Not to mention he kills bad guys without that whole hero-wannabe vibe or waiting for justice to handle it. He’s hands down the best protagonist this season for me.

Because she didn't want to return to her husband as a violated woman.

Mosuke had never shown her his demon form, so she couldn't have known. Besides, all she remembered was that she "must kill men" and "must return home". But because she understood she couldn't return home looking like a monster, she figured she would eat women to get a human body. Since Hatsu wasn't intelligent as a demon, she was convinced this plan of hers would work.

I really enjoyed the sad, gentle tone of this arc. And the long, quiet conversations. Even if the action scenes are a little awkward and the story isn't exactly exciting.

I'm shocked that they aired two different versions of this episode. That has to be a mistake. It's not like there's a huge amount of gap between the broadcast and streaming, is it?
