Dei would mean masculine ugly women going at it. Dei demonizes the the male gaze which is the yuri you like (Yuru Yuri, Machikado, ect).
@rohan121 I hope no woman will ever touch you, like, for their safety. You just are ugly inside

I'm pretty sure the industry already has some level of ESG, maybe also of DEI, if you know that both of those things are more "putting numbers on a Excel sheet" than anything.

Talk about "vague-posting" huh? This whole thread is bait.

I don't want any forced or shoehorned changes as much as the next guy but.....anime already "DEI" in it. Have you seen genres such as Boys Love, Girls Love, Crossdressing? There are good ways and bad ways of "including". Murican style of finger-pointing and virtue-signaling the audience is the bad way of doing "DEI".

Anime wouldn't be made if their source material aka manga are not popular to begin with and most mangas are sold in Japan who are pretty resistant to Murican culture war or whatever.

The company you mentioned is an investment firm who have shares in 100s of companies. It's nothing to be alarmed about.

That being said, the anime community was so much better before the western normies discovered anime.

Anime is lacking diversity and representation? Good. Those guys think that the industry spins around their egos.

America wants their agenda to be spread worldwide. So petty.

At the end of the day it comes down to execution, I don't think anime has made much progress in this regard, not that it tried to or anything, and when there were USA oriented anime in recent years, they sucked balls.

But a lot of people liked Yubisaki to Renren and Koe no Katachi, so maybe that leads the way to more inclusive anime? Personally I didn't care about the former and didn't like the latter, but who knows, maybe that's the direction anime is gonna take regarding these topics.

LGBT characters are definitely portrayed better than the caricatures they were made up to be in general until at least the 10s, so there's that.

That is a very good point. Anime does not get made without popular source material and dei would negate any chance of popularity. It is a common tactic of dei to target and change former popular media into slop though like ghostbusters, star wars, ect.

The people against DEI now would be against women voting 50 years ago and slaves being free however many decades ago. You lack critical thinking skills, because your preconceived notions about what's important in the world excluded you from taking well-rounded liberal arts courses that would've taught you that the best way to combat hatred is exposure to those diverse groups. But a single man dodging 100 bullets is totally fine and "immersive" for you.
@lezbuns Critical thinking skills is what's lacking in those who equate being against DEI with being against women's rights and slavery, how much does one have to bend logic to put those things on the same level?

The vast majority of people against DEI aren't against it because they're against inclusion and diversity, they're against it cuz it prioritizes race, gender, sexuality over quality and merit

DEI isn't progress, if anything it is an insult to skilled and talented minorities as it pushes the notion that they'd never be able to get their positions without those being reserved for them
