  1. Urusei Yatsura: Because. Just because.
  2. City Hunter: Very large OST here, and again it's all easy to love.
  3. Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne: Again, a big soundtrack, and all of it is really good.
  4. Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (1991) This anime basically has a video game soundtrack (Like a PS1 remaster of an NES game would have), and it's all so damn good. If only the 2020 series had this sort of music. I'll just link the best ones.
  5. Ginga Tetsudou 999 (Movie): Cinema AF movie, cinema AF soundtrack.

I used to have these things listed, now I'm not sure anymore, but I know my full list included Cowboy Bebop, Arjuna, Made in Abyss, Acca 13, Fairy Tail, Fate/Stay Night and Zero, the first Kaiji season and Area 88, that I'm sure of. Probably Saint Seiya too, it's incredible, problem is to actually find it, copyright is a real bitch about it.

1. Girls Last Tour - No other OST beats it imo. Literally feels like you're in a Post-Apocalyptic world.
2. Non Non Biyori - Peak relaxation and peace
3. Aria - Chill and vibes, whether it's the soft tracks or the upbeat one's. The variety of it's tracks is amazing
4. Girls Und Panzer - Always gets me hyped up and the first show to really get me to appreciate OST's
5. Violet Evergarden - Really made scenes in the anime more magical and harder-hitting.

Honorable mentions:
- Attack on Titan
- Garden of Sinners
- Yuru Camp
- Nichijou
- Madoka Magica

The Perfect Duo - has one who thinks and one who do's.
To have a party, there's at least two

Frieren - just godly
City Hunter - love the 80's vibes
Aria franchise - peak chill and beautiful vocals, reminds me of a soft summer breeze whenever I think of the music
LotGH - classical music OST that fits perfectly with this show (same with Princess Tutu and Journey into Fairyland)
Noir or Sound of the Sky - both have standout tracks

Also could've included Ranma or Maison Ikkoku, love 80's vibes. And honourable mention for Yokohama Shopping Log for the ultimate chill pill.

1. Love Live! Superstar!! Show: Girl overcomes her insecurities to become a confident singer along with the rest of her idol group. Music: Sweeping orchestrated fantasy adventure. I mean, compare the Superstar main theme to Treasure Planet or Super Mario Galaxy. And the first link already recaps the entire first season story by itself.

2. Genesis of Aquarion. Barely watched the series, but Akino's voice is too iconic. One of the romantic power ballad greats.

3. Cardcaptors (Nelvana dub): Cheesy nowadays, but it was what motivated me to become a singer. Especially the Belinda Carlisle style power pop that is Guardian of the Cards.

4. Pokemon. It's often overlooked how good the anime remixes and instrumental versions of the OPs are, on par with the Smash Bros remixes. Standout examples include the Kanto Gym theme, the instrumental version of OK!, the Johto OP, and the Hoenn Elite Four remix.

5. Studio Ghibli in general. For many, this requires no explanation, but Carrying You from Castle in the Sky is so iconic that the Trails video game series shamelessly rips it off.

Personal favorites:

NANA (killer soundtrack and original songs from Anna Tsuchiya as Nana / Black Stones and OLIVIA as Trapnest / Reira)
Clannad/After Story (still stirs up so many emotions and nostalgia for me, especially Dango Daikazoku)
Attack on Titan (consistently epic atmosphere from start to finish, really sets the mood)
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (I still get quite nostalgic whenever I hear the OP COLORS or the insert songs by Hitomi)
Anything by Studio Ghibli, but especially Howl's Moving Castle (Merry-Go-Round of Life), and From Up on Poppy Hill (the songs sung by Aoi Teshima are beautiful)

I often fail to pay attention to OSTs, but I fall in love with the ones that I do notice.

1. Vinland Saga
2. Violet Evergarden
3. Houseki no Kuni / Land of the Lustrous
4. Hibike! Euphonium (not just the band music; the actual background music is underrated, IMO)
5. Yuru Camp (happy to see so many mention this one)

Hisaishi Joe is just leagues above any of the above, so I didn't include him. I think he's one of the greatest film composers, easily comparable to the likes of John Williams and Ennio Morricone.
