you could just wait for it to finish airing, you're not getting the episodes any faster from a batch release format you're just waiting until what would've been the date of the final episode airing if it were weekly.

I think the best way to avoid that is just no Netflix involvement at all because I don’t trust them enough.

Can't we somehow influence this? Who makes these decisions, DP? If so, people should use the media to ask or at least suggest a change.Releasing series in cours kills the hype and promotion of the anime. There's no chance the studio wouldn't notice this either. If SBR has to be on Netflix then at least they should release episodes weekly Then everyone would be happy

Its a bit nitpicking. Who cares how its released a masterpiece is a masterpiece

I personally enjoyed batch releases since I can watch a few episodes per session. 20minutes per week feels like too little but I wont mind it either way Im just happy we are getting this animated

Shouldn't your top 1 priority to worry about if the adaptation will be good? When parroting others became your number 1 priority for JoJo? Also nobody pointed a gun at your head to binge watch it. Batch or not , you can watch it weekly again. Netflix will stay because the majority voted for it with their wallets

it was a common complaint I heard a lot, but as I didn't watch this while it was airing it didn't really affect me.

& I do think Jojo on netflix is defo more of a mixed bag than these naysayers ever let on. A lot of newer fans are gonna have been pulled in through netflix's immense reach and exposure.

They definitely promoted Jojo way more than a lot of their other stuff.

Maybe they did mismanage part 6's release and I guess they either will or won't listen to that criticism (since it surely reached them with how present it was). But they've also likely done a lot of good for the series and fandom at large; that often goes unsung.

Weekly(or maybe even two episodes per week) is definitely better for popularity. It's also more fun as I recently re-learned while watching Severance as it released.

by that logic you can also just watch one episode per week and voila, you got your weekly anime (even though all the episodes came out in one day)

@MeVike that's not the point, if we get weekly release = weekly memes and more hype

weekly shows stay longer in conversationm . That was the boggest issue with part 6, no one talked about it.

I'm watching a show to enjoy it and not necessarily to talk about it, so that doesn't concern me in the slightest, that's why I'd definitely want all the episodes in one day over having to wait.

@MeVike
like I said before, you would still be getting the full season by the same point regardless. weekly enjoyers get to have their hype and discussions, and you get to have the full season available on the same day it would've dropped if it were following the binge-model. win-win.

you don't seem to get the point as the same applies to what I said as well. you weekly watchers can just watch one episode per week and talk about it and all that stuff you call hype and the ppl who don't care about internet talk can watch it immediately and move on. the point is just as you tell ppl to wait for it to end, the others can tell you to watch it once a week.

you can't expect the internet to all collectively decide to watch it at the same pace, and like others in this thread have mentioned before weekly releases are better for maintaining hype and interest in a series, thus increasing viewership. you still haven't made a single point as to why weekly releases are actually worse for you.

i prefer batch release too, they should release all 39-51 episodes at once, the weekly episodic thing is kinda old now, most netflix shows release at once too, although its kinda pointless talking about it for this series anyway cause by the time it even gets released most people will have moved on and wont even remember that the anime exists, its way too late down the road

@BillyJames You know, a good show can be entertaining to watch no matter whether there is "hype" or not. And masterpiece can be masterpiece regardless of its release model, as @DanBuldozer noticed earlier.

Lack of "hype" and "reaction videos" or whatever is trending these days is not a big deal to something belonging to such well-known franchise as JJBA, 'cause shows like JJBA don't need even excessive advertising to be noticed, watched and generate a lot of positive emotions. Watching something just to experience "hype" is kinda shallow experience, in my opinion. Think of it as if you were a newcomer to a franchise, with many episodes to watch until catching up to the latest season. :P

I don't mind batch releases myself. Weekly releases have their charm, sure, but when it comes to JoJo, both of these release models are fine with me. Part 6 being released in batches was actually convenient, because I could watch several episodes right away, instead of waiting the whole week for another 20-minutes long episode. Perhaps I felt that way due to being familiar with the manga, so I knew what would happen, but still, batch release was not a problem for me when it came to Part 6 anime.

the internet? so you want to have discussions with billions of ppl? i don't see Billions in this threads. Nvm that I don't see hundreds. You can't convince the internet to do anything, but you can convince ppl. Besides, even if you make a thread talking about sbr 10 years after it released, you'll still find plenty of people who will reply to said thread, so that whole thing is pointless. Wanting it to be weekly because you want hype is just as pointless, because define hype without it being subjective. What's hype for you won't be for something else. what's hype for me? Having 50 episodes already out to watch. I'm not saying you're wrong or that you're right. I'm saying look at the bigger picture objectively and don't get caught up in your bias. Just as I can wait for all of it to end, you can also wait to watch it weekly. Is your way of consuming said media better than mine and vice versa? No not necessarily. it's all preferences, so before you go telling ppl how to consume the media, think about how it also applies to you.

100% agree, but I also hope David Productions puts a little more effort in this... Stone Oceans batch 1 and 2 were a little disappointing animation wise, comparing to Part 4 and 5 for example

Downgrades in quality almost never happen purely because of "not enough effort". You can criticize the new leadership of DP and their questionable prioritization, but it's not like people who were involved then collectively didn't care about it.
