We all know what they’re producing right know is a joke (way worse than blue lock), so what are the chances of it getting a reboot?
I’m intrigued by the story but the animation is just god awful so is it worth not watching it and hope it gets rebooted? (so I can watch it for the first time with good animation)

If I’m not mistaken god of high school had a similar situation but it did not get rebooted so I’m unsure what to do. Why the hell would he pick studio A cat….

And don’t say read the manwha/manga I want to watch it not read it.

I don’t understand the young people’s fixation on “any animation that isn’t the absolute pinnacle of animation is bad animation”

I have never watched a series because of the animation alone, that’s crazy. The story matters the most, then the characters, then the writing, then the music, and lastly, the animation.

Y’all are weird, I recently find myself hating that anime became mainstream.

I know animation isn't everything but I've read the manhwa and enjoyed it, probably I'll enjoy the series regardless of the animation but I know that I'd prefer a good animated adaptation by far, speaking of which someone started a petition to reboot the series with other studio on change.org I don't think it'll get far but I found it amusing.

Of course it’s a package deal and you don’t watch an anime just because the animation is good.

But…..if the animation sucks big time then that’s gonna take away from the story and everything else, surely you understand that right?

@DarttheLegend I don't really care about this series but I agree it's cringe. And then people can't understand if why something is popular in japan or generally finds an audience

The list of Butchered Adaptations longing for a Remake is Very long. And Very very little got a chance, some even fu*ked that up. Tbate is at the bottom of that waiting list rn honestly speaking.

Closest probable date I could think of, is either after 2 more decades or When the manhwa ends, that's too just barely a chance.

It already ruined it's Reputation as a "cheap copy of MT", which it's Not, but I don't think it'll ever gaining it's Hype & Popularity back. And I highly doubt, any studio would take risk involving in the series again.

And getting a Brotherhood treatment is Highly Unlikely.
WISHED I COULD ALSO GET TRANSPORTED TO A WORLD FULL OF MAGIC And DUNGEONS, please take me there too if you could ( ◜‿◝ )

Pretty low, I’d guess.

I think a better-produced second season is more likely, but still unlikely.

From what I’ve heard, this anime was mainly conceived as an ad to promote the source material. They probably didn’t want to spend too much, since it was uncertain how well it would do as a story and how many anime watchers would actually transition to the source material.

Like, think if this got decent animation, maybe JC Staff DanMachi-level quality. Are you sure it would’ve popped off? The fans might like it, but they’re already reading the web novel or webtoon. What matters are the newcomers. There’s a very good chance they’d write it off as just another isekai. It could’ve been another 200k-member anime on MAL with a score in the mid-7s that everyone forgets about next season. So they would’ve spent significantly more money without bringing in significantly more people to the source material, where they’d actually make their money back—in other words, they’d lose money.

@DarttheLegend Yeah man I feel you, I don't have any problems watching an action anime as animated as a manhwa, with a downgraded design and worst fights (kinda important for an action anime), as they are cutting the fights in half, your point is amazing dude, great job, I fully agree with you. The problem is with this new generation of anime watchers.

Ok well the animation in this series certainly doesn’t “suck big time” it’s pretty standard.

My experience with Manhwa thus far is that they don’t value writing and storytelling, but only to have an OP protagonist, which is certainly “very Korean” LOL. I’d be happy to see this break the trend and I have enjoyed it so far.

@DarttheLegend It's so terrible it doesn't deserve people defending it, I saw a guy remaking the same fighting scenes from the anime on phone and it took him 5-10 minutes.

This is 2025, TBATE is one of the biggest and well known manhwa's, no matter the story at this point no other manhwa received an animation so bad. I actually challenge you to tell me an anime, isekai, who got animation this bad, its insane that animes like "In Another World With My Smartphone" is more enjoyable than the curent TBATE.

To put it straight there is no excuse for animes like " I Reincarnated Into a Vending Machine " to have a better animation than TBATE which was supposed to compete with Mushoku Tensei or with Solo Leveling. There is nothing standard about the animation presented here, so explain to me how is it normal that an anime like " Uma Musume: Pretty Derby " which is about horse-girls racing to have a better animation than a power-fantasy isekai animation?

How can you call us weird when you are delusional in defending a really bad animation, its so bad that most of the anime you'll compare it to has better animation, even from 10 years ago, even from 20. You liked the artstyle? That's fine, but don't defend the animation. When you call it standard if you compare it with a standard animation the TBATE is doing worse.

Even "The Maou Army's Strongest Magician Was a Human" from the same studio, A-cat, has better animation, what's the excuse honestly.

You can have one bad take and it's okay, but doubling down on it, LOL.

This anime has the worst animation quality of reasonably well known works this season (and by it I mean about 5000 members on this site).
This is not a standard, standard is some above average isekai level animation.

I tried to believe in Studio A-Cat.They might not have a stellar record by any means, but the first 2 episodes showed not that they can't, they just don't care at all about this project.

ENGI also did not have the greatest reputation but they did their all for Medalist. Sadly A-CAT did not do the same for TBATE.

They were literally the only ones more or less interested in animating it. The Beginning After The End is an American Novel and comics mimicking the Isekai slop. Why would the Japaneses want to invest money on it, when they have tons of such works already way more popular there (which would then generates more money) ?

Chances of a Remake/Reboot are 0.

That won't change anything; that's not how the industry works... The very best case scenario would be to support the author by buying his books, and express your enthusiasm to Netflix (who knows, maybe they'll hear the money printing and produce it in a decade or so).

Mhh, it is popular (it's a fact; #1 Tapas) but it's very, very far from the most popular ones, especially outside of the US. All (actual) Manhwas that received adaptations where at least 10x more popular, and were also well known in Japan.

You can't compare their productions, because their local impacts in Japan are already way too different.

Words of wisdom and I completely agree.

People who complain that the animation is not absolute perfection, do not know the industry and don’t consider the time and work involved.

They also don’t really have anything valid to complain about, so complaining about “bad animation” is a generic topic to mention.

They all sound like spoiled complainers.

If they want a reboot, then they should do it themselves.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

My friend of course the animation matters a lot, in fact it’s one of the most important things an anime needs in order to be considered good, do you think this power point animation will give you the same experience or excitement that the one you feel when you watch kimetsu, jjk or SNK ? I have to say I’m really disappointed with the treat A-Cat or whatever gave to this manwha, it feels like they just did it on purpose because they have made way better woks than this, not at the level of the big companies but yeah there is no way they couldn’t have done it better.

“power point animation”, this is totally over the top and obviously untrue.

I don’t have any respect for this kind of complaint.

Can you actually point out specific valid points that support your claim of the animation being bad?

Oh wow!! So much animation over here.

Let me be a bit technical. Standard animation is usually anywhere between 12-24 frames per second. This is what is called 2s and 1s respectively in the industry. What we see here is 1 frame every 2-3 seconds with a slight effects like impact lines and moving bavkground to "Simulate" movement, while there is no movement what so ever. This is literally like using 2 images (1 as foreground and other as background) in a powerpoint slide and adding in-app animations. This is not talent, but a cheap and lazy way to complete a project, a night before the deadline.

So in no way is this standard animation and in no way anybody could even call this mid animation.

I swear a highschool club project would look much better than this abomination...

You're definitely not alone in feeling let down by the adaptation—A-Cat really dropped the ball with this one. While story and characters are the core of any good anime, animation plays a huge role in bringing that world to life, especially for something as action-heavy and emotionally charged as Saikyou no Ousama. When the visuals don’t match the tone or intensity of the story, it just doesn’t hit the same.

As for the chances of a reboot... realistically, they're pretty slim unless the IP becomes a breakout hit in another medium (like a successful mobile game or the manhwa surging in popularity). God of High School, as you mentioned, had a similar issue—tons of hype but no redo, despite the complaints.

So yeah, it's a bit of a gamble. If you really want to experience the story at its best, maybe hold off and see if there's any traction for a reboot down the line—but just know it might be a long wait, or may never happen.

At the end of the day, we all just want adaptations that do justice to the source material. Sadly, not every series gets that level of care.

Thank you for the link to a scene and explaining in more detail. Perhaps I’m not understanding what you mean.

Are you saying that they wasted 2-3 seconds with less frame rates, to avoid animating more frames per second, making it a filler to use up more time?

Could it be possible that they did that to spend more time on other scenes?

Or are you saying they are just being lazy?

I’ll be honest, I don’t really think the fight scenes are the main focus of this anime, but the story, so I really didn’t have any problem with the limited frame rates, I wasn’t watching this anime for the fight scenes.

I totally agree, it never makes sense to me.

The anime fight scene someone sent me to watch … it was so obvious, that animating the fighting was not their focus, but saving time and frames for other more important scenes.

Plus, how they animated the actions characters made, was expressed enough in the quick and limited amount of frames that were used.

I actually think this was pretty clever from an anime production viewpoint.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really think the fight scenes are the main focus of this anime, but the story, so I really didn’t have any problem with the limited frame rates, I wasn’t watching this anime for the fight scenes.

First and foremost, the show is more inclined towards action, as this is a power fantasy just like Solo leveling. Focuses on how Arthur gets stronger over time, more than his relationships with different people. So even if in the beginning, it looks like a story oriented show, this is still action focused show in the upcoming episodes.

I definitely meant them not drawing enough frames to show proper motion. Now, wether it was them being lazy or saving resources for other scenes is up to you to speculate. But I think the former is true. Just dont go around telling people they are wrong, when they complain this show in particular has a power point animation. Because that is what it is.

wether you watch it for the story or action, I dont care. If you enjoy the story, good for you. I'm not gonna question you for doing that or try ruin your enjoyment.

The reason I disputed it, is because people going around saying “Power Point Animation” does not convey nearly what you explained to me as being the actual issue, which is far more in depth than this claim makes it seem.

Thanks for explaining, I’ll keep what you said in mind in the future.

I guess I put more attention on the story than the animation, because even if the animation is the perfectly best and most advanced, if the story is not good, it is not worth even watching in my mind.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

This webtoon ins't that good, of course they won't invest big money on it, the history feels more like a disney prince/princess movie and it's not that appealling for the majority of anime viewers so they don't expect much from it. Accept the truth and stop being a crybaby.

My friend of course the animation matters a lot, in fact it’s one of the most important things an anime needs in order to be considered good, do you think this power point animation will give you the same experience or excitement that the one you feel when you watch kimetsu, jjk or SNK ? The things you mentioned are very important as well, but animation is one of the 3 more important aspects of any anime.

I have to say I’m really disappointed with the treat A-Cat or whatever gave to this manwha, it feels like they just did it on purpose because they have made way better woks than this, not at the level of the big companies but yeah there is no way they couldn’t have done it better.

i mostly agree but animation is a lot more important in an action series where a lot of emotional beats are gonna be within fights. If an anime is a about like, a dude and his cat it's ok if it's stiff but an action series like this bad/stiff animation can really take you out if what is happening. I think action series should be at least invincible levels to be engaging.

Just read the manhwa, the art is great even if a bit wonky at the beginning. If you're stubborn about reading you just won't get to experience the story within it's best form, or even at all.

@DarttheLegend Agreed. I don't get what everyone's problem is with this one show in particular XD

If something isn't mind-blowing, it's bad apparently. I've noticed this coming up a lot lately. If something isn't as good as JJK or Solo Leveling (ew), it's a waste of time and simply not worth watching. Also, according to some, if something isn't like ultra popular in the west, it's not even worth acknowledging. When tf did that become the case? I think like three or two months ago there was this one dude complaining about a show getting another season. They went on about how the show was a waste of time and how it should be cancelled because it wasn't even popular, but it turns out it was, just not that much in the US. From what I heard, that series in particular is pretty popular in Japan and parts of Asia, but I guess none of that matters? lol

And same on anime becoming mainstream btw. It just opened the floodgates to losers that need every show to have "god-tier" animation or some BS, or it's "bad" and "a waste of time". I really wish that wasn't the case, but with how newer fans have been behaving, it's kind of hard to not hate the fact that anime has become so mainstream. It's now gotten to a point where one loser in particular thought it was a good idea to start a whole petitiion, just to cancel this show, and remake the whole thing... I couldn't believe it when I read about it LMAO this is actually hilarious.

@DarttheLegend I am an oldie (check my MAL), but TBATE animation is lazy. I 100% support animes which are subpar in the animation part because of budget issues (like Villainess Level 99), but TBATE or something like Yakuza House Husband or Maou McD Employee S2, you cannot just F up the animation, it's just being lazy or straight up hating the work.

And bad animation is not a good thing, there's a reason Highschool DxD never got a newer season even after being so famous, only because they F*cked the animation last time.

Now you're just making shit up. I have never seen anyone on the Japanese side make a fuss about it as much as people here did, so claiming the anime never continued until now solely because of the design change is completely unfounded.

“Being different”? What? LMAO

Standard and average are synonyms, they are words with the same meaning. So no, “standard” is not “above average.” Y’all are literally insane for caring this much about not seeing some flashing lights and explosions. You don’t like “good” animation, you like “overstimulating” animation.

@Oongbuh brother, check the sales of DxD BlueRays after the anime finished airing, it was near 8000~, the average was near 30,000 for previous seasons. That's exactly what killed the show. Source: Twitter post from an Insider which I saw in the DxD subreddit few years ago.

That is definitely not "Standard" animation. Calling it that is an insult to the anime industry itself!! A simple google search now gives you AI generated answers from various sources.

@V1P3R0P Why the hell you are posting AI slop? Especially when it looks like it's just using the opinions of the echo chambers rather than giving an actual unbiased opinion

Why the hell not? Even the AI is "smart" enough to tell "This is bad" based on multiple opinions. If there wss anything relatively good about the animation, there would've been mixed opinions.

Call this a fucking echo chamber all you want, Thats the only copium you guys got rn!!

Oh right, its the "I'm interesting and cool because I think differently from mainstream opinions" mentality over here.... makes sense.
