Voice actress Fairouz Ai has announced her return to work after a hiatus due to health concerns. On Tuesday, she revealed that she has transferred to Mausu Promotion following her departure from Raccoon Dog on March 31. The voice actress had been limiting her activities since December 31, 2024, after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Fairouz shared the news on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, "Following my doctor's diagnosis, I am lifting all activity restrictions and resuming work as of today." She also expressed gratitude to those who supported her, saying, "I deeply appreciate everyone who helped me restart in a new environment."

In her statement, Fairouz extended her heartfelt thanks to fans, acknowledging their patience and kindness during her hiatus. "You did not pressure me to return or speculate about my condition; instead, you simply waited with kindness. Your warm letters gave me strength, and I am truly grateful," she wrote. She further reassured supporters that she would continue facing her work and personal growth with determination.

Fairouz Ai is best known for her roles as Jolyne Kuujou in JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Stone Ocean (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean), Hibiki Sakura in Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?), Power in Chainsaw Man, Kikoru Shinomiya in Kaijuu 8-gou (Kaiju No. 8), and Delta in Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! (The Eminence in Shadow). She won the Best New Actress Award at the 14th Seiyuu Awards in 2020.

Her initial hiatus was announced in December 2024, when her agency disclosed that she had developed PTSD and would be prioritizing her recovery under medical guidance. At the time, Fairouz asked for privacy regarding the cause of her condition and expressed regret over the concern her hiatus caused.

@deg this is a pretty inappropriate comment to make, did you not read how much she appreciates people not speculating?

Ptsd and every kind of mental problem is serious stuff and I am more than glad to hear these news but at the same time I know that these kind of situations very unfortunately from personal experience, if they are serious (like she led us to believe) aka they are in a severe state take light years longer to heal and even longer if they have to do with ptsd. I thought I would the last person to say this but this will be the last time I will take this kind of hiatus announcements seriously from young VAs in the future.
