 The Yuusha-kei ni Shosu: Choubatsu Yuusha 9004-tai Keimu Kiroku (Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004) special stage at the Kadokawa Live Station at AnimeJapan 2025 revealed the main staff, the first key visual (pictured), and the first promotional video on Sunday. Kadokawa began publishing the title under its Dengeki no Shinbungei label with illustrations by Mephisto in September 2021 and released the seventh volume on January 17. Natsumi Inoue began serializing a manga adaptation in Dengeki Comic Regulus in March 2022. Kadokawa published the second volume in April 2024. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English this February and published the third volume on August 20. The fourth volume is planned to be released on May 20.
