'Mayonaka Heart Tune' TV Anime Unveils Main Cast, Staff

The Mayonaka Heart Tune (Tune In to the Midnight Heart) special stage at the NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan booth at AnimeJapan 2025 revealed the main cast, staff, a voiced version of the first promotional video on Sunday. The television anime adapting Masakuni Igarashi's showbiz-themed romantic comedy manga will air in 2026.

Nene Himekawa: Rumi Ookubo (Gamers!)
Iko Kirino: Sayumi Suzushiro (Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai)
Shinobu Uzuki: Miku Itou (5-toubun no Hanayome)

Staff
Director: Masayuki Takahashi (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro)
Series Composition: Yukie Sugawara (Overlord)
Character Design: Tomoyuki Shitaya (2.5-jigen no Ririsa)
Studio: Gekkou

Igarashi began serializing the manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in September 2023, approximately 3.5 years after concluding Senryuu Shoujo. Kodansha published the eighth volume on March 17.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in July 2024. The first volume is planned for a May 6 release. The company also simulpublishes the manga on its K Manga app and website.

The first looks at the trailer look great and all... But Studio Gekkou for this masterpiece of a manga 💀... Can we petition for CloverWorks or even A-1 Pictures to animate this instead??! Is it too late yet??

Even the PV looks as basic as it could've, if not worse. Not like this third rate studio animating this is the end of world but yeah, it deserved better.

Gonna wait till actually seeing the product to judge but with the director and studio's past record doesn't spark much hope. The manga's just 69 chapters in. They rushed in for an adaptation and didn't manage to get any good studio, staff. Every good studio is full with projects after all.
