Do you still enjoy and feel strong emotions when you watch an anime, even if you're accidentally exposed to spoilers? For example, do you still feel sad or moved even though you know what's going to happen?

Of course it depends on the story and spoiler. Anyway, it doesn't usually ruin my watching experiences. I can usually still enjoy the show even if I accidentally got spoiled about something.

I like knowing spoilers so I avoid Akame ga Kill type ends. I liked Code Geass end regardless.

I can still feel very strong emotions when watching something even if I'm spoiled, but it definitely worsens in some way or form the experience.
From Demon Slayer I was spoiled about
and even though it still hit me like a train I would have definitely preferred to not know that.
Jujutsu Kaisen's constant spoilers when I was watching season 2, especially towards the last episodes really ruined a lot of my enjoyment of the show and it basically forced me to go read the manga (which still didnpt save from the weekly leaks).

That spoiler just felt impossible to avoid, and I was almost getting sick of the hyperbolic reactions.

When I finally got to that moment, I didn't really feel anything. I've always thought that the arc simply wasn't very well-written, but now I wonder if it was because I knew it was coming...

I feel like if a spoiler ruins a story, that's because it relies on theme park like shock value rather than quality storytelling. There were also times where I got spoiled on certain events, but people didn't reveal the context of the scene so it still hit me like a boomerang.

Depends what type of spoilers we're talking about.
I mean it's difficult to avoid the spoilers related to the addition of a new cast member in seasonals, and those do not bother me much.
Now then, if it's a really big twist in a story, I'd rather not learn that before watching the actual show.

Yup. If I didn't spoil myself many death's in JJBA [that's my fault XD], they would have hit much harder. Most of the time, if I know someone will die, It's harder for me to cry and I hate it haha

That's the thing being spoilt: the emotional response - whether surprise, sadness, joy etc.

It's possible, but not most of the time. It's rare for good storytelling to rely that much on surprises.

Obviously Spoilers will take the element of surprise away, but emotions? Not really, I can still enjoy the show normally like I didn't get spoil. I still say that watching without knowing anything is still the best.

Yes, spoilers certainly affect the experience negatively. They don't necessarily ruin it completely, though. Information is one thing, but the visual presentation of a scene in an anime often matters most. It sucks to be spoiled, especially when you did not expect to see a spoiler, but remember that the final scene can still convey a lot of emotions by its music, direction, visuals. Story is just one part of this anime exposition puzzle.

However, there are genres that heavily rely on mystery. In those cases, being spoiled can significantly diminish the intended emotional impact of a scene. In general, if a product is well-made (and this isn't limited to anime), spoilers shouldn't fundamentally change one's perception of its overall quality. The plot twist from that one Star Wars movie (Episode V, to be exact) has become a part of popular culture, so many people are exposed to it before even watching the movie itself. Still, this knowledge does not prevent them from enjoying it and re-watching it multiple times. But when the primary appeal (like, absolutely primary appeal, lol) lies in surprise, emotional impact, a dramatic twist, or any similar element (whether perceived positively or negatively by viewers), then, as I said, being spoiled definitely reduces the overall enjoyment.

i will give u my 2 expeirience
1- I was spoiled about the ending of plastic memories, and it helped me prepare for what was about to come in the last ep. I felt sad but i cherished their journey
2- Mirrai Nikki and SukaSuka, those end came out of nowhere and i was pretty much disturbed for a week or so.
Imo spoiler ( if its a sad one) just might help u prepare for the ineveitable and lets you see the characters interaction with a much deeper meaning. U find meaning in their action and why they r doing that

Depends on what's spoiled, plot twist and death spoilers usually ruin the surprise feeling.

Spoilers do not bother me at all, and before watching an anime, I usually consume a significant of plot information to determine it suitability for me.

I don't believe in rewatch value: if something is truly good, it will still be good on a rewatch.

By extension this also applies in case of spoilers. With that said, unwanted spoilers are still annoying of course.

@perseii In the first place, I don't think that Demon Slayer relies on "good writing" to convey emotions, so I actually think that being spoiled for DS is kind of a weird experience. Like ironically enough being spoiled doesn't really matter for me because I don't watch DS for the story, but for the emotional and visual spectacle that Ufotable manages to create. But a the same time, DS does rely on the shock factor aspect for gut punching your feelings, so being spoiled should hinder your experience. I think it just depends on every situation.
Like I think in my case being spoiled of death hasn't really ruined the emotions I felt in any case that has happened: One Piece
, Attack on Titan
, etc.

Why does someone make threads about spoilers every week? They don't bother me I've hardly seen any.
99% of 'spoiler' is some kid who "read the manga" they basically don't belong in the anime community because they're obsessed with manga and usually hate anime adaptations; they'll spew stuff about what's coming next but I never care, cuz it's usually some insignificant scene, those people usually miss the point of a story, anyway.

Most spoilers lack any CONTEXT for me to understand til I've seen it.
No teenager on the internet has ever ruined a show for me.
The only manga adaptation I'm watching is Ubel Blatt, so if some kid wants to say Landgrave Zipshalooghdiarsgholablast gets murdered 3 episodes from now, I'll just laugh because someone with a silly name gets sliced in half every 5 minutes in that show; and I know the animation will be shit anyway so won't care.

Like this is another one I'd laugh if someone tried to spoil- what are they going to say, "the demon gets killed at the end of the fight haha" REALLY?
I knew that before they started. Unless it's something happening to Nezuko (you know the scene) but still, without context seeing what led up to it, I wouldn't care that much. Well it did have some decent impact because nobody had spoiled it for me, but if
that would actually have been way more profound....
