Yay they are married I guess...
I'm sad it's over. This was disappointing for a final chapter.
Didn't even feel like one. We saw close to nothing of their romantic relationship.

that was outanowhere rushed ending, but considering mangaka health has been declining for last few years, i thinks it's for the best. she has been lamenting a lot in the last few volume extras about it. the series too focused on cosplay stuff (which not my thing) and some questionable drama with messy pacing has been my issue. but it has solid characters and relationship with good development. the series also lack of impact, felt playing too safe so it doesn't left me with long lasting impression. i still enjoy reading it throughout the years. 8/10. enjoy the journey, not gonna miss it tho.

Definition of so much wasted potential. Was one of my favorites, but now..... I'm not even mad about it, just disappointed, extremely disappointed.

This series had nothing special to it and this last chapter somehow proved that point as well. I mean not like the chapters preceding this one didn't already made the point but yeah, the least they could've done was to give a 40-50 page chapter, though nah, guess that's too much of an effort to be wasted on a series like this lmaoo.

Seriously, I don't even know what to say. They didn't even show us the graduation or sort... just that the two of them are married now, which is as low effort of an ending as it could've been. When you don't even remember a single side character, by name.. forget about face, that tells a LOT about how things might have worked in this series lol.

We had sooooo many chapters where literally nothing happened and then a couple of chapters where a lifetime of things happened.. I'm just glad this is over. As you see, from sweating buckets over hand holding to marriage.. within 2 chapters. That's some guinness world record feat lmaoooooooooooo.

Happy for Gojo and Marin, but man was that disappointing. I kept refreshing to make sure I wasn't missing a page because my only thoughts by the end were "that's it?"

I understand finishing is hard to do, but it's crazy that so many big name manga are ending on such terrible chapters. Hopefully the epilogue rumor is true and it fixes some of this.

I still find it crazy that we went from them not even being able to say eachothers first names to the ending that quickly

Definitely a rushed ending, but tbh I get it. Health issues aside, it's ultimately really difficult to write something for 7 years and not get sick of it/maintain a clear vision for the series. I'd rather something like this over drawing it out amidst a bunch of hiatuses. It was a good ride while it lasted and the ending we got was kinda sweet.

AHAHAHAHA THAT'S IT? It just ended. It dragged for MONTHS with no meaningful development whatsoever and then just ended in a blink of an eye. Good riddance I guess.

A bit of constructive criticism: it should've ended the moment they've started dating. Not a moment later.

This manga was a lot of fun to read, I loved the characters in the series and I'm happy that everything worked out with Gojo and Marin, but this final chapter was a terrible final chapter. :/

A romance manga meandering slowly into an abrupt, unsatisfying ending: a tale as old as time.

Still, some extras & and an epilogue to look forward to by the looks of things which might soften the blow...

I will say, though, that when I saw the framed picture of the grandpa I had to put my phone down briefly because I thought they'd killed him off lmao. It was a great bait & switch.

What a waste of 7 years. My gosh! it took 7 years to produce 115 chapters of mediocre story and art!? What took the mangaka so long because it obviously wasn't storyboarding.

We spent a year on some Nun story arc where you couldn't tell who was who and then practically another year on "Muh Pwincess". Thank god that this wasn't just another chapter deifying Marin.

This manga started so good and it's just floundered because of the mangaka's inability to write male characters.

@IzanaSolos I agree with you, but I think the reason that it ended the way it did, was probably the publisher cancelling the manga (not officially at least). Thus the mangaka rushing the last few chapters. The last 50 chapters has just been stretching the story with no significant developments causing readers to drop it.

It´s a shame it ended the way it did, since it was a decent manga at the start. I really hope S2 of the anime is popular enough to have a third season then by that time hopefully the mangaka can go all-original and changes how it ended. I can only hope the extra and epilogue chapters have something worthy of a finale.

It´s funny how big manga titles in the recent years have been getting utterly shit endings, it sort of feels like there´s a competition between the mangakas of who can make the worst ending. While small manga titles have actually ended with a great finales.

If the Nun and "Pwincess" arcs are anything to go off I don't want an anime original ending by the Mangaka.

Ending wasn't bad, it's just the lack of content made me drop it's rating. It's understandable author doesn't has much ideas to come up with and all... what a way to end, I'm really speechless

The final chapter itself wasn't that bad. They got married everyone became successful even the grandpa lived for this long. But yes just and end for a sake of end quite similar too Oshi No Ko. Disappointing end to two manga I absolutely loved from start.

After creating one of the best couples and one of the best waifu, mangaka complety dropped the ball. Dragged out meaningless drama and just when it got good he ended it just like that. They got married and happy ending so that's something ig. I am gonna miss Marin & Gojo it was great while it lasted.

I unfortunately wasn't one of the people that had been following this series from the start, seven years ago. But I'm glad that the anime peaked my interest enough for me to pick up the manga!

My favorite part was the art itself. Fukuda-chan is an amazing artist with a very unique and aesthetically pleasing art-style. Kept me flipping the pages one by one.

The story and characters were relatable and heartwarming. Keeping me engaged for the last three years now. I'm very sad to see the series come to an end now but the final chapter was, in my opinion, a perfect end to the love story between Wakana and Marin. I will miss them dearly.

LOL... wow man, what a horrendous final chapter. I really didn't think author could do something worse than whatever that 50 chapter stretch of nothing until recently was, but yeah, they somehow did. So instead of, you know, showing us the wedding for the FINAL chapter... spend the chapter showing the fam eating sushi, because we wanted to soooo clearly over the wedding.

Never thought this series was ever all that to begin with, and the anime definitely elevated at least what it adapted, but jeez did this series take a turn for the worst afterward. There's better cosplay romcom manga out there... trust me. I have no idea why season two is hyped up, but yeah, it is. If there is one thing I will give it though, man does Marin look good in future, that's for sure.

Overall, a very low 6 on this manga, here's to hoping that the anime skips most of the filler that happened and redeems the ending... but it won't, so.

there is gonna be a epilogue

I liked it. Plain, simple, direct... A very fulfilling life for people who went through a long journey of self discovery. They deserved it.
Even though I don't agree with people saying it was bad, I do feel like the author decided to end the series out of the blue. He wasn't gonna be able to pull out another cosplay in the same level of Haniel, so feels like a good point to pack everything up, but in this case, he really messed up showing those guys involved on Mandate of Heaven, there was no pay off.

Nonetheless, for most of the time it has been an fun read, and has many merits, so I'll settle for a 7.5/10

After 7 series of serialization, My Dress Up Darling has finished at 115 chapters, HOWEVER, an epilogue chapter, and 1 or more side story chapters are being written for the final volume (#15 - Probably Around May 2025). I only heard about the series in 2020, but I had a great time with it. If I had to list criticisms, I wish it had gone on longer and showed more of the relationship instead of rushing to the end. Either way, I had a great time with it.

Hopefully, the author's next work hooks us. No confirmation on when it'll happen, but I hope it does. To all my fellow readers, thanks for sharing this series with me. See you for the Epilogue, the side story chapter, and in other manga discussions. Later. Happy Reading.

Que final medíocre e enxuto em.... pelo amor de deus, se for pra acabar assim poderiam ter terminado no cap 114;-;
Mas veja por outro lado, pelo menos não acabou com um Plot twist maluco ou um Cliffhanger bizarro, isso eu aprecio honestamente

Well that was definitely an ending! Hey, no NTR so I'm a happy camper! Jokes aside, still got some wholesome and lovely final illustrations of Gojou and Marin together. But man, why so fast? Why are so many romcom authors these days so afraid of showcasing some post love shenanigans. Wanted to see if that one photographer was able to find out the ice queen was Marin, a few loose ends not tied, and a HUUUGE timeskip leaves me wanting more, but not in the good way. Hopefully the epilogue clears up some of this at least. Overall a pretty great series, brought down by a couple of not so good arcs, but saved by its themes, art, cute romance (when it's there), and cosplay autism.

Wonder what the author is going to do now?

I'd rather take a serious hiatus so the epilogue could be long enough to quickly close off some plot points, and be at least a bit more elaborate on the stage progression (like a compilation maybe) of Gojo/Marin relationship. But this? Regardless of the circumstances, the ending was simply disrespectful.

Did anyone else get scared when they saw the framed photo of Gramps? Thought something bad had happened to him for a moment there 😅😮‍💨

Anyway, my personal rating for this series dropped from an 8/10 in the first half or so to 6/10 in the second half. There was too much "nothing" going on for 50+ chapters and the ending indeed feels abrupt and rushed. The confession was only, what, 10 chapters ago and suddenly we're jumping into married life? Disappointing ending for sure, despite the fact that it's a happy one. Would've been more satisfying to see more of Marin and Wakana's relationship before seeing them married! So much lost potential for cute couple moments. We got only one kiss, ffs. (Also, they're finally on a first name basis, but still using honorifics... really??)

Plus, it annoys me that they didn't address whether Marin was going to go pro as a cosplayer or not. A few chapters ago she was interrupted when she tried to bring it up with Wakana, so I'd assumed that conversation would be resumed. But it's just left as a loose end 😕
