I rarely ever hear it discussed here, but I heard it was a much more relevant series outside of North America. What are your feelings on this series?

Part of me wants to watch it, but the other part...

Yeah, I don't know if I can look past that. 🤮

I watched when i was young, it's good for a sports anime but i don't care much about football.

Haven't seen that one so far. Maybe I should give it a try.

Don't know much about it beyond the fact that it exists.

I thought any of the hype around NFTs has died out by now. What the hell?

"What do you think about Captain Tsubasa?"

It's a demonstration of what I don't like in sport shounen.

"much more relevant series outside of North America"

Soccer (aka the actual football) is not that popular in North America isn't it?

I only watched it a little as a kid, it's very trite and repetitive.

I watched it as a kid. Pretty amusing show. I was not a huge fan of it, but I liked to watch it when it aired on TV. My friends enjoyed it too, so it was fun when we met to play football and tried to recreate certain moments from it in real life, hehe. Also, "Captain Tsubasa" apparently inspired a lot of professionals to play football.

Back in 1988, I watched the first anime as a kid on French TV. All French boys loved it at the time.

In 2002, I watched "Road to 2022", again on French TV.

I have fond memories but now I don't really care for the franchise, though.

I liked the remake up until it became a tournament anime, at which point it became boring.
