So they weren't even trying to name this?

I refuse to believe this isn't being forced on the industry

it is generic, but my question will the dragon that the main character picks up will have flapping animation at all since in the manga it just floats there.

I think what surprises me the most is that this apparently won awards? The synopsis sounds so generic, it's hard to believe.

One day people will stop thinking that they have enough knowledge about work after reading the synopsis and discussing the tropes found there, but that’s another story.

@RobertBobert To be fair though, in regards to what I said; the synopsis is what's supposed to sell me on a series, get me interested enough to check it out. This synopsis fails at doing that, it makes it seem incredibly generic. From the provided synopsis I wouldn't guess that the series is award winning. I've checked the manga page and it seems people think the series does pretty well with its character writing? So maybe that's why it won awards, I was just pointing out that the synopsis was weak.

@deltahalo241 It’s one thing to give a general preliminary opinion about the story after reading synopsis, another thing to behave after reading the synopsis as if you had already read the whole work or watched the whole show and know the work for 100% after that.

"[Masuo] Kinoko's original novel A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai won both the Grand Prize and the Readers' Prize of the 9th Alphapolis Fantasy Novel Award in 2016. Alphapolis started publishing the novel series in January 2017, with the 16th volume released in Japan on March 30. The manga adaptation illustrated by Tomozo has released eight volumes since November 2018."

source: https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/latest/2025/5/12/a-gatherers-adventure-in-isekai-tv-anime-october-2025-premiere

so this LN series is: "Originally published online since July 2016, AlphaPolis have published sixteen volumes of the series since January 2017. A manga adaptation illustrated by Tomozo began serialization online via AlphaPolis' manga website in December 2017 and has been collected in eight tankōbon volumes. The manga is published digitally in English through Alpha Manga. An anime television series adaptation produced by Tatsunoko Production and SynergySP is set to premiere in October 2025."

source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Gatherer%27s_Adventure_in_Isekai

according to an ANN article: "Kinoko launched the light novel series on the AlphaPolis platform in December 2017. AlphaPolis shipped the 15th volume in March 2024, and the 16th volume will ship on March 17. The series has 1.73 million copies in circulation (including digital copies), and it won both the grand prize and the readers' choice award in the 9th AlphaPolis Fantasy Novel Prizes."

the 'online start date' is up for debate, but LN physical publishing for Vol1 was January 31, 2017. it IS an 8-YEAR-old series... plus after a 1-year break between Vol15 March 31, 2024 and Vol16 March 30, 2025 (same Wiki article) AND getting the anime announcement March 9, 2025 (https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/latest/2025/3/10/a-gatherers-adventure-in-isekai-tv-anime-adaptation-announced) AND a big live-event on May 10th (https://x.com/sozaisaishu/status/1921442545545912619)...

apparently, the anime is getting a rather BIG push from GENCO the production company who is 'footing the bill'. the May 11th live event wasn't the FIRST one, but actually the SECOND one. the first one was back in March on the 22nd and 23rd (https://www.sozaisaishu-pr.com/news/post-40).

so somebody out there reeeeally wants this anime.
