Nice episode, I predicted last week that he would trip and fall or something similar and they would kiss and Chinatsu would see it. However, they didn't actually kiss. I think She is smart enough to know that they didn't but of course, its still going to be playing on her mind.

I feel so bad for Hina though. They really would make a good couple and I think that Kyou is spot on about Taiki having some romantic feelings for Hina. However, because of his feelings for Chinatsu, he can't bring himself to look at Hina that way.

Chinatsu moves back into the house. Hopefully their relationship becomes more stronger and closer than ever. Only 5 more episodes to go folks! See you next week.

Outside of prepping for a role that he knows nothing off the kiss has to be the hardest part. Snow white as a play though has always been popular. Taiki and Hina just have so much chemistry there that its hard not to see them as a couple. Looks like we finally get to meet Ayame. Without the accident Taiki's performance would defo had gotten better. If anything if Taiki doesn't think carefully he could end up screwing the bond he has with both girls.

I was curious to see how this show would handle the classic "substituted into the class play at the last minute" trope, and even with the Chekhov's Confetti Ball, it kinda went a lot more low-key than I was expecting. I think I prefer the Masamune-kun's take.

But I guess we have a purple-haired gal to worry about now, so moving on...

Dramatic episode. The class forces Taiki to be the prince.

Smart thinking; he just messages Chinatsu to say he's gonna be acting beforehand to avoid the fireworks display situation, again.

Kyou took some liberties for the script, I think his past might have something to do with the rewrites; including having the prince meet snow white earlier to establish something before the kiss scene.

Good thing Taiki was focused on the script to not hear the discussion about female friends behind him.

That new girl Ayame looks like Jinshi+Maomao lol
Oh yeah, instantly recognise Kana Ichinose's voice.

His movements were stiff but the kiss scene went smoothly without hiccups...until the confetti ball broke too early. He shields Hina from the impact, I like last time, the mouths are more visible to the audience but the confetti made it ambiguous if they really did kiss.

Everyone's gossiping about it and Chinatsu is right there... what is she thinking? and will it have changed whatever she meant to say to Taiki during the music performance?

Well, the confetti ball didn't hurt Taiki much. I was expecting him to say "I'm glad you're safe" to Hina at least once.

Taiki really dislikes all the attention and rumours he and Hina have both gotten.

Hina wants a "fair fight" and promises to clarify things if need be. Although Taiki declares its Chinatsu whom he's in love with, his friend Kyou says it's a possibility he could 30% ;pve Hina.

Oh man, now I kinda wanna see what happened for the thread to need to be cleaned lol. That aside, this was a good one, Taiki as the prince wasn’t all that crazy but I did love seeing Hina stealing the show as Snow White, she really does dazzle in the spotlight, and of course there was the “kiss” as well, it was a well done scene but I couldn’t help but feel people should be more concerned that Taiki just got hit by the confetti ball instead of where his lips are placed lol, I guess it wasn’t very heavy but still. And it was cool of Taiki to deny the kiss claims not because of a misunderstanding with Chinatsu, but for Hina’s sake, very respectful of him.

And there’s the god’s eye Kyou out here putting ideas into Taiki’s head, he was dead set on Chinatsu but Kyou is like “okay, but what if you weren’t?” and Taiki’s world is flipped upside down lol, I’m glad Kyou did that to make things more interesting but Taiki didn’t really need that on his plate too, I’m sure the lad can handle it tho. And lastly, finally Ayame appeared, I’ve been wondering when she comes in since there’s only 5 episodes left and she’s in the key visual, looks like her time has come at last, and boy her two scenes really left an impression, she’s super pretty and intriguing, I’m interested in seeing what she brings to the table this far into the love triangle.

Hmm, 100% Chinatsu and 30% Hina (IMO it should be the other way around but it is what it is).

While I don't think they actually kissed I'm sure it's in the back of Chinatsu's head so I think Taiki will tell her at some point. Also, there's a new girl that was introduced which surprised me considering this is nearing the end of the season. Maybe this new girl will help push Taiki to either Hina or Chinatsu but hopefully not to herself.

@Alfredo-Sauce Kyou was wrong, It's 100% Chinatsu. Taiki doesn't have romantic feelings for Hina. He will realize it in ep 23. He wants to be with Chinatsu. Love triangle will end in ep 24.

The play was fun but ended up disastrous. But, they did their best with the last-minute replacement. And, now the rumors are going around the school if the kiss actually happened or if Hina and Taiki are actually dating. Poor Hina. This is much more hard for Hina than it looks like. Taiki needs to make things clear sooner. It's not good for both of them to feel this way. It will only hurt them.

No kiss, Taiki getting mad at the rumors of him and Hina dating, Chinatsu returning to the Inomata household... man, this sure wasn't a good episode for the Hina bros.

And also, what's the deal with this Ayame chick? Not even three minutes of screentime and I'm already feeling rather concerned about her.

Taiki is put in a tough spot again. Though, he should really stand up for himself more like in this episode. If he can do that to himself, then his decisions will be easier. Of course, this is teen romance...and the anime is following the trials of it quite stereotypically. Nothing wrong with that. It makes for good drama.

Taiki really can’t catch a break here, poor guy. However, that text he sent to Chinatsu before the play was unnecessarily vague for no reason.

I’m happy to see that she’s moving back in. Hilarious that caught him off guard. He definitely is going to be about that 100% coffee.

Taiki kind of messed up and only agreed to act under pressure from the students, not out of a desire to help Hina. The play was okay, and it's certain that they didn’t kiss. Kou catches on quickly, too bad Taiki is a bit slow.

Most of the episode was an average, cute story, but that confetti ball incident was too contrived for me to suspend my disbelief, and it kinda took me out of the story. Also, it was too obvious that they didn't kiss for me to care, and it made the students look like sociopaths for being more concerned with that than with Taiki's well-being.

Taiki's fortune is about to turn for the worse for his perfect culture festival...force to be the Prince for the play with Hina. Literally, he's the only free guy, and to have to (fake) kiss Hina, the girl who has a crush on him the longest time, Taiki has to do it by hook or by crook.

With limited time, and stage fright to perform on stage, Taiki doesn't instill confidence, especially on the pretend-kiss part, where his decision hangs in the balance to not make it look awkward. With the performance ready to go, Taiki and Hina's class performs to their very best, especially Taiki being called on the last minute, and Hina helping him to calm down and get things in proper. Alas, even with Kyo being on the sldelines to assess the love triangle, Taiki being choppy on the early stage helps a bit to establish his presence on stage, and calmly goes over the kiss scene proper...if not for the confetti ball falling on them...and actually doing the deed?

To think that the incident would take precedence adding the rumours for gossip. both Taiki and Hina laughed it off like their usual, though whether they really kissed each other, is up to interpretation. Kyo seeking further clarity towards Taiki, given how much he is very forward with Chinatsu, and yet some of that romance being heralded to Hina, he's only going to lose the point the more he thinks about the matter, and even worse, trying to ask Chinatsu about the play.

Ayame has finally showed up...just as this love triangle only exacerbates matters even more.

Taiki and Chinatsu enjoy a concert at the school cultural festival.

Then Taiki has his fortune read by Nishida senpai which said there is a tremendous trial coming up. That trial is for Taiki to be the prince in the play opposite Hina.

I think From the audience's point of view, it should look as though they are almost face-to-face, suspended in a split second where it seems like they’re about to kiss.

And The confetti just serves to dramatize the scene. But, I understand why Taiki is upset. Cuz realistically, people often overanalyze what they see, reading too much into it.

Honestly, I think the author did a great job capturing how quickly people react and gossip about something intriguing.

there better not be some bullshit third love interest being introduced this late in this show just to ruin things. both the existing girls have been developed pretty well and it will be totally understandable to see either of them chosen. if that purple twin tail bish comes and ruins things imma be furious

By my own standards, this anime has fulfilled 100% of what I want in a show. It’s officially one of the best anime I’ve ever seen.
But this episode made me upset!! I hate coincidental events used just to force the story in a certain direction. The kiss rumor was totally pointless.

As for the wild girl… if she enters the love triangle, I bet the show will become less enjoyable.

I don’t want to be too negative, onward to episode 21!
I love slice-of-life works.

Taiki's in the play as the Prince, while Hina is Snow White. He started off awkwardly, but got into it. And then it happened, the kiss. They pretended, and it was pretty obvious. But then a confetti ball fell, hit Taiki and they almost kissed. Or so we're led to believe, as neither of them admitted that they actually kissed. But this fueled rumours that they're dating even more than before. Chinatsu saw it happen. We don't know what she thinks, though. Kyo asked if he has feelings for Hina, and got it into his head that maybe he's 100% for Chinatsu, but 30% for Hina. We also get introduced to a new character, Ayame. At home, Taiki discovers Chinatsu. She's moving back in the next day.

Well, I think we can say that this is going to make things far more difficult for Taiki, as rumours will be going around. How will Chinatsu respond? How will Taiki and Hina handle it? And who is Ayame? Ah, the plot thickens.

Like some other people on here, I too have quite a bit of sympathy for Taiki. Because not only was he put on the spot like that having a played a prince, but he didn’t even know the lines, or at least entirely. So it’s no wonder he was so nervous going in and trying to memorize them as much as he could. It’s even understandable why he walked so robotically during that opening scene. But as Hina said, he got better as the play went along, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.

However, people who certainly don’t deserve a lot of credit at all were the people responsible for changing those scenes and those lines during the play! In fact, they deserve a lot of scorn and reprimanding for messing with a classic fairytale like that! I know it’s Japan, and it’s a western fairytale, but come on! These people are entirely missing the point of these sorts of stories! It’s not supposed to be 100% realistic, considering it’s a children’sfairytale! And I’m not just talking about this one little play, but this sort of stuff has been going on way too often in recent years, and quite frankly, I am sick and freaking tired of it! Especially when it’s put on display here, in anime, which is supposed to be escape from all this bullshit! And especially because of the fact that nobody got hurt, I’m actually glad that that confetti ball crash landed during the play, considering how much it was butchered with all the changes and everything! Sure it was like two or three scenes, but those were key scenes that were changed, and had stuff added to them, and it totally changed the mood of the story! I mean, it was ridiculous!

At least there was that girl with the purple hair talking with those two other girls (who I’m not sure if they were the ones that made the changes or whatnot) who was really being the voice of reason regarding all this. And also made another good point when she was saying that she isn’t too casual, those girls are just too serious! I mean, if you feel like you need to add a scene to a children’s fairytale just because the original version of it makes you feel uncomfortable, you really are too serious! Period!

But anyways, back to the girl with the purple hair. What’s this? She’s asking about “the guy that played the prince”? I wonder what this will lead to? 😁

They FINALLY introduced the blue haired girl from the poster for the anime. But why so late? They've been a lot of characters that were more involved in the season, yet they put her on the poster? It means she's going to have a significant impact on the story from now on, or next season.
