My initial thought was if Genta has the badge in the hat they could just track it with Conan's glasses and be done with it but I guess Conan wants Genta to work for it.

This episode kinda reminds me of Blue Streak with Martin Lawrence XD. A nice little case but the culprit and the red herring were clear when she started giving a description of her daughter.

For a moment I thought this was the amusement park where this all started which probably would have been nice for a canon episode. Perhaps even a way to capture the black organization.

And speaking of the black organization it seems we are getting some canon episodes at the beginning of the year.
Notice: I read most manga in Japanese now so I'm not sure where you can read in English. Sorry in advance.

That random father at the beginning looks a lot like Kudo Shinichi at Tropical Land with that green jacket with fur collar, yellow sweater, and light blue jeans.

They revealed that retired security guard to be the criminal pretty early on...or so we were led to believe, making him look the most suspicious. If the amusement park was slated to be closed, I don't see why he couldn't have just asked to take home or outright buy some of that stuff. If I were the boss, I'd be like "You can have it. Thanks for 50 years of service."

Ayumi was being dimwitted as usual when told to stay back from what was most likely a kidnapping given the missing shoe (until it was later revealed there was never a missing girl). You'd think Ayumi would be smarter since she has personally experienced kidnappings multiple times and even been held hostage before. At any rate, where the hell did those random red shoes come from? Guessing they were new and didn't belong to anyone.

Next week, or rather, next year's new episode, looks a lot more interesting and relevant to the overall plot.

Not a fantastic note to end the year on. This episode was predictable and as by-the-numbers as they come.

As soon as the height of the suspect was mentioned, and they showed the picture of the grieving widow I thought "Yep, that's the culprit!" A fake-out where the old man was actually working with her would've been more interesting, but the show has become so sanitized in its modern era, it could never.

Another Detective Boys episode where Ayumi should be dead for being a moron and not listening.

Another episode that is too simple!
Why wait until the last day of the park's closure to wait for it to close and on a Sunday when the workers are not working, go for the jewels? Well, lack of imagination!
