Plastic models and figurines maker Kotobukiya announced a television anime adaptation of its Arcanadea model series on Friday. The anime series will air on TV Asahi and its affiliate stations. necömi, the original character designer, drew an illustration to commemorate the anime announcement and the franchise's third anniversary (pictured above).

Kotobukiya launched the sci-fi and fantasy themed plastic model series in December 2021. As of June 2024, the Arcanadea model has sold over 300,000 units.

I don't understand why Kotobukiya insists on dropping a new girlpla based anime (like) every two years since I don't think they do very well. Maybe since this one isn't mecha musume it'll do better. Regardless Elena's (the centar-girl) model is insane looking, might pick it up if this beats my expectations.

@KitsuFrost I may be confusing or ignoring something, but this is already the third or fourth such show. However, this is a small thing compared to the anime adaptation of the board game a couple of seasons ago.

@RobertBobert Oh my mistake then. Thanks for the info. I always get carried when I see cute anime girls.

@KitsuFrost No problem, this is indeed a (relatively) new trend among action all-female shows. Also, at least two of them are yuri-heavy, which is interesting.
