With Blue locks last week episode release where 2 subs were taken off, Chigiri and Niko. I was able to relate somewhat more with Chigiri.
why? here is my story -
personal story relation as a football player myself - ( you can ignore if you like)
last year, I went through ACL and Meniscus surgery after getting them tored with games played in the past. Though my surgery was 5 years late than the original injury time, I wasted all those years of not playing games and went MIA from the only sport, which I love the most. I am in a country where cricket as a sport is considered religion.
I used to stay awake late at night due to time zone differences and used to catch up live games and follow my favorite players and team for the love of the beautiful game.
The 5 years lost for not being on field and not able to reciprocate what I was learning on screen by watching pros go all the way, took a toll on my health and I gained weight by having a hectic desk Job.
I slacked off and wanted to do something about it and wanted to come back on the field and was dying crazy for a break. I had no Blue lock like environment or a person like Isagi in my life to push me.(Just as he did to Chigiri subconsciously)
After multiple re-rupture of the Ligament during those 5 years of non action on my injury except medications which were at no valve, I finally got myself operated last year for only the sole purpose of coming back on the field and but slacked off again on the post surgical re-hab due to hectic job ( was working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week).
Trust me, when blue lock season 1 came before 2022 FIFA world cup that was my motivation to get operated and now the second season is pushing me to continue my pending rehab of physiotherapy and slowly I am getting back on field. Though, I am still recovering and working on my reflexes first by starting in the Goalkeeper position.
Originally, I also played in the forward position, just like many dreamers of Blue Lock for becoming the worlds best strikers, but due to my stamina getting rusty down the years and slacking off on the workout, I can not play in my full potential.
In simple words, I am not fit enough in many ways to get the best out of me where I was netting many goals in pasts.
Tears fell off my eyes when Chigiri cried because he got a cramp and got subbed eventually for not being able to continue, because as he also slacked off on training initially in guilt, and it was important aspect of his life and that complex of not able to contribute is I can relate. Though I am not a speedster like him, neither have played national level like him, but I have played enough matches in city leagues to understand the emotion and what he went through that point of time. I am sure Chigiri will have a huge character development and will have an awesome comeback in later stages in anime. Manga readers and spoiler givers, please stay away and do not disclose anything if it's there. Lock Off!
Blue Lock Anime Opinion -
It's surely going to be the best sports anime in the next few years. It's not just an anime. It is truly a good narration, which many who complain about not having a good animation are lacking to see. Though it deserves animation like Demon Slayer or Youji Senko but it's still by far very intriguing.
It is also one of the very few anime apart from Naruto and Shingeki no Kyojin, which has pushed me to watch manga to know what is going to happen next (not a manga reader myself and not all anime can test my patience). It has a thriller spark added to it, which keeps you engaged.
I know many would disagree with me on my personal opinion of the anime here. However, I respect everybody's else's opinion as well, with no disrespect to anyone.
Thanks for reading by and handling my gibberish if you reached the end!
May you have the Ego to reach your dreams ! |
