As we all know, this season of Blue Lock has been heavily criticised because of its animation.
While I fully understand where it's coming from and I don't want to defend it, I thought instead of critisising, it would be interesting to list the things I liked after watching the first 8 episodes.

- High quality art: most, if not all, shots look great, nice lineart, colouring, expressions, effects; just beautiful art altogether

- Extended "impact" frames: they remind me of classic shonen series, like One Piece and Naruto; which, as crazy as it sounds, suits the style of Blue Lock in my opinion

- Fine use of CG: obviously, nothing to boast about, but I liked how they tried to use 3D models, like the portrayal as figures or transitions, to make it feel a bit more dynamic

- Soundtrack: it matches the mood well, and many of thee tracks are just nice in general

- Great voice acting: the voice actors are giving a fantastic performance, as always

- Good pacing: nothing seems dragged out nor too fast, it feels just fine

- Engaging: despite the fact that Blue Lock deserves better animation, it's still engaging for me, and I enjoy the series due to its storytelling

It's obvious that the studio tried its best to work with the limited time and resources it had access to to make this season.
Again, Blue Lock deserves better, and there are no excuses for rushing the project just to make money off it faster; but I still got enjoyment out of it, meaning that - at least for me - it's far from being a terrible anime.

Let me know if I missed any positives, and I'm also to happy to read proper counter-arguments.

tbh the impact frames aren't impactful at all, and the CG is irritating, still I agree with other points

the cgi's not good, it's not even acorded to the animation frames per second, but i agree with the rest

It's actually crazy how I am not bothered by it. Sure, it could've been even better with fluid animation, but the style and OST are enough to elevate the manga hype.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Agree with most points but those foot CG they use really annoy me and impact frames what there were "impact" frames this season? Lol I might have not noticed one then.

Season 1 already had animation problems and it didn't seem to bother most people this second season is just rating bombed, personnally while it could look better i enjoy this new season a lot, the new characters are really cool and the main match is pretty fucking good for the moment.

i’ve felt like this since the season started pretty much like i did clown on the animation but i still looked at the plot. blue lock is such a good manga and anime , do i think the animation should be better ? yes i do but
overall its still such an amazing series and hearing people talk about how they truly hate it for the animation sucks cus the studio is honestly trying their best with the resources they have.
