| @tchitchouan if it really is a top-tier story it doesn't even need much animation (for example LotGH has great story and never needed good animation because it was a grounded tale of space politics) |

| okay story with good animation would still be something I would rate 7/10, but a good story with stiff animation can be anything from 9 to 10. Of course animation or at least good art certaintly enchance a story and I prefer too look at something, that's at least moving - still I like a lot of shows that aren't that well animated + there were anime that could have been at least a 7, but weren't thanks to the art [even with the meh story, if the animation or art was at least something more engaging to look at I would rate it higher] |
| Both need to be balanced. Otherwise the anime will suffer quite a bit or a lot. Unless it's an artistic choice, where you may get away with inferior animation but great story. |

| Not sure about "powerful", but I tried 2 anime (I'll avoid mentioning titles so not to upset anyone). 1st work had bad animation, but interesting story. I finished it, it was interesting. 2nd work had good animation, but bad story. I couldn't bear watching it 15 minutes. So for me story is more "powerful", because this way it's like at least you read/watch interesting book with bad pictures. |

| Anime is a visual medium, so animation is the better stat to invest in. But there needs to be a balance, you don’t want to be a tryhard dex katana user only to get destroyed. Be a strength main with enough int and faith to cast your buffing spells. |

| @tchitchouan Sounds like a step up from visual novels which are literally like watching a slideshow. Doesn't prevent the stories from being engaging. But I wouldnt expect a bikiki armor obsessed degenerate to understand that. |

| For the most part, story. It is rare that an anime has a good one with also being plain unwatchable, I don't think I ever found a case of the sorts actually. |
| Well, I mostly watch anime for the animation, although I sometimes enjoy the plots of anime, too. |
