Vampire Hunter D (2000) 5/10
　Mini Review: Already knew this movie was probably not going to be my "cup of tea" especially it being a Madhouse anime despite that the art style and overall vibes of the movie made watching it fairly enjoyable. Despite being tagged as a horror, something I only watch on my own terms when I'm actually in the mood for it, I was glad to see it was the type of horror I could sit through without needing a break. Honestly, my only real critique is I wish the dub audio was louder than the background music!!
Pingu in the City (2018) 7/10
　Mini Review: A silly anime to get lost in~ Although watching this ended up more as a reminder that Pingu's antics are something I have to "look forward" to in the very near future. The fun thing about watching an anime without actual dialogue is that you can make things up, which makes it even more enjoyable!
Shonan Junai Gumi! 6/10
　Mini Review: Didn't even know GTO had a prequel (maybe next year I'll watch it). The perverse jokes were surprisingly palatable and weren't out of place nor forced. Eikichi and Ryuji were amusing and well-written- it was quite enjoyable seeing them try so hard to change their ways and fail every time. For something that came out in the mid-90's, this more or less stood the test of time.
Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san 6/10
　Mini Review: This ended up being disappointing- primarily in how Shikimori handles her relationship with Izumi. I'm not sure if the author actually thinks behavior like that is "cute" but its incredibly toxic behavior to not allow anyone INCLUDING THEIR PARTNER'S BEST FRIEND to be close to them! Her character was ruined by this behavior and very quickly, I found myself rooting for anyone to take Izumi away from her.

Uzumaki [Previously Started: 1/4] 6/10
　Mini Review: Uzumaki had a different animation style than I'm used to but it worked amazingly well for the storytelling. The simple story had me hooked from the first episode (alas ADHD is the true enemy to binging anime) and this worked best as a 4 episode series, giving viewers a nice pause to make sense of the avant garde. While I wish Kirie and Shuuichi had a "happier" ending, the last episode still provided a nice solid ending for them and the rest of the townspeople of Kurouzu-cho.
Tasogare Out Focus [Previously Started: 02/12] 7/10
　Mini Review: This had so many cliches, especially with who would end up with who! I had kind of expected the anime to focus mainly on Mao and Hisashi but I did enjoy the addition of Giichi and Jin falling in love. Having said that, I felt like cramming in the relationship between Shion and Rei could have been saved for a new season or even just a couple of OVAs so had to dock some points.
Sousou no Frieren: ●● no Mahou 8/10
　Mini Review: Such an adorable spin-off of Frieren!! I enjoyed how they switched back and forth between the Hero's Party and Frieren's new party every few episodes. Seeing the silly content featuring the more mundane spells Frieren collects, from making Stark smell like meat to removing the alcohol from Heiter's booze, feels very on-point for the series.

　Mini Review: This having an overall rating of 7 blows my mind. This would have been much better as a series (or even a full-length movie) but within the 18 minutes of animation: it was a mess. The animation was hit-or-miss for me; some places it was intriguing while others fell horribly short. I hope the 2025 alternative version elaborates more on the storyline because the synopsis alone is what interested me.
BT21 Universe Animation 7/10
　Mini Review: I did not realize more BT21 had been made~ This was a nice palette-cleanser from the stress of life, favorite had to be RJ's section: he's such a cutie!! Much like BT21 Original Story, the music and vibes of BT21 Universe Animation had a chokehold on me throughout the entire thing! Hope more people watch this, it deserves way more than its current member count!!

　Mini Review: My first thought was "why does a cute little hamster anime have the ecchi tag?" but that was answered REALLY quickly!! The anime was amusing until Maa-kun was introduced and then every scene he was in just made me uncomfortable. Aside from that weirdo, the humor almost always brought a chuckle or two out of me and was an easy binge.
Tensei Kizoku no Isekai Boukenroku: Jichou wo Shiranai Kamigami no Shito [Previously Started: 02/12] 8/10
　Mini Review: "Serving Gods Who Go Too Far" is absolutely on-point!! I'm glad it turned out to be a bit more than just an "OP MC" isekai anime although I wish they would have shown more of Aaron, the God of Entertainment. I didn't really care too much for the fiancés, they all felt like last minute additions compared to everything else and I think without them, this could have been a pretty solid isekai even with its cliches.
Ai City 2/10
　Mini Review: Did I just watch a low-budget Akira? Maybe this will infect lo-score so more can suffer through this~ I liked the overall premise of the movie however (perhaps its simply the age) I feel like it was executed poorly. Perhaps instead of being a hour and a half movie: this might have been better as a 12/13 episode series to fully elaborate the experiments and concept of human greed.

Saijaku Tamer wa Gomi Hiroi no Tabi wo Hajimemashita. 8/10
　Mini Review: Was not expecting to enjoy this anime as much as I did! Weakest Tamer was a beautiful heart-wretching mix of wholesomeness and angst. I loved seeing each town's guards essentially adopt Ivy, showing her that the world is brighter than the little village she grew up and was later shunned from. I hope there will be a second season!!

Mirai Nikki (TV): Ura Mirai Nikki
　Mini Review: [2/10] This addition to the series feels unnecessary and lacks substance. While I am unsure about what the studio was trying to do, the execution is weak. The story feels more like filler content that detracts from the tension and "depth" of the main series. Good thing it was short because it was a waste of time.
Ranma ½: Tendou-ke no Oyobidenai Yatsura!
　Mini Review: [5/10] Ranma ½ series holds a special place in my heart since it is the first manga I’ve ever read. For that reason, I would say it was a decent watch, though it doesn’t offer much in terms of new content or excitement. The humor and character interactions are consistent with the series' tone. But to be honest, I forgot about that special as soon as I watched it since nothing stood out. A "okay" special that doesn’t stand out but isn’t a complete disappointment.
Ajin Part 3: Shougeki
　Mini Review: [6/10] An interesting continuation of the Ajin series, with action and suspense. The plot was predictable at times but still managed to surprise me (for example, when the MC ditched his best friend to ensure his sister's safety). It’s enjoyable but lacks the impact needed to elevate it beyond "okay." It doesn’t have the punch of the main series, and the storyline becomes less engaging as it progresses. That said, I have to admit I really like Satou's voice (by Ootsuka Houchuu).
Ame wo Tsugeru Hyouryuu Danchi
　Mini Review: [5/10] The visuals are beautiful, and the world-building is imaginative, but the story just wasn’t for me. The concept of being on a drifting building is interesting, but I didn’t connect with the characters. I could be completely off, but it felt like they tried to create a G-rated version of Life of Pi and failed. While it’s a decent watch, it doesn't leave a lasting impression. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Kanon Kazahana
　Mini Review: [3/10] I started watching it reluctantly because I didn’t enjoy the main series (Kanon). While it attempts to provide a reflective follow-up to Kanon, it feels like an unnecessary addition. The pacing is slow, and I couldn’t bring myself to care about the characters (not that I cared much during the main series, to be honest). And let’s not even get started on the awful character design and animation—well below the quality you’d expect from 2003. It was a painful watch, and I kept waiting for it to end. A disappointing epilogue that fails to add anything meaningful. I wanted to say I’m just glad to be done with this series, but I just noticed they added a spin-off in 2021… sigh.
Noein: Mou Hitori no Kimi e
　Mini Review: [5/10] The series has an intriguing premise. The visuals are unique, but not in a positive way—the lack of uniformity was quite bothersome. The plot is overly complex at times, making it hard to stay invested. It’s an imaginative series, but it doesn’t fully deliver on its potential. The final plot twist somewhat makes up for it and might make it worth watching, but honestly, there are far better shows out there that are more deserving of our time. I think Noein hasn’t aged particularly well and I don't recommend it.
Space Cobra Pilot
　Mini Review: [3/10] Oh, how high my expectations were for that special! Any anime fan has at least heard of the Space Cobra series. I personally don’t know much about the show (except for one movie I watched... I think), so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Unfortunately, this pilot special, which serves as the first episode of the main series, was not interesting at all. I firmly believe that the first episode of a series is the most important—it sets the tone, gives you the vibe, and sparks the desire to continue the story. The Space Cobra pilot fails to capture any of the adventurous charm the main series might have. While the animation is decent, the story feels uninspired and lacks the energy needed to make Cobra a standout character. The only thing the main character does is wonder why people are calling him Cobra, only to realize at the end that he is Cobra. It was not interesting at all. A weak introduction overall.
Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou: Cruncha Cruncha Cruncha
　Mini Review: [2/10] Well... I disliked the main series (I rated it a 2), and the special wasn’t any better. This addition is completely forgettable. I wasn’t engaged in the story at all—though, to be fair, I wasn’t engaged in the main series either, so I didn’t remember much about the characters or the plot. The animation was mediocre, the characters were annoying, and the fan service felt out of place. I wouldn’t recommend this special unless you enjoyed the main series.

Armed Blue Gunvolt
　Mini Review: [3/10] I have never played the Gunvolt games or even heard of them. I think an OVA based on a game typically has one of two purposes: to please fans of the game or to attract new players. I hope the purpose of this OVA was the former because it certainly didn’t attract me. I couldn’t connect with the characters, so I didn’t care about the story. While the action sequences are vibrant and I enjoyed the art style, the story lacks depth and originality. It was messy and hard to follow. A disappointing adaptation. I hope the game is better.
Long Zu Episode 0
　Mini Review: [4/10] I’m not a fan of Donghua (I think that’s the correct term?), so for a chinese series to capture my interest, the story really needs to draw me in. Long Zu has an interesting premise, and the visuals are impressive, but it ultimately failed to deliver. As an introductory episode, it feels incomplete. The characters were so plain that I wondered more than once if they were just side characters in the main series. While it hints at a larger, more intriguing story, there’s not enough here to hook viewers.... or at least to hook me.
Yeon-ae Halujeon 2
　Mini Review: [7/10] I’m not a fan of Aeni either (I think that’s what we call Korean animation?), but I’ve had more pleasant surprises with it than with Donghua (see my comment above). This series is actually a sequel to one of those surprises. Yeon-ae Halujeon 2 is a charming and relatable romantic drama with interesting character development. The interactions feel genuine, and the story flows naturally. It’s well-executed, making it a delightful watch. I particularly enjoyed the art—the pastel tones felt soothing to the soul. I admit there isn’t a big plot, and the episodes are short, which makes it harder to develop a strong storyline, but the result is still beautiful. I recommend it.
Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen
　Mini Review: [7/10] I was skeptical about this arc being set in a school, but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up enjoying the setting more than I expected. The new environment adds a refreshing twist to the series. That said, I hope the next season moves away from the school setting, as it lacked the gothic vibe I love about this series. Some parts of the show felt out of place—like the bishounen crying for help under the effects of a laxative, with the guys around him being turned on by his expressions. Moments like that disrupted the Victorian charm and mystery of Kuroshitsuji. Still, it managed to be memorable. To be honest, the season started strong and kept me captivated, but it fell flat toward the end. I think it lacked those standout Sebastian moments where he performs his impressive, over-the-top butler activities.

Shinryaku!? Ika Musume
　Mini Review: [3/10] I didn’t like the prequel, which I found boring and unfunny, so I didn’t have high hopes for this series. Unfortunately, it was worse than I anticipated. The jokes felt the same as in the prequel, with no improvement whatsoever. The repetitive gags made it feel worse. The storytelling didn’t bring anything new or exciting. While there were a few new side characters, they were mostly just annoying. Moe loli girls are not something I enjoy. Overall, it was a painful watch. I did enjoy a bit the ending when MC left and everyone thought it was a joke and she'd come back.
Shinryaku!! Ika Musume
　Mini Review: [3/10] Another installment that feels like more of the same, with little effort to innovate. The humor isn't my style and is predictable, and the character development is nonexistent. The art is average. A disappointing OVA. Painful to watch, not that I didn't know what I was getting into since I disliked the main series.
Deatte 5-byou de Battle
　Mini Review: [6/10] Oh! This was my biggest disappointment in December. I’m a sucker for storylines involving survival and battle arena themes, so I had high expectations for this one. It started off great, with a smart, extremely strategic MC who was dying of boredom. Then everything fell apart, and the story turned into a generic blue team vs. red team scenario in another world, reminding me of the Maze Runner franchise—but without any of the good parts. That said, the unique battle mechanics and fast-paced plot do make it somewhat enjoyable. While the story could use more depth, the strong beginning kept me engaged. This is a series I wouldn’t recommend to everyone—only to those desperately looking for their next survival-themed fix.
Burn the Witch
　Mini Review: [4/10] Studio Colorido hasn’t produced many masterpieces. Most of their movies have flown under the radar, often receiving below-average ratings on MAL. I do remember watching Shashinkan from them, though—a 16-minute short film that connected me so deeply to the story and characters that I cried like a baby and felt emotional for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, the ONA Burn the Witch didn’t deliver that same impact at all. The story feels rushed and underdeveloped. The characters have potential, but they never get a chance to shine. I had hoped for something better. Since it’s related to Bleach in some way, shouldn’t it have had a decent budget? Well... while it was visually appealing, the series as a whole was an underwhelming experience.

　Mini Review: I'm sorry but that scene with Tiki and Mac was too funny, why would they do this in these circumstances? I don't know if it's a me problem but this anime left me a little confused as to who, what, why. Also not to sound mean but I didn't exactly care about the characters and whatever happened to them. This anime is kinda stupid but overall it wasn't exactly a bad experience, I've seen much worse.
What's Michael?
　Mini Review: Honestly I was a bit iffy on some of the stories, I'd say especially the one with Popo-chan, what were the owners thinking? That being said, overall it was an enjoyable watch, was fun seeing cats being cats, made me think of my own little princess. The kitties were real cuties, we need more anime with cats. I will also check out the second Michael ova and the tv series sometime, hoping for some enjoyable watches.

　Mini Review: Oh man, I'm not a romance fan but I had higher expectations for this anime. In the first place I barely felt any romance, which supposedly should be good for me, yet somehow it still remained disappointing. It felt like they were trying too hard with all these tropes and "comedy". Every character and skit got so boring so fast, I couldn't wait to finish this sooner. Sister was the only likeable character for me.

　Mini Review: Ah yes, once again falling in love with Dazai. He was so funny and lovable, no wonder so many characters liked him. I think the anime overall did a great job as a parody, I loved when there where so many isekai tropes waiting to happen and Sensei was just like "no thanks". It really was an enjoyable watch and now I am tempted to also read the manga because I really want to know what's gonna happen next to my beloved Sensei.

Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara
　Mini Review:
A very gorgeous movie, really expressive, I thought its going to be rather light story but I found it very heavy and depressing at times. Some people would say that second half has pacing issues or is "dumb" for introducing supernatural elements, but I was genuinely impressed by how real it feels. I can definitely feel it working as some sort of coping mechanism after the tragedy, and when I was thinking about scenarios as such, I had always envisioned the posibility of reacting such way as a way to defend yourself before loss of a close person. If there's anything I'd improve to also improve the entire message, it would be to give a bit more time for the first half of the movie and romance parts, so it would feel more genuine - it was certainly wholesome and romantic, but it lacked the proper buildup until that point. Nonetheless, the movie was still very impactful and made me think about character feelings a lot, trying to immerse myself into them... which, in turn, made me very sad...

Meng Qi Shi Shen: Huanxi Zhui Hun

An amazing final season for one of the best Chinese shows I have watched. As with the previous seasons, it focuses partially on food/gourmet part and romance parts, and as much as gourmet part is mostly decent (the main focus is on how the food looks like rather than how its prepared, but thats fine for me), the romance... had some drawbacks, but also many amazing parts. Some small drama or misunderstandings were over-exaggerated, creating some sort of temporary artificial crisis between main characters, but it worked out at the end with amazing closure for their relationship. I'm also truly happy they introduced new girl to gave Xiao Jing something that he truly lacked after the previous season, it felt like a very nice complement of his personal development. Wish there was more time to showcase interactions between various characters, this is where it was a bit lacking, but otherwise a solid season. Such a pity that with its final season I can't count for more adventures of those characters...

Warau Hyouteki
　Mini Review:
An interesting attempt of Rumiko making horror story, as opposed from her usual light works. I feel the main issue with it is the lack of detailed exposition and main character being not decisive enough for most of the story, I tend to better understand and relate with more expressive characters, especially with feeling such as anger. Satomi was a very likeable girl, which makes me even more angry looking at Yuzuru not reacting enough for her "misfortunes". The ending was decent but lacked proper build-up, should be more impactful than that.

Kaze no Tairiku
　Mini Review:
Pretty much another 90s story that got packed into OVA (well, short movie in this case). Because of that we only got a very vague introduction of the world which feels like it should be way more detailed, as I definitely see potential for it, kinda reminding me Golden Sun game. I generally feel this would work very well as a game, but hard to tell without knowing the entire story and what we got here is only a very tiny peek on it. All 3 characters were quite likeable for the small time that they got to introduce themselves and their personalities. I really liked the OST here that worked for an adventure story through forgotten city.

Durarara!!x2 Ten
　Mini Review:
Similarly to previous seasons, its really difficult to follow DRRR events, the story construction in general reminds me of Baccano - very big cast, character-driven story and a lot of intertwined events shown from various character perspectives. I'd say this one had a bit too fast pacing, jumping from one event to another quickly and often. It was also difficult remembering each character and their name, but I guess I can blame my 1 year long break between this and previous season, this certainly didn't help remembering all previous arcs and characters associated with them. I found some character behaviours being way too much irrational at times, even if that was the part of the story, too much of it can be annoying. Another thing - not enough of Anri and her relations with other characters, after first two seasons I had a feeling she's main heroine along with Celty, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The stalker arc was probably my fav from this season, as it had the easiest to follow story without being overly complicated. Comparing it to previous season, I'd call it very close to Shou, although a tiny bit worse.

Ryuu no Haisha

Thats an amazing world building just for ~1.5h of total duration. Personally I think the story worked in favour for such length and honestly wouldn't see it as normal TV show, but I'd love to see one more episode to make the pacing a bit slower and include some additional scenes (bonding between two main characters during their work instead of fast-forward scenes played during insert song, additional backstory of Shibana, more detailed explanation of dragon powers & how it works and other stuff that I feel wasn't showcased with enough details to make it more believable). I can't say the ending was bad, it was very emotional and impactful, but I wish they would go for different one... love the audio aspect of it, both OST and theme song are enhancing the experience. Was a rather unique movie-like experience, definitely worth watching in one go and sitting through it, Nonoko is such a cute girl too!

Definitely not something I'd normally watch. Gonna say, the idea would work way better if they were to make it a bit less lewd and more comedy/parody-like, but most importantly, it was way too... oversized, yep. I assume that could be a part of "parody", but I'm definitely not a fan of such monster-like things and gotta say, it was rather off-putting. I also wish they would make characters a bit more interesting, especially Akane that seemed like she could make some interesting addition to the cast, but was quickly changed to brainless toy...

One of the rare occurence where all-male cast was mostly full of interesting and likeable characters (with small exception of Haruka that I found way too emotionless and artificial). Well, no wonder since its KyoAni, and this show is essentially CGDCT except we can swap G (Girls) for B (Boys), and they rarely fail at providing enjoyable experience for such subgenre. The addition of Gou to club cast, although a bit forgotten at times, served for good balance in all-male team, providing a bit of different energy into conversations (I found it extremely funny how much she adores muscles tho). Pleasant surprise, as I expected it to be rather dull and leaning toward the male idols vibes, luckily it managed to stay on sports track without going into too much fanservice - well, it was obviously present during many scenes, as its a show about swimming, but wasn't really forceful. I really liked Rei character, he had definitely the biggest influence in resolving the drama for first season, although I wish they would reward his efforts way more. I'll definitely continue with next seasons.

Certainly one of the best Ghibli movie, I truly feel that Ghibli is doing way better job with making such SoL with normal, slow stories (or with minimal amount of supernatural elements) rather than pure fantasy/adventure shows. Reminds me a bit of Umi ga Kikoeru, Shizuku's character was very interesting to develop and Honna's voice fitted her perfectly for such role. The general theme of coming of age and trying to understand what you want to achieve and decide on your future was executed properly and with just right pacing, what bothers me a little is that the romance subplot was rushed, but thats an often case with movies on that matter. As usual, the style and animation is a very strong point of most of their movies, luckily this time the story/character elements managed to outperform it, which allows me to give it a higher score (as I'm not a fan of Ghibli's approach of "form over substance" in many movies).

I might be wrong, since I have watched first season years ago, but I feel that the pacing was way more steady and easier to follow in s1, at least here I felt confused about what they want to achieve with some events and intrigues. I also think the events from s1 were more reasonable and justified in general, making it more interesting to watch and it helped with character development as well. I didn't feel much tension here and I felt like it kinda lost track at some point. Another thing I'm really disappointed about, although its a bt personal, is a lack of Su Mucheng, I remember her appearing way more often and being more prominent character in s1, while here she was reduced to basically no one. I'm not sure if my taste changed over years, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected and as much as I remember enjoying s1.

Way better compared to s2 which I have finished day before this, since its a movie they made sure the pacing is not too rushed and easier to comprehend. Its a very interesting background story for Ye Xiu and Su Mucheng, something that was mentioned briefly during main show, but wasn't really explored further which makes it a perfect movie material. I like Su Mucheng even more now! A decent action and animation too, although nothing astonishing, just a pleasant bonus movie to watch to add another context to main events.

Hellsing Ultimate (Previously started: 1/10)
　Mini Review:
First of all, let me just say that - I have watched TV adaptation back in 2014, finished it and then started Ultimate, but since first episode was basically the same start as original adaptation, and episodes of Ultimate are quite long (45-50 mins on average), I got rather bored and disappointed. It was sitting on my on-hold until now, and I'm a bit sad to realize that first episode was the main downside of it, or more like, my impression of it because of TV adaptation. Naturally, the show turned out to be very interesting and exciting to watch, a bit too edgy at times, and some characters felt way too shallow or straightforward with their slaughter, but overall it was still an unique piece of work. I really loved Seras and Bernadotte, both as their own characters and the dynamics between them, their episode was generally the best out of all. I feel like the entire conflict could be described in more in-depth fashion, since ultimately the main antagonist goals were... reasonable, but also somewhat disappointing. I didn't expect any deep plot out there, but more like something a more detailed process of thought regarding his existence and his loved "war". Integra was another character that I felt that she could be showcased in a better way, but ultimately, the show was mostly about the adrenaline and that was managed well enough.

Its structure and episodic nature of following the girl + plushie combo reminds me of Precure, except quite downgraded compared to that - one reason is that episodic events are not that much interesting for me and they can feel a bit repetitive, but I think that the other, more important issue is... it doesn't have any main plotline, making it feel a bit lacking in terms of its goal and what it is trying to achieve. It wouldn't be a problem for a comedy show centered on gags, but it wasn't the case here - we can obviously count it as a comedy, but not that heavy in gags, skits and jokes. Atleat its quite viable, since its short.

So first of all, its a pity how they showcased female lead as a rather strong judoka just to revert her back to typical shoujo character whenever she male characters cling to her. There's barely any development at all and most scenes seem to be based on misunderstandings. Going to the other "half" of the cast - main male characters, Hajime is a total trash and honestly calling his behaviour "pushy" is not enough to describe how awful he is. That itself wouldn't be bad, if other characters were behaving accordingly to that, but female lead just said she's quite attracted to him, making his action additionally approved by her. Well, other characters weren't that good too, so I guess the source either got butchered or it was right it in manga too... The OVAs feel rushed, jumping right to the finale parts without any proper in-between development, its basically an introduction to the plot and then finale. So basically, there's nothing to appreciate it, maybe except decent voice acting and shoujo style with fine animation, feels like a waste of time for a show that is neither a manga advertisement or a proper adaptation, not sure what it wanted to be like but achieved none of it.

Now I'm surprised, since honestly, I heard a lot of good stuff about it even before, it also won some awards, but... it wasn't anything special, really. First of all, I'm not fond of such surreal, raw animation and style (similar to Ping Pong style). I know some people may think its artsy and expressive, but I don't really feel it most of the time, it just feels overly simplified and ugly. That ugliness alone might work for this show tho, as it fits this theme. But then, I didn't really like the show's direction too - the plot itself is very loose and is not introduced properly until like half the show, feels like its they have prolonged introduction part way too long, trying to establish the city setting but it wasn't interesting enough for me to spend over around 30 mins on that alone. I also feel it tried to be deep enough, but without properly showcasing characters mindsets, I couldn't really feel what really is going on with them most of the time, as in the entire main cast was insane for barely any reason except vague feeling of it. Overall, I need to say I'm extremely disappointed.

Basically a very short "roommate" story without any real development, overly physical and sexual. The show skipped the entire introduction section, starting right from the "I love you / We're roommates" part, making me feel like I have started watching a show from the middle, which was very weird. Feels like a pure fanservice show for female audience, focused mostly on two characters talking about random stuff and touching each other out of sudden. Honestly, its one of the worst BL stories I have seen, since you can barely call that a "story", feels more like random mini-stories connected by two characters but without any plot device that would push their relationship properly. And as usual with BLs, the love is purely physical and not emotional, which makes the entire relationship between characters very shallow and artificial.

　Mini Review: Maybe leans a little too hard into the jokes on stock supernatural tropes, but it's cute and doesn't overstay its welcome. The saccharine note it ends on does feel premature though. It's the usual ending for these kinds of things, but it's been two regular length compilation episodes. We barely know these characters!

　Mini Review: It's so striking how much Neil being flustered around Lily sounds like Daiki Yamashita doing his Deku voice, and now it's impossible for me to unhear it from the role. Anyway, I wasn't really expecting this series to get big on plot stuff or tragic backstories, but the execution is fine if a little generic (I have the sneaking suspicion I've seen the exact same setup in Ranking of Kings, and hell, this show pulls it off better). Neil's brother is a fun addition to the cast, and I loved the episode with him and Lynn stalking their respective siblings on a date together.

　Mini Review: Wasn't expecting this season to be for the gays, but I'm all for it. Great continuation of the relationships established in the last season! I really enjoy the extra focus on the dynamic between Lynn and Nick and their married couple-esque bickering, and the friendship between Neil and the demon king is super cute and sweet.

　Mini Review: It kind of felt like the writers wanted to back out of any big plot they had originally committed to by resolving the threads as quickly as possible in season 2, and from then on it's basically been strictly episodic. So there are no big stakes or drama this season either, but I think the lower stakes plays more to the series' strengths with the character bits. I quite enjoyed the multiple episode mini-arcs and hope to see more of them in future seasons.

　Mini Review: Really gorgeous watercolor backgrounds and fun, imaginative animation. I like the attention to the small details too, like the slowly moving clouds in the background sky. Pretty bog standard plot and characters though. Maybe I'd believe in the boy's crush having any legs if the kids weren't 10 years old and never seeing each other again.
Runway de Waratte
　Mini Review: It's the typical shounen underdog story, but the earnestness and especially the emphasis on the disadvantages faced by our protagonists help sell the execution. The antagonism from others in the industry feels like they're trying to aim for a frank depiction of how business is, but it comes across as rather lopsided when the very same people are nice, normal, and extremely fair in their judgment just a few scenes later. It certainly would help keep the gratuitous melodramatic framing in the direction from feeling silly if the characters had to suffer a little longer each time a crisis emerged. I do like the dynamic between our dual protagonists though. Chiyuki gets surprisingly little screen time, but it's nice to see her both working with and against Ikuto and flesh out their relationship as friends and rivals while providing some stakes to the competition without giving away the victor prematurely.

　Mini Review: Really quite impressed with the world-building in this and how well it's woven into the narrative. I respect how the show lets its characters look more callous than they actually are for several episodes as they brush off people dying gruesomely in front of them before definitely showing death is very much reversible. The story is pretty reminiscent of a classic-style dungeon crawler, but the twists and turns are fun to follow and the setting feels well realized and thought out. The episodic meals early on does make the pacing feel a little dragged out, but it thematically ties in perfectly for the solution they hit upon for the season finale, so I can't fault it too much.

　Mini Review: Now this is some good soapy melodrama. The atmospheric and somber visuals and music are well paired for the narrative, even if some of the jokes feel rather tone clashing. I did think the first episode ends a little too happily, so I'm glad we get a right and proper tragedy for the final act. Really didn't care for the shota-coded relationship in the second episode though, and the additional context from later on just makes it more weird.
Wu Liuqi: Zui Qiang Fa Xing Shi
　Mini Review: Basically more of what made the first season good: decent jokes, touching heartfelt moments, and compelling intrigue. The episodic structure does feel a bit forced though. The whole premise of assassins being sent out to the island to take out key residents comes off as an afterthought, especially when half the gang are enticed only by their personal grudges with little mention of the advertised bounties. The episodes are pretty much just bonus content for the first season's cast, which adds some surprising character dimensionality (hell, I'm surprised they even come back), but the whole adventure does end up rather fillery.
Wu Liuqi: Xuanwu Guo Pian
　Mini Review: Feels like they stepped up the production values this season. With the earlier seasons, I thought that the action scenes would sometimes get overly indulgent and run a bit too long, but here the dynamic camera angles and soaring music really help to sell the grandiosity. The adventure story making up the bulk of the season is a fun time even if it is essentially just setup for a lot of moving parts, though I think it was a tad excessive to give one of our season one side characters multiple episodes of focus, haha.
Wu Liuqi: Anying Suming
　Mini Review: Kinda feeling like I got tricked into watching a straight cultivation setting show lol. The action scenes are well done, and the terror conveyed in some scenes is very effective even when the stakes are relatively small scale, like a guy prowling around with a gun while trying to rob a convenience store. I find the tone departure from the first season a bit unfortunate though. My favorite part of the series are the jokes, so it's disappointing there's a lot fewer of them in this season, and I'm not sure that's going to change in future seasons.

　Mini Review: Fun little OVA that asks the question "what if the wonderland from Alice in wonderland was entirely populated by lesbians?" I especially enjoyed the domme Queen of Hearts. Not much substance and art is kinda ehh so 6/10
Makasete Iruka!
　Mini Review: Wow, I loved this! Great art, a fun little story, and great deaf representation as well! Mad respect to these girls' hustle. I wish this was a full series, I'd happily watch 20 episodes of this. 9/10
Panzer Dragoon
　Mini Review: I mean, it's not part of the scum of the scum challenge for no reason. That being said, the ridiculous dub work gave me a good laugh, so I didn't feel like my 25 minutes were a total waste. Story incomprehensible, art mediocre at best. 5/10
Tokumu Sentai Shinesman
　Mini Review: This was pretty enjoyable. I like the concept of sentai heroes that are adults and still have to have jobs. Also the fact that two of the heroes chose the colors grey and sepia is pretty funny. If this had a full series I would watch more of it. 7/10

　Mini Review: Good episode of Golden Kamuy. It's been awhile since I watched season one, so I'm not really sure how this fits into the greater narrative but I don't think it really matters. As always, good action and intrigue. I also liked the fun scene at the end where the giant bird grabbed Asirpa. 7/10

　Mini Review: Wow, I absolutely hated this. Found the show to be utterly predictable, and takes itself way too seriously without a narrative of enough quality to justify this. Even accepting that the government is super racist and believes that all war will magically end in two years, their actions are utterly incomprehensible to me. I see you gave it an 8 though so I guess I'm glad someone liked it because a lot of work clearly went into making this. 3/10
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Specials
　Mini Review: Very enjoyable! Expands on the original stories canon in a meaningful way, while not leaving the original series bereft of anything. I think the first one, the blind alchemist, was my favorite, followed by Izumi on the mountain. Most accurate score on MAL as the overall score is exactly what I'm giving it. 8/10
Pokemon Legends Arceus: Yuki Hodo Kishi Futaai
　Mini Review: This was really fabulous! Simple, yet moving story and really great visuals. Hisuian Zorua is also very cute, it makes me want to go back and actually finish Legends Arceus. It gave me everything I wanted and more from a ~30 minute Pokemon short, so 10/10

　Mini Review: Had been putting off watching Mashle until recently because I'm a snob but this show has the juice! It's really great to see an anime take such a strong stance against eugenics. Love all the fun characters and the wrestling moves that Mash uses. Looking up recipes for choux cream now haha. 9/10

　Mini Review: This screams 'tech demo' to me. Made during that era where cgi was first trying to find its place and a bunch of weird stuff got made. I didn't mind it, but definitely not for everyone. 6/10
Amagi Brilliant Park: Nonbirishiteiru Hima ga Nai!
　Mini Review: Glad for the chance to revisit the world of Amagi, and see all the characters again. Especially enjoyed the preschool Hell in a Cell match. Wasn't as emotionally affecting as the main series but still a very good time overall. 9/10
One Punch Man: Road to Hero
　Mini Review: This was pretty enjoyable, and I'm glad that the fact that I haven't seen OPM in close to ten years didn't end up mattering. I like that it gives an actual reason for him living in a weird abandoned city and seeing Saitama with hair. That being said, while being totally competent it was still somewhat unremarkable. 7/10

　Mini Review: This was pretty garbage, but you watched it for Lo-Score so you know that lol. Plot was boring, rushed, and confusing which makes sense because it's an adaptation of a probably much longer visual novel. I liked the robot though, maybe the TV series version is alright. 3/10
Pants no Ana: Mambo de Ganbo!
　Mini Review: Whoo this was a lot. I liked the 80s feel and some of the sketches were quite enjoyable, like the one where the dude overhears a girl taking a sloppy dump and the one at the end with kokkuri-san. However, the other ones were really bad like the one about the guy exposing himself to kids in a park. Even typing that is very yikes. 4/10
Prism Magical: Prism Generations!
　Mini Review: I've specifically been watching a lot of OVAs because I'm also working on OVA/day and I guess I'm speedrunning everything you watched for Loscore, because whew this was bad. I'm not necessarily opposed to a magical girl show with sexual content but the juvenile nature of all of this is just exhausting. Also doesn't help that I'm gay so the breasts have no effect on me. Is this show for anyone? I can't imagine anyone enjoying it but there are lower rated things on MAL so I guess some people at least gave it a higher score as a joke? I save 1s for things that personally enrage me and this doesn't quite do that (it's close though) so 2/10

　Mini Review: This was quite enjoyable! I enjoyed the originality and creativity with the creature designs/powers. Animation was fluid and action-packed. I will definitely be watching the sequel eventually! 8/10

　Mini Review: After this episode I expected a fight with goblins, and I got something else. Eris's little adventure was animated quite nicely and it was cool to watch. Only Cliff's character irritated me a lot in this special.

　Mini Review: I have to admit that the animation of this series really captivated me. The plot also really drew me in, but I have to admit that sometimes Rudy's thinking was mega irritating. 　Mini Review: When I started watching it I was a bit confused because a lot had changed since the first season. There were a lot of new characters and almost no characters I knew. Luckily the further I watched the more it explained itself, but that doesn't change the fact that this season was more boring to me than the first.
Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi
　Mini Review: It was a really enjoyable series, seriously, I didn't think I'd like it this much. It may not have had a complicated plot, but it was fun to watch. Of course, it was good to have something to eat while watching, because watching the protagonist's culinary exploits and the contentment of his familiars made you hungry. And Sui is mega cute.

Kamichu!
　Mini Review: Not what I was expecting at all. An incredibly unique plot and setting, watching a shy, introverted middle school girl (who pretty much acts like an elementary girl) suddenly become a God and be thrown into a position of power and praise, makes for absurdly fun viewing, comedic juxtaposition is always a treat. The MC begrudgingly carrying out her duties is hilarious. Beautifully animated, very detailed work down by Brain's Base. It's also been a long time since I've seen such adorable blush on cheeks and red face when embarrassed, quite an older style of execution, fitting for it's time. The natural appearance and acceptance (to the viewer at least) of youkai in a small town is lovely, something I can probably count on one hand as to how often I've seen such a setting. I would like to have seen a bit more development on certain aspects of the show, namely some relationships, though mostly nitpicks. 8/10.
Kamichu! Specials
　Mini Review: Furthers the plot along nicely, and develops a few loose ends nicely that were left fairly alone in the original show. Mako Sakurai's brilliant VA work continues to be a strong point, she really nailed that "cutesy, aloof and a little lazy" type of voice. A bit more emotional impact involved in these four episodes. 8/10.
Sheep in the Island
　Mini Review: It reminded me of some of those childhood cartoons with a bit of morbid undertone to them, even the character design was horrifying lol, reminiscent of Johnson and Friends. Pretty nice soundtrack, with an amusing harmonica piece, that opening scene with the ships colliding and sinking, followed by the sheep trying to get out of it's crate, it could have almost passed for an opening cutscene of an old PC/PS2 game. The characters speaking in "onomatopoeia" was a nice touch. 6/10
The Humanoid: Ai no Wakusei Lezeria
　Mini Review: Probably the earliest anime I've watched that deals with the theme of machines having souls/learning human emotion, and for a mid 80's OVA, it's not too bad. Often with these 80s OVAs, you get horrible pacing, barely any set up and a convoluted story out of it, but this one was rather clear throughout. The man and machine relationship and bonds was a bit forced and they tried to squeeze it out of you at the end in dramatic fashion and the plot itself was simple and nothing too exciting, but otherwise a decent watch. Has a pretty fun soundtrack, some decent 80s Jap soft rock. 5/10.

Chiisana Eiyuu: Kani to Tamago to Toumei Ningen
　Mini Review: Three short mini films showcasing incredible production values and animation flair, simple and sweet. An obvious case of style over substance, yet it works pretty well here, IMO this was more of a showcasing of excellent talent in the anime industry, rather than creating a great story. The English title kind of gives it away as to what one could expect after watching the first film, and the rest follow suit. A heartwarming watch, and I think a lot of the reviews and posts turn a blind eye to it and focus a lot more on the critical aspects of it. I understand that POV, but don't abide by it for this one. 7/10.
Tansu Warashi.
　Mini Review: Short and sweet. I've seen a few of the Animator Training Project shorts by now, and I've enjoyed the vast majority of them. There's generally a lack of time to develop the setting, it's characters, etc, which is the common drawback for them, but no real problems this time around. As far as "aimless person gets on the right track after a chance encounter" (tbh, I wouldn't even call her a typical character example), it's not the most serious nor the deepest example ever, but it's wholesome nevertheless. Background artwork was probably the closest thing I've come across which resembles a child's crayon scrapbook, a pretty unique look. A relaxing watch, geez, I wouldn't mind my own set of labor intensive child youkai every now and then lol. 7/10.
Colorful Ninja Iromaki
　Mini Review: Like a lot of it's contemporaries in the young animator training project, it boasts a unique art style of sorts, but this time struggles to make an impact elsewhere in it's short run time. The VA work for the little girl was terrible, it just sounded like a 25 year old women trying her utmost hardest to pull off a kid voice lol. The helpful ninja plot was uninteresting, save for the mixing color theme it had going on. 5/10.
Mitsuami no Kamisama
　Mini Review: First of all, incredibly gorgeous art. I don't know if they employed film grain to it, like the series "Mushoku Tensei", but it's very similar in it's background texture. The sound direction was top notch as well, simple things like opening a new plastic packet of pegs or grass blowing in the wind, sounded incredible in this short film. As far as the content goes, a lot to take in. Whilst watching and after finishing. I appreciate the various ways of allegorical usage, even if I felt the morality and choices were sometimes not that ambivalent or needed questioning. Not a huge fan of the ending, but a pretty good watch. 7/10.

Natsume Yuujinchou Roku
　Mini Review: If there's one anime that spans multiple seasons and years that stays consistent with it's content and quality, it's Natsume Yuujinchou. This 6th season is no different in that regard. It had been a while since I watched the previous season, so it reaffirmed my love for it's themes of friendship and familial bonds and its heartwarming to see how much Natsume has grown as a character. This show strips away what makes humans such complicated beings and just focuses on the more simple things one needs in life, and it's refreshing to see something so obvious being executed like it is in this show. A bit more overarching plot in this season which was fun as well. 9/10.
Natsume Yuujinchou Roku Specials
　Mini Review: Not much to say here, this is how you do special episodes. Sorry to say, no beach or onsen episode in this show lol. These two episodes just felt like an extension of the season, and so were an obvious great watch. They felt a lot more wistful than usual, which is something that you see every now and then with Natsume Yuujinchou episodes, bittersweet moments. 8/10.
Natsume Yuujinchou Movie: Utsusemi ni Musubu
　Mini Review: This movie plays out like an extended Natsume Yuujinchou episode, nothing too noteworthy or extraordinary about it, yet it still matches the usual quality that this series is (IMO) known for. A fairly intricately woven plot this time around, a lot of connecting pieces, a story that would be most appreciated with your undivided attention. A lot of fan favorite characters make appearances, good fun. It edges you with more Reiko backstory, really hope we get to see some answers to her past soon. I have a wish to see Natsume go back in time (not out of place in such an anime) and meet with Reiko, one can hope. 8/10.
AIKa
　Mini Review: Ten seconds in and you already know what kind of show it's gonna be, panty shots and panty shots and panty shots and panty shots and nipples and panty shots and panty shots and ass and panty shots and panty shots and panty shots and BDSM and there's even some panty shots. It's a fun no holds barred type of show, hot women with guns and grenade launchers and tanks and villains that want to wipe out the human race and make their own harem type of show. It's very one dimensional and adding certain flavors to it would probably increase it's overall quality, but it does the trick anyway. It does lose steam in the second arc and introduces a crappy comedic relief character that's kind of around? What also makes it quite good is that it's pretty serious toned throughout it's entirety, which makes the content all the more funnier. Though I suppose it's to be expected, as the studio behind Aika made a lot of hentai over the years. 7/10.

Jingai-san no Yome
　Mini Review: There's a moment in the "A Sister's All You Need" LN series where the MC, a "little sister themed" obsessed light novel author, creates a draft work where the main heroine is a "little sister" in the form of a massive, pus filled, acid dripping slime monster that's unable to communicate and tries to kill the novels protagonist on multiple occasions, all because the author wanted to see how far he could push his "little sister" obsession without being turned off by the idea of "little sisters". This show is pretty much that comedy gag (though obviously toned down), and I am not a fan lol, nor am I it's intended audience. The ikemen/femboys as wives to these monsters/aliens is neither funny, nor charming, and I'm thankful that it's only 2-3 minutes an episode. It's a lazily developed fetish show, albeit, not meant to be taken seriously, so I suppose one could have some fun with this one. 2/10.
Kankin Kuiki Level X
　Mini Review: The premise itself is fine and it sucks you in after a mild start to the series with a lot of intriguing development, but the dialogue is hit or miss, contrived conversations mixed with some good intense emotional back and forth as the stakes become higher. The art is great, incredible monster design work, so it's a shame that we also get Yami Shibai levels of animation (ok, not that bad, but close) to go with it. The OP is a banger, but doesn't fit with this type of story. There's no tension watching it, just a bit of fascination, which is something I'm too familiar with regarding horror anime. Fascination and astonishment, which can still make for a good watch when dealing with horror anime. 6/10.
Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!
　Mini Review: It's been a loooooong time since I was a Highschool student, but I don't remember seeing most of my fellow schoolmates dealing with unrequited love/breakups with such classiness and introspection as what these characters showcase throughout the twelve episodes XD Makeoine relies heavily on classic anime tropes, this romcom is far more "com" than "rom", and was a lot more sillier/comedic in nature than what I was anticipating. It still has well presented, heartfelt moments of vulnerability and sadness which are well integrated into the story. Some may not like the tonal whiplash (I personally love this sort of thing), but it's not as aggressive as a lot of other shows. The characters were all excellent and fun to watch, while the Male MC is more like a sponge, as he absorbs and deals with the losing heroine's thoughts and feelings, while also making connections which each of the girls. He's OK as far as template Male MCs are concerned, but it's all about the heroines in this show. Interested to see where the author goes from here, developing Nukumizu's relationships further. It's a slow burn sort of anime, and true to real life, feelings don't just change and disappear that easily. 9/10.
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
　Mini Review: It's one of those uncomfortably good shows (Scums Wish for example), a dramatic love polygon that showcases a ton of wide ranging thoughts and feelings, all too familiar, yet enhanced greatly due to a tragedy that turned lives upside down. A frustrating affair with a ton of wishy-washy traits in a select few characters going through a difficult time. A good case of show, don't tell through it's visuals and fairly dramatic soundtrack (which can be a little overbearing at times). I enjoy the parallel sense of stopped time and developed relationship as these characters go through their day to day life after the crash. Really well done and it manages to stay pretty grounded, not straying into ridiculously melodramatic territory (considering the plot mind you), though it does have it's moments where it blurs the line. I found the comedic relief characters a bit odd and out of place, but welcoming nevertheless. One must have a breather every now and then, when consuming such misery XD. 9/10.

Spy x Family Movie: Code: White
　Mini Review: The movie wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the series itself. Seeing the Forgers together is always a delight, but the plot felt kind of weak for some reason. It's funny to look at it after watching the series because you can really tell it was visually designed for a theatrical release with the dynamic fight scenes and some of the other parts. All-in-all, it was a fun movie to watch.
Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni
　Mini Review: I have such mixed emotions about this anime. There are parts that were so charming and I loved and parts that annoyed me so deeply. I enjoyed the dynamic and relationship between the two MCs, but also the convoluted misunderstanding of a non-existent marriage annoyed me. Understandable, given the circumstances, but still irksome. Not only that, thinking about how short of a time they knew one another and things being that intense is kind of ... weird. But I really loved the style of this movie so much. So, this one is very hard for me to rate.

　Mini Review: A cute enough little anime to pass some time. There's nothing too incredibly special about these shorts to stick out, but it's nothing bad, either. It is a little funny to see cats as donuts, if a little weird of a concept.
Tabi Machi Late Show
　Mini Review: The art design is very simplistic, but it does suit the feeling of the show pretty well. There isn't a strong need for clean animation itself, but the animation can be a bit choppy from the minimalistic style. The stories are bittersweet feeling, but nothing that's too emotional with the bite sized episodes.
Shirobako
　Mini Review: I kept putting off watching this series for so long and I'm glad I finally committed to watching it since I enjoyed it quite a bit. It took until the second episode to really hook me in, but it's been really easy to binge episodes of the series. It's been interesting watching a story about anime production in an anime form. The characters have been really fun to get to know along the way, too. I enjoyed seeing their growth in their personalities and in their field. Really interesting perspective of the animation field with some of the elements.
Shirobako Specials
　Mini Review: Having the first episode of both the anime being produced in the main show as the specials is a really neat idea. It's really fun to think of it as what those characters created with their efforts and any hiccups that came along the way. As anime themselves, they're just a fun little ride to go along with. It'd be kind of interesting to actually see them played out, but in a way, it's more fun just having them standing alone like this. I'm really glad I watched this fresh off the series, so that I could see all the different elements that they'd been working on behind the scenes.

　Mini Review: Another one of those anime that is a short product of its time with the late 80's. The story is pretty straightforward and predictable with the outcome, but not horrible, either. The animation is decent enough for the timeframe, too. Not a bad watch, but nothing that I'll be thinking about in the future, either.
Uzumaki [1/4]
　Mini Review: This series is so unfortunate. The first episode is so incredibly unnerving and well done that the vast decline in the animation really sticks out like a sore thumb. There are scenes that are still extremely unsettling and creepy, but they fall a bit short when the animation looks off or poorly done. I really wish this series had kept up in quality because this is such a unsettling manga.

　Mini Review: Having already been halfway through the season, I knew I'd love it anyway. The whole family dynamic makes me smile and the things Anya gets up to is always hilarious to see. As always, the animation is on point and the opening is a real banger. Looking forward to watching the movie after this!
Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto [2/12]
　Mini Review:I love the color design on this series. I'd watched the first two episodes before this event, but this was a good excuse to get back to the series since I had enjoyed what I'd seen, especially that first episode. I do feel like the anime fell off a little as it went on, since that first episode was such a strong point for me. The animation remains top notch throughout the series, which really helps carry the series with dynamic action scenes. I'm glad I finally got around to finishing the series, since it was an enjoyable watch.
High Card Season 2
　Mini Review: I was so hype to see this as an option, since I really loved season one and hadn't gotten to this season yet. I really loved the characters in the first season, so seeing them back in action was great. The quality of the show really holds up for me and I wasn't disappointed in this sequel. The plot is a little convoluted for parts of it, but generally a fun ride. The design of all of the characters and sets are still really great, too. I enjoyed the motivations behind the characters' actions. I don't want to go too deep into comments because of some massive spoilers toward the end, but I will say that I'm glad I didn't watch this weekly or I would have been vibrating out of my skin waiting for the resolution. My one big complaint is that I would love to have more of Vijay. I felt like he didn't get enough time in this season and last. (Wendy and Leo didn't get enough last season, but this season made up for that.)
High Card: The Flowers Bloom
　Mini Review: With the title of the OVA being what it was, I'd hoped it had more focus with Vijay and I was right. While it was balanced with the rest of the cast, it did give him some time to have a bit more of his background with Leo exposed. That said, it's not quite what I hoped out of an episode for him, as the whole premise was a bit awkward. Even so, I just let it ride the way it did and enjoyed it for what it was. Given it was only one episode to tie it up, things were a little rushed, but it's was fine enough. It does leave me wanting more hijinks with this cast, but I'm not sure there will be more in the future.

Overlord II
　Mini Review: It is an interesting sidestep for world building from the main cast. Not sure if I enjoy it as much as the first season, but I really love the floor guardians, so having them in it less does take a bit away for me. Not that they're nonexistent, but they carry a lot for me. It did feel like a bit of a drag for me at parts, but generally the idea of expanding the world out further is a good thing for the series as it gives it more space to expand. Should be interesting to see where things go in the third season and beyond.
Overlord III
　Mini Review: This season sure went some places with certain things! It continued with the world building and bridging out further with that, which was interesting to see. I'm glad I watched this season and the last close to one another so it was fresh. I feel like it really highlighted how ruthless the demon side could be with things. Understandably or not. Generally, I think I feel about the same as I did with the last season. It was good, but I still enjoyed the first season the most.
"Eiji"
　Mini Review: The film is Average/Fine enough. It certainly is a product of its time with the animation/style/quality and the jokes itself. There's nothing really remarkable or noteworthy about the series and it just kind of is there. It really isn't that surprising with a one off OVA from this time period.
Elsword: El-ui Yeoin
　Mini Review: Having never played the game, it was kind of weird being thrown into the story-in-progress. The style and personalities of most of the characters feel very generic and pretty forgettable, so it doesn't really give me any interest in the game. It wasn't a terrible watch, but certainly not something I'd normally go out of my way to see.

　Mini Review: I'm not really an AoT fan, I just like the animation and that's it (the rest of it I dislike for personal reasons). That being said, I haven't watched anything AoT related in maybe 7-8 years, this one was alright though. I had to check the wiki for character backgrounds since I forgot a lot of it, and I felt a weird sense of nostalgia re-reading Levi's wiki page and seeing him on screen again. Isabel seemed very sweet, it really sucked what happened to her.

　Mini Review: I really like the art style of this one, especially with how they do the hair and eyes. I'm interested in the lore (like the types of MechaUde and their uses), I'm sure I'll get more answers when I watch the series! I wonder why Jun wants the Trigger Arm if it looks like he already has a MechaUde already? I'll get around to watching the series at some point. It reminds me of Soul Eater with weapons and people working together closely.

　Mini Review: I watched the first and second season with my parents (since they used to be in a similar situation to season 1!Retsuko) and it feels weird to not watch more of it with them this time. But poor Retsuko! I didn't like that she was forced to be an idol, it just didn't work out in the end. I admire idols in general, but the stuff they put up with (especially with that stalker) is insane. I'm kinda glad she and Haida are dating now, they seem like a cute couple (I feel bad for Inuo though).

　Mini Review: Like. After episode 12, I can't think of words. That was insane, no way the voice actors were just standing there while all That was happening. Anyways, Mignon is himbo of the year and it's very cool of him to have a vampire doctor boyfriend.

　Mini Review: I couldn't stop thinking about Wallace and Gromit during this, the art style felt very familiar to that. I like the attention to detail with the types of material made for different pokemon, like furry-like pokemon looking like they're made of wool! I'd love to work at the Pokemon Resort, it seems like a really chill place to work (though I'd like to know how much they're paying...). Haru reminds me of every job I've been in; incredibly nervous but anxious to do well. Also one word: FURRET.

　Mini Review: I saw a review about the manga and knew it was gonna be good when I saw that it'd get an anime adaptation. I loved basically everything about this, I loved the art and subtle foley going on. My only complaint is the music was pretty loud, and then when there was dialogue again it was pretty quiet. But yeah, I didn't expect the 'what-if' scenario going on, that was a pretty cool concept. I loved that Fujino was basically creating a Chainsaw Man parody, makes sense since this and Chainsaw Man share the same mangaka! I loved Fujino's drive to create from 4th grade to adulthood, I just wish she paced herself so she wouldn't burn out so easily.

　Mini Review: kinda reminds me of given. If they used watercolor it was nice to look at, but that’s all I feel about this. I like how the leads are chill about their (almost) relationship, compared to a lot of BL/GL out there that’s like “but wer’re boys boys/girls!”. Was refreshing to see this not do that. I had to skip over some scenes, I was flying when watching this and I think there were kids behind me (came back to it later though).

This is exactly my kind of thing and it was actually better than I was expecting. I've been wanting to watch this little OVA for awhile and I am eternally grateful for such a lovely chance to finally see it. Just... the very, very cutest thing. I was audibly squealing for most of the runtime. My favorite kind of cute little getting together story that's nice and short and to the point <3 It doesn't exactly hit the right spot to get a 10 from me (though anyone looking at my list can tell that's not too difficult to hit) it does get a 9.
Angel's Feather

Yeesh, we can definitely see here what not to do when adapting a visual novel. Honestly the worse thing about it is that even though some characters have wild hair color, I can barely tell the characters apart! Feels very underwhelming and like it's supposed to be just the introduction to a much, much bigger story... so y'know, usual visual novel adaptation fare. I did have the slightest bit of fun watching this because everything was just a little too ridiculous? Like in a funny way though. It was dumb, so gets a low score, but still a little amusing, so not the lowest of scores.
Megane na Kanojo

This is my favorite part of challenges like this because I know I probably wouldn't have found this cute short little gem without it. It's not perfect, I mean the second guy doesn't even ever find out who he really asked out, but still. The character designs are simple and cute, the stories are just short little couple moments, and I had a fun time watching it. I'm not gonna say that as long as it's cute I'm gonna love it and give it perfect scores, but it will get an 8 at least on cuteness alone. I'm very easy to please.
Henkei Sakuhin Dai 1-ban

I always attempt to give Dementia or Avant Garde anime the benefit of the doubt and a fair shot. I even gave Umi no Uta a 4 because it wasn't all garbage! This however... it hurt my eyes and my ears. Why was this even made? How many drugs do you have to be on to find this enjoyable? It's basically all just weird changing spinning circles and droning noise! Ouch and ew and get away from me with this crap.

I could've given this a 6... if it wasn't for the boobs. Especially with the fact that the characters are still middle schoolers. Technically, the age of high school freshman in my country, but that doesn't help at all. Considering the size of every single other school character in the show, there is no reason to animate the main character like this. Her height? Fine, but omg those jiggle physics are driving me crazy. Otherwise, fairly cute. Other than the obvious, the character designs are really cute in a simple way. Honestly though, worried about the main character's future. Like, yeah, it is good to be helpful, just please don't be a doormat. And you just know that with her body, the older she gets, the more perverts she's going to attract. But the show doesn't go into that, so a blessing, but again... did not need to have that. Ugh.
Monster Extra: Hottan

Watching this after I have already completed the entire show was a little weird, but it was definitely a good look back on the earlier bits of the show. Like Tenma not yet looking homeless all the time. For sure a nice little surmising bit explaining the broader plot without going into all the nittty gritty bits that the series liked to linger on. As a recap, it's not bad, but the ending just made me remember that weird part of the plot that seemed to kinda of disappear and be disregarded later in the story. But... Monster is fantastic~
Pokemon: Pikachu no Fuyuyasumi

This little OVA really makes you see that the pokemon are just little babies that like to play and run around. Absolutely adorable and made me think of Charlie Brown with the way that the human characters are there, but you never see their faces. For some reason in the second episode, I find it absolutely hilarious that Onix, being the enormous rock monster that it is, was just also there playing in the snow with all the little guys. Kangaskhan mama was just absolutely wonderful~
Koneko no Studio

I watched this little movie's prequel right before this. Both of them feel fairly the same other than the first one being black and white and this one having color, as well as there being a little bit of dialogue in this one where there wasn't any at all in the first. That being said, you would think I would like this one more than the first because of these aspects, but Koneko no Rakugaki somehow feels a lot more genuine than Studio. Both of them give the feel of any other old timey cartoon that you've ever seen, so it's nice to discover that that trend is a worldwide thing, but I didn't have as much fun in Studio. It's a bit longer, and it has much more silly fantastical aspects than the previous. Like how the kitten was able to make a super high tech film studio and robot maker. I liked it better when the fantastical aspect kind looked like normal kid fantasies where they're able to physically interact with Kitten's drawings in the first one. Still extremely cute though!

Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai shiteita.

Watching this made me discover that the original manga author, the same one who wrote Inu X Boku SS, Cocoa Fujiwara, passed away back in 2015. So, that's an added bit of sadness, especially since her art is so cute and her characters endearingly silly. That is exactly what this anime is though, extremely cute and endearingly silly. I can ride this cute train into oblivion, but it just makes it better that it seems like the main couple appear to be mutually in love with each other despite their circumstances. Very Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato de feeling story. Sad to know we'll never get a real ending to it, but I'm quite happy with the little bit of story that I was able to experience. As much as I'm more into male characters, Byakuya is just too cute, let me protect her.

I am very much not into Parody or Gag Humor shows, but this show mixing those elements with Shounen battle elements? Pretty darn good. Was legitimately funny how the show seems to be parodying Harry Potter the most, and since I grew up watching that movie series, I appreciated it a lot. I almost thought I would get annoyed by Mash himself, but nah, that simple little guy is very loveable. I'm excited to start on the second season, cause that ending was really something of a cliffhanger. Not the greatest, but still quite the fun watch.
Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen

I adore this new Villainess trend in anime getting adapted recently, they hit exactly the right spot for me, so it was exciting to see a few of the options in the Villainess tag I hadn't seen before as available options for this challenge. I definitely think the aspect of being reincarnated as specifically the villainess of a story brings a breath of fresh air into the Isekai genre/setting/whatever. I adore Yumiella and Patrick is an amazing love interest. I can especially appreciate that she doesn't end up with one of the conquerable characters, but instead an equally likable side character. Plus, Patrick's love for her feels so genuine and I always gotta appreciate a romantic partner that supports but still sometimes calls out their partner's faults. Yumiella is hilarious in her obliviousness and genuine lack of emotional expression. I don't think any villainess show will ever top the OG big one (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) but I'd love to see more and more just like these two~

The anime truly feels like it was made just for me. Not only is another one of my new favorite Villainess shows, but there actually is a legit, and very fun to watch, romance developing between the two main characters. I just recently enjoyed the aspect of a main character having previous lives where she did all kinds of different things throughout those lives in another bit of media that I consumed, so it was really nice to see it incorporated here so well. I don't know yet if this show tops the OG in my mind yet, but I can say that I'm looking forward to further seasons from this one the most. The only thing I could actually ask for more is the return of Prince Dietrich just so I can hear Okamoto Nobuhiko whining some more~

A very Ghibli type feeling vibe about this one, which makes sense, but I think it tried to handle a bit too much. The animation was fairly good, but it really was just like watching the last 20 min of a movie without the rest of the context. It's really short, so not much to say other than it being very, very generic. Still gave it a 6 though, because even though it's small, it still looks pretty good.
Boku no Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle

What a silly little extra thing to stick in between two very serious seasons of My Hero. I never get tired of hearing Okamoto Nobuhiko scream, so I was definitely enjoying that. Just wondering if this was made to launch something? Like the card game? Otherwise, there's no real reason to have this be made other than to give the animators something to do in between seasons. Just a bit weird and kinda like it didn't need to be made, so not as highly rated as I would usually give something My Hero related. But, it's still My Hero ^^
Cencoroll Connect

I would've rather someone had explained to me that the first 26 minutes of this was just the first movie again, but with just slightly higher quality, because then I wouldn't have rewatched the first one before starting this! Other than that, I still adore this world. It's kind of my favorite thing the way none of the characters actually seem that interested in anything that's happening around them. Everyone is just so nonchalant as wild things are happening around them and it's so fun to watch. I want a Cenco of my own, and specifically Cenco, cause transforming is cool. I'm mostly just sad or unhappy about this cause it's so short and I want more.

I was extremely surprised by this one. Short light anime with only 6 episodes that are 13 minutes each? Yeah, very low expectations, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I knew from the first episode with all the texting that somehow didn't feel too cheap that I wasn't going to judge the rest of the show on its cheapness. I don't like the way the Mom talks, but thankfully after the first episode she's not really a big point in the anime. The characters look pretty good, the monsters look good, the animation might be on the low side, but that doesn't take away from the overall feel. I am quite excited to see the second season of this!

Baccano!
　Mini Review: I don't have a tendency to want to finish an anime too fast usually, but with Baccano!, i just feel that if I have to drag it on much longer, I might end up breaking a lot of things. The voice acting for Miria was not bad, but the voice for the character itself drove me insane. The constant jumping to and fro between time lines in a show did not sit well with me either. Only the soundtrack appealed to me.
Evangelion Movie 3: Q
　Mini Review: The action in this show was intense, though for the first thirty minutes or so, I have no idea what all the technical sounding commands that were being thrown around left and right was all about. Communication flow about what went down during the fourteen years between Shinji and the rest of the characters seemed to be nonexistent. It would have prevented a lot of unnecessary confusion for Shinji if someone had actually told him some facts instead of vague "don't touch this" or "don't do that" kind of phrases. At some point during the show, I also started to wonder how such a whiny and wimpy character like Shinji got to have the kind of responsibilities he seemed to have had before. Overall the show was just ok, with an amazing soundtrack that probably saved the day.

Blue Period
　Mini Review: This is a wonderful show about Yaguchi, a high school student, and the path he took after he discovered that he could convey his feelings and words on a canvas. It was a joy to watch the different emotions he had to go through towards the growth and improvement in the process of creating his art. The portrayal of all his struggles and joy throughout the show, the relationships between the MC and the rest of the cast, kept me entertained without a dull moment. I appreciate that the events in this show happened in a very realistic manner, thus making it easier for viewers to relate to. The art style was also very pleasing to the eyes. It has been an exhilarating experience watching this show.
Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru
　Mini Review: An explosion of colors met my eyes. The art for this show was so vibrantly detailed that I couldn't help but get immersed in the feeling of watching an amazing fireworks show. The simple but pleasant storyline and likeable characters gave me a warm feeling while watching. The soundtrack was also very fitting with the theme of the story. Without spoiling too much, I must say I like how Cherry confessed his feelings for Smile. Overall, I enjoyed the show very much. If you like heartwarming SoL and light romance stories, I would say give this show a try. Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru was a wonderful show to end the day with.

Ore dake Level Up na Ken
　Mini Review: This show featured nicely thought out dungeons with excellent fighting choreography. The gore was also present, but without the turning people off feeling, which was great. I also liked how the voice of the MC changed while he progressed from a weak character to a stronger character. The animation was smooth and solid and the soundtrack was also very fitting with the theme of the story. It was a nice surprise to find out that this is not the typical overpowered MC grinding dungeon after dungeon type of show. I started this without much expectations and I was left flabbergasted at how much I actually enjoyed the show by the end of it and wanting more. I cannot wait to get started on the sequel for this amazing show.
Visual Prison
　Mini Review: This is an anime about music and vampire idols. That means there are many nicely drawn eye candy-type characters, which is quite pleasant. The art is quite beautifully done, and it gives a nice visual overall. The story was not over the top and very believable for a supernatural-themed anime. It was like watching a long visual kei concert while bingeing through this anime. The music did not disappoint either; most of the songs were excellent. I think the music is the best feature in this series. I find myself always looking forward to the next musical segment, wanting more. Stage costumes really bring out the theme. If you are a fan of the visual kei genre, you would probably enjoy this show.

Mind Game
　Mini Review: Mind Game is the most entertaining psychological-themed anime I have watched so far. It has vibrant visuals, often animated with different styles to portray excellent facial expressions and actions to suit the storytelling. I also appreciated that the makers put in the effort to include a lot of details in the background scenes, making it a pleasure to watch. The show was very fast-paced, giving one a very exciting feeling, and I personally think it was a very fun animation to watch. I find that the story is easy to understand for this genre, as long as the viewer actually pays attention to the show and its details. Overall, I enjoyed the show very much.
[Oshi no Ko] 2nd Season
　Mini Review: This season seemed to feature more about the inner workings of a stage production than anything else. It showed viewers all the hard work that went into producing a successful play, so much so that I thought it almost resembled a documentary. Even with the visually vibrant artwork and excellent storytelling, I was glad for that segment to be over at last when the play was finally put on stage. Things only started getting more exciting during the last four episodes, where we get to see more interesting parts of the story being unveiled. Loved the soundtrack; it fit with the theme of this show perfectly. It was a fantastic series nonetheless, and I cannot wait for the third season to find out more.

Wu Shan Wu Xing: Xichuan Huan Zi Lin
　Mini Review: This Donghua is very vibrant and visually appealing. Each scene has wonderful background artistic beauty. The action scenes are also well done and impactful. I enjoyed the mix between martial arts and elemental abilities, and how they meshed nicely together. I had some problems watching this anime as well. There was the inconsistant dialogue that may or maynot have been subbed correctly, that lead to some of the context going right over my head. Also, becuase it was only a few episodes I am sure it was a bit rushed. Not bad, but not a great one either.
Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou
　Mini Review: For a childrens story it was all right. The art for the characters fit the story as well as the historical time it was set in. I found the imaginative part of this movie to be quite well done. The transition from one era to another was smooth and the scenes werent choppy at all. Now, the reason I rated it a 6 and not above, is because it was extremely slow paced, and a bit boring. But so are a lot of other childrens stories, so it is par for the course I suppose.
Kimitachi wa Dou Ikiru ka
　Mini Review:I always love watching new Ghibli movies, and this one is no different. Though it did have some sad moments, it was a good watch. My favorite characters were the Warawara, so cute! The story was alirght, but as will other war time movies not my favorite genre.
Trick or Alice
　Mini Review: What a suprise it was to finally find this anime on a hentai site. The character designs were good, but thats about where the enjoyment stopped. The premise seemed okay, but with how short it was the dialogue made no sense. Even if you had previously watched the original or any other rendition of it the flow of conversation didnt mesh at all. A reverse harem of this child story does make for a good start, but unfortunately it didnt go far.

Inu to Neko Docchi mo Katteru to Mainichi Tanoshii
　Mini Review: Great short anime to watch for a bunch of laughs. This one caught me by suprise with how true to life its antics of animals in the home environment was depicted. Each episode was just as entertaining as the next. Easily bingable and great for someone without too much time on their hands.
Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai! 3
　Mini Review: I found the third season to be the most funny of the three I have watched so far. I especially liked the toilet paper rattle for entertainment great. Short anime are hard to get the right amount of character development plus new senerio improvement. But, like I said, I believe the creators got it done with much improvement in the third season.

　Mini Review: I am not sure what I was expecting going into this anime, but it was a packed with hilarious suprises. The character designs were plain, except for the main character who was imagined as a cow humaniod. The anime had a wealth of information about food and agriculture. A good short to watch if you wanna laugh and learn at the same time.
Bartender: Kami no Glass
　Mini Review: It was quite similar to the previous version. The art style was similar but was refreshed to be a bit more modern. Still made me feel like I wanted to visit a bar of the same kind at least once in my life. Too bad I live in a small town where there probably aren't any bartenders of the same calliber, niether in drink making or bar keep banter. It was worth the watch, if for nothing else but to learn about different types of drinks.
Great Pretender: Razbliuto

Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san
　Mini Review: I have been looking for this anime since its release, and I am please to have finally found it on Crunchyroll! It isn't the most extravagant or mind blowing of stories, but I found it rather endearing. The concept was truely unique, and a bit of information on extict animals was fit in nicely. I quite enjoyed the heartwarming ending the best.

Kami no Tou
　Mini Review: I didn't know what to expect going into this anime. After seeing how "Rachel" is my name and one of the main characters as well, I was a little happy. But, I was so let down after watching :(. She's such a b*t*h. But, I got over that since the anime itself had me glued to the screen in a binge watch that I rather enjoyed. The characters are all unique and the lore is an original concept that kept me very entertained.
Kami no Tou: Ouji no Kikan
　Mini Review: I hate to be even more pissed at a character with my name, but boy does Rachel ever piss me off. Did the creator of this anime really need to make the villian character be so damn gringe phsychotic. But, I digress, the world building is still up to par, with the original. Though, the second season really adds a lot more side characters as well. Thank God the continuation is already ongoing, the end was one hell of a cliff hanger. I hate watching currently airing anime. I prefer to watch already finished ones.

　Mini Review: For a movie this anime was awefully short. I understand the omission of some relavent steps that would normally need to be taken in the real world to finish in the allotted time span. But, to me it seemed more of a let down because of that. It is really hard to write a review without going into spoilers, so thats all i can really say about what I found unpleasent about the movie. Other than that, the music, characters and pacing were all great. A solid watch.

I did let out a couple chuckles here and there, but overall I did not enjoy DKnN as much as I hoped I would.

Boku no Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle
　Mini Review: The first five minutes made me think it was an episode strictly made to promote a new card game of the show, and it still totally could be, but I don't care enough to find out. With that premise, I found it to be quite boring and uninspired, but I still enjoyed watching the shenanigans of Class 1-A at least a tad bit. I mostly liked the scene between All Might and the dog - that was pretty cute.
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
　Mini Review: This movie takes on the classic "actions have consequences" theme found in most time travel stories, but I've never felt it cut so deeply than when I watched Makoto experience it firsthand. I'll be honest, it doesn't take much to make me tear up, but this one was definitely justified. Sure, Makoto used this ability for pretty mediocre and selfish reasons, but they were all motivated by her desire to enjoy the time with her friends just a little bit longer before time carried on, which made the pure agony and fear over potentially losing them because of her actions that much more heartbreaking to witness. I really enjoyed watching this movie, and I will likely come back to it when I need that harsh reminder to cherish each and every day, regardless of how awful they seem in the moment, because there's no guarantee we will see the next one.
Noragami Aragoto
　Mini Review: I'm so glad I was able to come back to this series for the workshop. One of my main qualms with the first season was the lack of insight into Yato's past and his reasons for acting so selfish and mysterious all the time. I love that kind of character depth, but the fact that they didn't delve into it made me hopeful for the second season, and it did not disappoint. I can definitely relate to someone who hides their pain and self doubt behind a mask of humor and emotional distance, so it was very heartwarming to see Yato learn to trust that Yukine and Hiyori will be there for him despite his dark past. I nearly cried alongside him when Hiyori gave Yato the shrine she made for him. Seeing as this likely won't be getting another season to tie up the questions left at the end, I will be picking up the manga, though I had already planned to regardless.
Noragami Aragoto OVA
　Mini Review: Of course, we couldn't forget the obligatory onsen scene. At least we get to see more of the competitive rivalry between Yato and Bishamon that we got a glimpse of in the last OVA, but it feels a lot more satisfying now after their reconciliation in the second season. From the absurd murder plot of the first episode to the touching scene between Yato and Hiyori in the second, this OVA still manages to balance the story's silly and comedic elements with its emotionally vulnerable ones.

　Mini Review: At some point, I decided to embrace the blissful ignorance of the Forgers and their blatant double lives in order to enjoy their charmingly chaotic family dynamics, otherwise I would've been rolling my eyes every ten minutes. The animation was very smooth and dynamic, and I'll never get enough of Anya's confounded derp faces; those eyes can convey a hundred emotions through just one expression in an instant, and I am living for it. All in all, it was a pretty decent movie, but their cluelessness is starting to wear on me.
Blue Giant
　Mini Review: Yes, I cried again. The artistry alone merits a 10/10, but the real beauty lies in the music itself. This movie celebrates jazz as a living, breathing art form. It’s not just music; it’s a form of storytelling, a conduit for life’s joys and sorrows. The vivid colors and dynamic animation used in conjunction with the music just made every raw emotion hit that much harder. Now it's time for me to search for any potential local jazz performances in my devastatingly simple town.

Shangri-La Frontier: Kusoge Hunter, Kamige ni Idoman to su
　Mini Review: Goodness, was this one fun! The game mechanics and player personalities all felt quite realistic and, after living with a hardcore gamer for three years now, I can say the gamer lingo and thought processes are pretty spot-on. And the ridiculous bird mask expressions are done too perfectly. The occasional glimpse into the real world offered a nice break every now and then after experiencing the non-stop action and high-octane energy of the game world, though it deeply disturbs me how Hizutome can sleep without a blanket or sheet. I didn't love how the season finale had such a casual and abrupt ending right in the middle of a quest; it felt more like a mid-season episode than a set-up for another exciting story. Luckily, I am able to start the second season right after, so it wasn't as much of a letdown as it could have been if I had seen it when it first aired. Overall, it was a very entertaining and enjoyable watch.

　Mini Review: I think for maximum effect you need to see this alongside the main series. The bath scene was nice and all, but as one may expect it demands attachment from the main series. Not a bad special by any means, just missing that punch.
Akuyaku Reijou Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maou dewa Arimasen
　Mini Review: It feels as if Misfit got crossed into an otome game world. The first episode in particular just did not hit. She is strong enough in heart and body that the environment lacks a certain punch. Enemies didn't have the threat I would have wanted from them, they were mosquitoes to this bland story. Not a bad show, but there's better out there.
Koori Zokusei Danshi to Cool na Douryou Joshi
　Mini Review: It reminds me of when I watched Wotakoi. It's not a crazy show, outside of the ice gimmick. A nice little romance that coincidentally had a Christmas ep for me. I like the little interactions between them.
Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu 2nd Season
　Mini Review: This is an upgrade from the first season. Removing some of the cringe that came from early MC mentality, now we have actually nice character dynamics. A hint of spice for those that need it, but Yamada is plenty precious. Perhaps a bit overrated in the grand scheme, but it's easy to like them.

　Mini Review: The average for this show is a warning, it's actually bad. Perhaps as the narrator says there was some little spark in this short show, but it was terrible at expressing it. The cast irritates me to an extent, and the ending of this show is a genuine... why? Truly a C-Grade horror flic.
Mask Danshi wa Koishitakunai noni
　Mini Review: The quick dash to romance in an episode of anime. Similar to other entries from this partner, the boys love dynamic does nothing to me. Honestly, the more spice it has the less it works for me. Still though, I guess it tied itself up in the end. Don't even think the main guys were all that likable.
91 Days: Toki no Asase/Subete no Kinou/Ashita, Mata Ashita
　Mini Review: Essentially a special that doesn't feel significant to the previous story. Looks are pretty much the 91 standard. Lacking in some respects, but not a bad special.
Orenchi no Furo Jijou
　Mini Review: A distinct lack of girls, but I suppose going into a show like this it's expected. The moments shared between the human and non-humans are alright, but the "service" of the show does nothing for me. It's a fine way to pass the time, brain empty content.

　Mini Review: I feel that I've now atoned for my lack of seeing this before Deathinotion, it's a very interesting setting with some powers that can be broken. It isn't peak, and I think some abilities are weird to power scale. But still. Lil Lucky is a precious character.

　Mini Review: Weird to send a teenager out on life threatening missions. I know he hacked, but that doesn't make him a great field agent rip. Stopping the Nazis is something, but this 2 ep ova has some holes in the story.
Go! Go! Ackman
　Mini Review: I may have hated on this more had I seen anything from Dragon Ball, but because I haven't I see what they were putting down. I find myself very particular with this kind of gag show, but I don't think it was that bad for a 15 minute short. They did what they wanted and threw a d in the mix. Honestly, fair play.
Peach Girl
　Mini Review: I'll preface this by saying that it isn't the worst anime in the word (like some believe). It's just.. extremely irritating to deal with. Visually it's fine for its time (save for certain moments). But the characters drive me up a wall dealing with them. They act as if they lack awareness of their situations, and it makes it hard to even sympathize with them for the first 3/4 of the show.

　Mini Review: There was potential in the premise, reminds me a bit of Frame Arms Girl. The problem is that characters stretch some suspension of disbelief from how they act. Not to mention the insert plot character that needed to push it along.

　Mini Review: The first part was semi-interesting with its approach (even if the music itself was lackluster). The second part was painful to watch from how ugly it was (and worse music). The third part has a better story than previous parts (but the music still is meh). The last one is cursed looking.

　Mini Review: The biggest strength of this show is the tidbits of info shared about farming life. It's interesting to consider some things we don't do on a regular basis, yet they regularly engage in. Looks are kind of.. simple in comparison. It isn't a bad show, but it lacks in a good visual punch.
Makeruna!! Aku no Gundan!
　Mini Review: I knew I wouldn't get a lot when I stepped into this trip, but wow this was something. The goals of the main characters were as far reaching as a football field, but I guess there could be worse out there. One character in particular is a W, although they have very small episode time.

This isn't the type of movie that particularly sticks with me. The score I gave is based on the OST, animation, craftsmanship, and the plot in general. I found both the lead characters to be relatively flat without much to them besides their wishes. Which, Touno's was more... impactful? I don't want to take away from Hanashiro's wish, but her angry facade and "I don't have a family" personality wear on me. I get that the movie's point was to accept things that happen as they happen and, for Hanashiro, to believe in her own abilities, but I couldn't get into either of their personalities. The ending, too, seemed off to me. What did Touno learn by going into the tunnel that final time? Because, to be honest, I don't know. It seems like, without going into too many details, he only learned to let go of his wish after he had made a stance to go after it. Which isn't a great lesson to be teaching people, in my opinion. "Once you have turned your back on everything and everyone, and you are at the height of your choices, only then can you realize that what you really wanted was with you all along". He going by himself was selfish, especially given the fact that he backs out in the 11th hour. I would still possibly recommend this to others, but personally, some problems with the characters and ending.
Wind Breaker

I've noticed several others watch this anime for their workshops and have primarily seen negative to neutral reviews—lots of complaints about low character growth, bad pacing, etc. First, let me start by saying that Tokyo Revengers is an animanga that is near and dear to my heart. When I first saw Wind Breaker start airing, I went, "Oh, this is just a new wave of delinquents to replace Tokyo Revengers" and in a way, I stand by that. There are a lot of uniquely designed characters with seemingly complex backstories, but just like in TR, those backstories are wrapped up in a neat little bow once that character's arc has come to a close. One of the most obvious character complaints I had was that Tomiyama was a Mikey knock-off (both leaders, childish, short, blonde, scary black covering over the eyes when going berserk, etc.). However, what Wind Breaker does well, and even better than TR, are the fundamental lessons that are being taught. While I personally, in no world, think that a group of teen boys who go around fighting other teen boys is going to be led by a guy focused on friendship and fun, the lessons that protection is better than assault really needs to be presented to the individuals in said age groups. The fight-scene choreography was stellar and none of the characters ever did anything horribly grating on my nerves. I will say that Sakura isn't my favorite type of MC, but I can already see in the last few episodes that he is capable of growth. All-in-all, I quite enjoyed this delinquent anime.

I actually really enjoyed this anime. The premise is something that I would normally never go for (video game world, shallow character values, and superficial/annoying love for a tsundere) but I was surprised to find that most of my initial assumptions turned out wrong. The otome game setting really plays well with the audience being the only ones unaware of class or political systems. I also found myself extremely fond of Rae, her way of blending modern phrases/attitudes with that of a commoner in a royalty-ruled world had me often laughing unexpectedly. And while Claire is not the type of character I typically enjoy, she has many more layers to her than at a glance. I would say that Manaria is the only character that I could have lived without, but, her introduction and the questions she asks Rae are incredibly important to Rae's development. I will say, the art style is a bit flat and the fight scenes were pretty boring at times. I don't feel like either of those aspects took away from my overall enjoyment, however. The third episode has a great and respectful conversation regarding sexuality that I adored. There was a pretty big twist about halfway through the season that I did not see coming, so bonus points for that, too. I hope another season gets picked up because the whole experience was delightful.

Did Psycho-Pass really need a connecting movie between the Sinners of a System movies and Psycho-Pass 3/First Inspector? I don't think so. You know what I think happened? There hasn't been enough Kougami in the last few years of releases and the writers needed their golden goose back in the limelight. The first three minutes have Kougami jumping from planes, guys. It's almost as bad as the last movie where he was suddenly an army man. The first hour is legitimately just Akane and Kougami talking to everyone but each other non-stop about what's happening. The Sibyl System plot that made Psycho-Pass so good is all but gone in favor of "until justice is served there can be no justice for anyone" and it's honestly tiring. I'm tired of Akane's opinions on justice hardly changing since she was a rookie Enforcer. I'm tired of Kougami being the only person it feels like they let do anything important (regardless of where he is on the planet). And, I'm tired of characters with better backstories being all but tossed to the side once their backstory has been revealed. Ginoza is listed as a main character in this movie and does absolutely nothing to strengthen the story. He has a few fight scenes and beefs with Kougami, as is normal. Ironically, his pure lack of plot progression in this movie made me finally add him to my extended favorites list. If they're giving him a headliner for doing the bare minimum then so will I. He has been the only recurring character in this series that I am constantly excited to see and feel like whose story (while not plot-changingly important like, say, the Ignatov brothers) truly has gone to shape all of his actions throughout everything that happens. The last scene reminded me of why, at the end of the day, Akane has more depth than Kougami at the very least.

I really don't know what I just watched. I didn't have a lot of hope for a BL from 2006 with an average score less than six, but what even happened? The timeline is as follows: School → Confrontation → Boys with Angel Wings → Confrontation → Fighting → Space Ship → Prison → School. Like, what? I couldn't figure out if the short-haired twin had a thing for the long-haired twin and I couldn't figure out what any of the side characters except for the dorm leader were even there for. I'm honestly not even sure what to write because I legit cannot remember any lasting impressions other than "what is happening?" throughout both episodes.

I'm finding that, while I did truly enjoy the first season of Re:Zero and the characters, I don't care much about subsequent seasons. Break Time is no different, only with this second season primarily being focused on the secondary cast members I dislike or don't care about at all. The chibi style is cute and the three-minute episodes are a saving grace. Overall, I struggled to find interest in what was happening. Most of the episodes are just side characters talking to each other for the sake of talking to one another. A handful stuck out as meaningful more than others (Beatrice's episode toward the end was one), but I was mostly bored.

　Mini Review: This movie has a bit of a slow pace with music that will lull you to sleep. The content in the movie is not meant to be fast paced or actiony though so it's ok that it's slower. You get to see a budding friendship between two girls that love drawing. One of them is social and a part of society and the other one prefers to hide behind closed doors, but starts to open up. Ultimately, it comes to question whether she should have ever opened up to the world to begin with if you think Butterfly Effect. Although things may happen, you never know who is rooting for you and you should be open to things.
Sword Art Online: Progressive Movie - Hoshi Naki Yoru no Aria
　Mini Review: While I loved getting to see SAO from Asuna's perspective, I wasn't happy with the way she was portrayed. In the original SAO she is such a badass, but she's very... typical female in this movie. It's leading up to her maybe becoming stronger in the second movie so it might save it for me. I liked the new female best friend character that was introduced because she seems genuine, even with all the events that took place. Asuna and Kirito's meeting in this movie was different than the anime as well and just overall there was no way I was not going to sit there and compare the movie to the original every second and complain it is not as good as the original.

　Mini Review: I LOVE Tohru's father. He's nothing like I thought he would be personality wise. I also didn't realize her parents had such an age gap between them. I wish the whole movie would have been about her parents and not so much about her and Kyo. The Tohru and Kyo segment was mostly just reused scenes from the anime and I was wanting new content from the movie. That being said, the movie was really cute and I loved it if only for the parents segment which was both cute and sad, but so good!
Ore dake Level Up na Ken
　Mini Review: I NEED MORE! For real. It's hard to find an anime that my husband will actually like and enjoy with me, but this one he compared to his favorites and said it had rewatch potential which is BIG for him - which means its big for me. The way the character himself evolved as he got stronger both physically and mentally was great. It was similar to the MC in Parasyte's evolution, which I also enjoyed. MC's appearance change gets attention drawn to it with the nurses swooning over him when they didn't really fuss over him prior. It shows that there is a bias in society towards attractive people which is a nice social commentary.

Mashle: Shinkakusha Kouho Senbatsu Shiken-hen
　Mini Review: It has sort of a miniature tournament arc which I am always game for. It's not unique, but it is entertaining enough. Mash's deadpan lines and faces are still great, reminding me of Saitama from One Punch Man. They throw a twist at you, but it didn't really add much to the story and didn't really interest me. Mash is the only one I care about in the entire show because he is the only one able to make me giggle even a little... not to mention everyone else is almost useless.

　Mini Review: This is "we have death note at home" almost. One of the MC's Hal looks like a blonde Light and they are working on solving a crime together. It has BL vibes out the wazoo which of course was a plus for me. It was entertaining enough for an afternoon with it being only two episodes. It could have gone on for a full one cour probably, but not much past that. I believe it was made for female audience in mind for sure with the way that they made all the males attractive and blush all the time.

　Mini Review: As far as recap episodes go, it covered everything pretty thoroughly. I rated it a 7 which means I found it "good". They didn't dwell too long on any one part and they covered the first eight episodes well. I wish it had been a recap of the entire show instead of just the first eight episodes. It was a nice refresher since I watched the parent show a couple of months ago. The little girl Miri is so cute and her dads are both hotties so seeing them as a family unit again made my heart happy.

　Mini Review: Came into this with high expectations because of it being #1 and it actually didn't dissapoint. Still hate on how a lot of the story focuses around one 'Hero' however I could look past that as Frierens story is the true story. Boku to Roboko
　Mini Review: I hadn’t ever heard of this show, but boy, did it ever turn out to be my type of humor. A glance through my list will show that I tend to highly rate this kind of bite-sized, bizarre comedy. I realize this kind of show isn’t for everyone, but for me, this format, wherein a good gag or joke (or several) has to be squeezed into just two or three minutes and be effective enough to draw a laugh, is among my favorite. This is like a seriously messed up version of Chobits, and I’m totally here for it. I especially loved the whole turnaround on the concept of the class bullies (where they’re actually the most decent guys around).
Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi
　Mini Review: What an unexpected treat this was. I agree with other reviewers who’ve called it tonally uneven (and unfavorably compared it to, for example, Gintama, saying that it doesn’t quite as effectively transition from comedy to tragedy as Gintama does), and I also had to ding it at least one point for the shallow characterizations that didn’t allow me to ever really come to care for this particular cast of oddballs. If a show is an ensemble, as the opening and ending animation of this series so clearly imply it is, then some time should be spent developing the characters surrounding the MC instead of just him—and, it should be noted, a lot of that time was spent developing the villains, which is fine, but give me an opportunity to care about the protagonists too, hm? That said, this series is worth it for the art alone. The art direction of this series takes some real risks and the use of visual metaphor is fascinating to behold, even if some of those metaphors are utterly revolting (i.e., eyes and ears talking to each other independently, a villain whose heart is crawling with ants). A solid 8/10 for me.
Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi: Makuai (1333-nen - 1334-nen) "Rekishi"
　Mini Review: I don’t hate summary episodes as much as some, especially since they often help me organize my thoughts about the story so far, but I couldn’t rate this one very highly. Narration is often the key to the ‘organization’ aspect I just mentioned, but in this case we just got to listen to Yorishige being his silly self as rapid-fire scenes summarizing the first nine episodes flashed by. I found myself tuning out and taking some of the time to look up the real history behind the show instead. Speaking of which, I wonder if anyone else finds this an odd choice of story, since we’re following a ‘hero character’ that can only end up failing miserably (if the show follows history) while the evil villain must necessarily win…which seems an odd recipe for a shounen bildungsroman, but maybe that’s just me.
Petit Cool Doji Danshi no Hitokoma
　Mini Review: I absolutely loved the main show when I first watched it and was very happy to rewatch it before finally getting around to watching this chibi short. I always enjoy chibi comedy shorts, and this show, which already focused on short, comedic slice of life stories (and is, to be clear, pretty much the most genuinely soothing iyashikei I’ve ever seen) was well suited to the format, but I must say the art of these specials is relatively poor compared to a lot of other chibi shorts I’ve watched in the past, which is why I rated it a little lower than the main series. Nonetheless, it was a joy to revisit these characters and see some context for some of the little scenes that flashed by in the opening animation of the main series.

Goyang-i Ibsog-eulo Ttwieodeulda
　Mini Review: This was definitely one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen. I don’t always do well with avant garde material—it’s not that I want everything explained to me in detail, but if the visual metaphors are too abstract (and this short has no dialogue, so it’s all about the art) and leave me feeling more confusion than anything else, I’m unlikely to give a high rating. This was certainly visually interesting and left me feeling like I’d just seen someone’s nightmare brought to life through animation, so it’s not that I hated it, but…let’s just say I’m still not even sure if I watched something about two children (with the hearts of a cat and mouse) who’d been…sold into slavery??...or about a cat and mouse (with the hearts of human beings)…trying to escape a mad circus keeper who’s developed some way of creating two-headed demon cats?? I honestly couldn’t say.
Jinxing Ren Aiqing Gushi
　Mini Review: This one was difficult to rate, frankly, because the subs are borderline useless and I don’t understand a word of Chinese. Some (seemingly significant) parts of it were outright unsubtitled, such as the song lyrics (which seemed key to the emotional climax of the short) and the text on the comic-like instruction sheet that Hsiao-Hsia created for her client (which seemed kind of important to the plot, such as it was). I actually didn’t even fully understand from the subtitles that the characters’ status as “Venusians” was just a prank; now that I know that, the ‘plot’ makes even less sense to me. What kind of dumba…er, I mean, what kind of reasonable adults would be going to fifth grade children for help with their love lives to being with?? The only thing I can say for sure is that it’s deeply creepy that an adult woman (or teenager??) went to a small child for help with her love life and then (apparently?? I’m not sure??) fell in love with that child, culminating in a kiss.
Santa Company
　Mini Review: This was a cute little Christmas film despite the fact that it was really just an anime copy of Arthur Christmas, without anything new to add. I did have some trouble enjoying it, though, since the intolerable character of Mint irked me at every turn (and she turned out to be the main character of the next one…). Who knows, maybe the story is more enjoyable in the feature-length version, which I haven’t watched yet…or maybe it would’ve made more sense overall (or felt less like it was outright plagiarizing Aardman Animation) if I’d been able to read the novel that apparently tells the first half of the story.
Santa Company: Manatsu no Merry Christmas
　Mini Review: I have serious concerns about whoever thought it would be a good idea to mash up a Christmas story with a PSA about ocean pollution. In the end it doesn’t come across effectively as either, although it was surprisingly enjoyable nonetheless. The animation was interesting (and both this short and the other are very well animated considering they were entirely crowdfunded as far as I know), Mint showed some actual character growth, and on a more personal note…my god, when’s the last time I actually heard Furuya Tooru voice a character?? That was a fun surprise.

Hijikata Toshizou: Shiro no Kiseki
　Mini Review: I kind of had high hopes for this one given the positive reviews, but those might have come from people with a more comprehensive understanding of Shinsengumi history going in. As for myself, I have the usual amount of knowledge (i.e., whatever I’ve picked up from the multitudes of anime that feature the Shinsengumi as characters) and found myself pretty lost and at the same time thinking wow, this thing sure doesn’t paint the Shinsengumi in a very admirable light. Even though Hijikata seemed to be the protagonist, he and the entire organization came across as more of an official force of bullies than as the heroes I often see them portrayed as. Maybe if this had been twice as long and taken more time to explore the history I would have appreciated it more. As it was it skipped through too quickly to be either educational or enjoyable.
Hiyokoi
　Mini Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is a great example of how to make good use of a minimal amount of time to tell a coherent story and get the audience to actually feel some interest in the characters (enough that I think I’ll check out the manga). SuzuKen and TakeAya both did a great job imbuing both humor and heart into the main pair, and the art was cute and as good as you’d tend to expect from Production I.G.
Modern Love Tokyo: Kare ga Kanaderu Futari no Shirabe
　Mini Review: Unlike Hiyokoi, to me this was an example of an ineffective use of the allotted time. I can hardly even believe it was actually thirty minutes long, since I felt like it only skimmed the surface of the two characters (particularly Rin, who remained a total enigma, especially since we basically didn’t get to see the ‘years later’ version of him at all or see how his life turned out since Haru so callously and carelessly ruined what could have been a lifelong romance). I did enjoy the music and intend to check out Sheena and the Rokkets’ discography, and the animation was great.
Qing Chi Hong Xiaodou Ba! 2nd Season
　Mini Review: Somehow the humor of this season didn’t hit me in quite the same way as the first, which I rated a full 10. Nonetheless, it was tremendous fun revisiting these characters and their whacky adventures on the way to enlightenment (= getting eaten). As before, a lot of the humor for me was incredibly effective use of musical cues (mostly beloved classical pieces) and the odd voices of the characters (that moment when Little Bean said an abrupt “f***” was one of the highlights of hilarity for me). Big props to the people who subbed it so we could all enjoy it…I sincerely hope they do the rest of the seasons at some point.

Kimi dake ni Motetainda.
　Mini Review: Last year I watched the various HoneyWorks-inspired anime (Itsudatte Bokura no Koi wa 10cm Datta and its various related works) and this one feels so similar I thought it had to be part of the same phenomenon, but I guess it isn’t. It suffers from the same problems, though: characters with bizarre motivations and/or emotional reactions and nowhere near enough time spent developing those characters (this movie has six main characters; we get to know four of them superficially, and the other two might as well have been cardboard standees for all we got to know about them…what a waste of Matsuoka Yoshitsugu in particular). The art is good, very colorful and with some interesting (and distinctly odd) scenes at the beginning, but the plot is nonsensical and honestly creepy. Even though I get that in Japan this kind of idolization of underaged people is considered normal (by which I’m referring to the central conceit of the ‘high school handsomeness contest’), even that doesn’t excuse the part where the contestants were judged based on secretly taken videos exposing some of their most private moments (does Japan not have any privacy laws!?!?). Overall a muddled and largely unenjoyable experience.
Kowabon
　Mini Review: This was an odd little experience that I honestly found induced more giggles than jump scares, but then, that’s a reaction I tend to have when I feel like horror is trying too hard. I’ve never entirely understood why the Japanese find the idea of a pale-skinned woman so inherently frightening (take Ju-on, for example) although I admit a few of these shorts were genuinely creepy (for some reason the ghost sneaking around in the underground parking garage without the awareness of the security guard was the most effective one for me). The thread that ties all the episodes together is an interesting one, that being that our technology (computers, closed circuit cameras, cell phones etc.) is somehow able to pick up on the supernatural entities around us when those entities are otherwise invisible to the human eye. It’s a terrifying concept in theory—that we might be surrounded be horrifying specters and we just can’t see them unless certain conditions are met—but I didn’t feel like it was very effectively explored in practice, perhaps because of the goofy rotoscoping animation that honestly had me laughing more than frightened. The best parts of the episodes for me were the making-of bits over the ending credits.
Panzer Dragoon
　Mini Review: Another absurd video game-based OVA (see below) that wasted an intriguing premise (seemingly natural enemies, a dragon and a human, teaming up to take on a higher evil) by never really explaining any of what was going on (for example, I didn’t even realize the MFC was blind until the “my sight is back!!” moment at the end). It was fun hearing Onosaka Masaya voice a main character, but I wish it had been a better role where he could at least exercise his comedic chops if nothing else. I also wish Ootsuka Akio had had more of a chance to work with his character, the turncoat dragon, since I always enjoy his voice. The animation of this was nostalgic in an unfortunate way…the backgrounds and objects reminded me of the mid-nineties boom in polygonal game animation (and I think that’s when the Panzer Dragoon game came out, so it makes sense…but does not make for an effective animation style for an OVA). Overall hard to believe that this isn’t another crap Idea Factory OVA…what happened, Production I.G!?
Spectral Force
　Mini Review: Last year during this event I watched three of the other Idea Factory game OVAs, all of which are considered amongst the worst anime ever made. This one honestly bothered me more than the ones I saw last year, largely because this one definitely felt like it was summarizing an expansive video game story with a ton of characters but without taking any time for the viewers to get to know those characters. In particular, the choice of the OVA to mostly focus on Hiro and her party made the humans feel unquestionably like the villains of the piece, and although I couldn’t find much information about the game, I have trouble believing it was that unsubtle about the issue of good and evil. I came out of the OVA with the feeling that Chiffon, in particular, was probably one of the game protagonists (and maybe he and Hiro even end up being allies…?) but the OVA didn’t take enough time exploring that. Between characterization issues, Idea Factory’s typical extremely poor animation and the senseless mashup of what was probably quite a long video game story, this OVA gets a solid 3/10.

　Mini Review: I watched this without knowing there was a prequel. Having said that, I really enjoyed Ninny’s personality. I was very lost for the majority of it; I would start to understand something and then they would talk about something else then I would just get lost again. I feel like if it had more episodes to explain more of what was happening that would have been great. The fight scenes were really cool, the way they are witches with a more modern flair was well done.

　Mini Review: I had a hard time getting into it, it was pretty slow and kind of boring at times. But once Chizuru got introduced, I started to enjoy it and laugh more. Also loved how there was always a cat on screen every episode.
Wan Sheng Jie
　Mini Review: The art style reminded me of a webtoon or a children’s show, which I found really unique and found myself enjoying it. There were times where the animation surprised me because it would all of a sudden get super smooth. Neil is adorable, both his character design and personality, but I was confused whether Neil was the demon king or not (after researching I learned that he is the host of the demon king). Definitely want to watch the other seasons of it!
Handsome Girl
　Mini Review: The amount of music in the beginning surprised me. The romance was a little cliche, which there is nothing wrong with cliches, but I feel it could have been executed better. The characters being teenagers felt too unrealistic; especially Ichiya riding a motorcycle, studying abroad, and dating Aya in 7th grade, with her being still hung up on it (like it was a middle school relationship). It got worse the more I watched, with the over dramatised ending. I didn’t expect much to begin with after seeing the score but woof was it bad.

Also I got confused with Shin and Yankumi’s relationship, is there something going on there or am I imagining things?

　Mini Review: At times the comedy was spot on but there were moments where the humor relied on cliché setups—like when a character says, “I hope this doesn’t happen,” only for it to happen immediately. As I got further into the show, I felt that every character that was introduced was just used for fan service (which I’m not the biggest fan of). It was turning into a harem towards the end. I thought it would continue the idea that she was building her own family but it felt like she got 6 wives by the end of it.

　Mini Review: Found it super funny, and added some much needed context that I didn’t get when watching the sequel. But I still want to see more of the series, I truly love how the characters interact with one another. The battles are also no joke, they always manage to add in something that shocks you.

Sol Bianca: Taiyou no Fune
　Mini Review: Group of female space pirates taking a stowaway home. An indirect journey thats largely pointless outside of some minor character development. Not much to the characters either. Still it as a good watch.
High Score Girl II
　Mini Review: Arcade game nostalgia filled rom-com continues. But a rival makes herself known. Characters are older and getting a better understanding of themselves and those around them. Still as funny as the first and the romance is better.
Amrita no Kyouen
　Mini Review: Some amazing creature designs. Slow pacing and little horror. Way to much symbolism with little substance to the story. Decent overall.
Appleseed Alpha
　Mini Review: Another movie with little substance or character depth. Cyberpunk & post-apoc elements where well done. Otherwise pretty standard fare for this type of movie.

Mugen Shinshi: Bouken Katsugeki-hen
　Mini Review: Overall an average little jaunt through a typical 80's ova. Starts off with no explanation and doest stop. Characters are just there to move along the plot. Which is probably the most interesting thing about the ova, Egyptian mytho's flavoring.
Dinosaur Biyori
　Mini Review: There's not much to say about three dino's sharing a room. Short conversations about random topics and fretting over their looming extinction. It's decent but never really goes anywhere, it's borderline episodic.
Double Circle
　Mini Review: What's there to say, it's just bad. Bad acting, questionable art, weak plot and ending. Shallow characters. And then the whole thing like every other episode comes across like a promo for a city or the concept for a city.
Boku no Oldies wa All Color
　Mini Review: Minimal animation and no dialogue throughout. Some good music for each story told. The romance stories leaned more toward bittersweet than anything. Overall its kinda average.

Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou
　Mini Review: Liked the concept of a town trapped in time. Everyone stuck doing everything the same hoping it would free them is an interesting message to convey. The animation is gorgeous but thats to be expected from MAPPA. Using an outsider to change everyone's perception was well done. And the ending was fairly satisfying given what you learn over the course of the film.

　Mini Review: Pure 90's nonsense, that alone should tell you everything. A story about a reluctant magical girl and her fight with an incompetent evil mastermind. And of course it wouldnt be complete without her one sided romantic love interest. Its a fun stereotypical 90's anime.
Shika no Ou: Yuna to Yakusoku no Tabi
　Mini Review: Very good film however it gives strong Mononoke Hime vibes. The art and animation is really well done. Characters dont have much outside the role they play. Story is pretty straightforward, loved the end bit, that was a nice touch.

Tasogare Out Focus
　Mini Review: This was such a breath of fresh air. I love BL and this was just a nice story, without the toxicity that alot of BL has. I enjoyed the music and the visuals were top notch. What a great story between Mao and Ootomo, loved the pacing of it.
Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon
　Mini Review: This is a weird show. I don't like it, but it was entertaining. The MC was very unlikeable, imo, and it was very cliche, but, i couldnt put it down. I can understand how people did like it, but it was a bit boring too me. I can only do soft cute stuff a little bit at a time and I guess tasogare was the soft. The female Mc really makes me mad, like worse than Shinji, i know its because of her childhood, but its just aggravating.
Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon: Watashi no Shiawase na Katachi
　Mini Review:Totally thought this was gonna be a wedding episode with that dress in the beginning. This short ova wasnt as bad as the whole series, more than one thing happened in the episode. and dang, have they even kissed yet ? I can believe that this gets a second season, but i probably wont watch it, unless it goes supernatural action more.
Zom 100: Zombie ni Naru made ni Shitai 100 no Koto
　Mini Review: Such a catchy opening song. This anime was a bit off my radar, I saw clips of episode 1 and just thought I wouldn't like it. Halfway thru am pleasantly surprised by it, the humor is there but not over the top like Grand Blue. The zombies are fun and not stressful, but when they are the people drama fits it nicely.

　Mini Review: Honestly watched this cause I wanted something short and dubbed, and if it was good I was gonna watch the full show. At first glance the art is interesting and uniquq, but not that entertaining enough. It boiled down to a generic high school romance drama. I feel lied to, twitter and social media made this seem like a sad sports anime and people were crying over it, but its just super generic schlock. Not my cup of tea and im dissappointed.

　Mini Review: Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, she is the one named Sailor Ninny (joke about the sailor moon ringtone for Ninny). This was a great short preq to the ova. I love Tite Kubo works and this one sticks. Loved the little story of how the two got together.
Alice to Zouroku
　Mini Review: I picked this randomly, ended up being one of my favorites so far from this challenge. I thought this was gonna be a slice of life show about a magical girl adjusting to real life, but it ended up being alot more than that. Alice's interactions with Zouroku and others are interesting and a breath of fresh air, its not overly preachy too which is nice. Its not a perfect anime, but i think all its pieces are very nicely fit together and its entertaining enough. The music is amazing and just fits nicely. Overall i gave it a 9/10, enjoyed it throughly.

　Mini Review: Yes, finally getting back to the screaming death metal that made this show iconic. It's really moved away from being a comedy in all honesty, but I don't mind too much. I'm enjoying seeing the relationships between characters evolve, especially Haida. Favorite season so far.

　Mini Review: I get that the art style sets this series apart from others, but I couldn't get into it. Furthermore, I didn't get to admire the scenes much as I was too busy speed-reading, the dialogue was way too fast for me at times and I didn't feel like pausing every few minutes so put up with ignoring the imagery time to time. I found the central story... really boring. Felt really predictable and nothing invested me in the plot, nor was there anything interesting about the characters, they were just kinda there. Teeth Boy gave me hives.

　Mini Review: Kawaiiii, and what a great message! Find those you trust and tell them everything. It's nice to have an anime that doesn't feel like it needs to rush just because it's 12 episodes. We learn so much about Ivy and her motivations, her fears, her likes, and her relationships with those around her. Sora is such a great critter to channel Ivy's thoughts to instead of just talking to herself. A memorable OP and ED round this one out to be one of my easier to recommend anime. I hope I hear of a 2nd season someday.

　Mini Review: How is this not tagged as Gourmet? They clearly tried to make it one, though they also tried to make it an action flick, but also tried to make it a slice of life. All centered around whaling draking. And they didn't do any of these particularly well, but I applaud the effort. I'm also rather disappointed that they hardly touched any lore behind the dragons and how their lives came to be what it is today. The efforts to world build were so rushed and not very satisfying. It was okay but overall not one I'm going to go around recommending to everyone.

　Mini Review: This was adorable, and I admit to tearing up by the end. I didn't anticipate something so short to move me. Watched it with a friend and she was crying at the end holding her cat. The personification felt novel, I found it easy to suspend my disbelief as this little cat narrates his world in a way only a cat would.

　Mini Review: This. Was. So. Slow. I liked the first season, and had started the 2nd season awhile ago with high hopes, but it was so bland that I perpetually held off looking at Part 2 (MAL labels it as Season 2 of the second part...) until I saw it come up for this challenge, otherwise might have never touched it. It's like they gave up on making it a comedy and never committed to making it either a Slice-of-Life or a Fantasy, just kinda shoddily pushed out a little of both. The day-to-day life making situational humor for the cast of otherworldly demons and heroes that made the first season great was just gone, instead they kept pushing this story in the fantasy world that honestly no one really cares about anymore. The change in studio really killed this one.

[✔] Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen | 11 ep
　Mini Review: Black Butler has never been one of my favorites but the other seasons were far more interesting than this one. The mystery was not interesting, almost like an afterthought to the school setting, which in turn really brought my opinion down as I loathe school settings. And these dudes were posh as hell in the worst ways. What stands out to me in this show at large is the dark undertones of everything going on and those felt wholly devoid here, just kinda rushed into a few episodes. Something about it was setting off my "let's procrastinate this one" vibes and sure enough, just a pretty borish excuse to do a school setting in a show that really doesn't need it.

　Mini Review: I much preferred this to the original. They didn't just repeat the story with updated art or graphical style, but reimagined it to take a new view on the source material. I loved how dark and serious the tone was. This is is the kind of dystopian sci-fi I look for in the shows I watch. I also think the 3D CGI style was done very well compared to other similar works I've seen. The faces were very expressive, the action was smooth and they didn't shy away from showing everyone in motion, and that OP was a banger with terrific visuals to accompany the play on words of "Nai" and "Ai", which I know to be "Nothing" and "Love". I am eager for the sequel.

　Mini Review: Pretty, but bland. I don't think I'm into the Idol genre (though this isn't tagged as such, it ought to be): the singer just feels like they can't sing, frets about it, then gets over it and does it. I might have liked this more if they actually sang a few lines but this was devoid of any of that, felt a bit hollow. Especially if they're going to tag it with the Music theme, actually have some music.

　Mini Review: This was painful to watch. Not as bad as Unico but goodness do I not like Japanese kids' movies. Felt like an Alice in Wonderland wannabe, but instead trying to tell the story of Adam and Eve in the garden and the Forbidden Thing. What's the moral? Listen to arbitrary adult strangers who have a vague sense of authority? Slumberland needs a better system of government.

　Mini Review: I liked the action but it was way too short lived, and got more and more simplistic by the end. They didn't spend a lot of time fleshing out most characters either. Like we got plenty of attention to the main character, sure, but the rest were just kinda... there. I did not find his brother to be an interesting dynamic, and the bad guys were so generically "bad guy vampire" it was laughable. No indication why any of these groups even came into existence either which disappointed me, the world building could have really afforded more focus. I was just kinda waiting for it to be over and then that ending was just not satisfying.

　Mini Review: Well that was... something. Having the Shounen tag and no hentai/erotica/ecchi tag has got to be a joke. That said, this was surprisingly human, with a sincere call to your humanity. I couldn't tell who the bad guys were and that's kind of the point, any of us could be demons. I didn't anticipate rating it as highly in the end as I did, but this spoke to me beyond the pale. Still too horny for me to score any higher though.

　Mini Review: Absolutely gorgeous. Which I expected going in but dang. The realism of the rain effects was easily my favorite aspect of this short movie. My one negative is probably the nature of the relationship of the characters, but I recognize that's part of the point, the disparity and taboo nature, and overall I think it was handled very wholesomely. Compared to other Makoto films, this one gave me such an impression of each character's state of mind without even really knowing who they are. Easily recommended.

　Mini Review: I added this to my top 10 favorites. From the very first episode I was hooked by the hypnotic narrator voice just casually depicting this fascinating creature introduced as just an Orb. The evolution of understanding humanity through each encounter as their own awareness grew, I loved how beautifully introspective it was on life and what it means to be human. Each character is given such vitality and personality, you adore them all for their own unique selves, which makes this tragedy all the sharper and a real punch to the gut. It's not easy to make me cry and the finale had me struggling, comparing this Orb's perspectives in episode 20 to those in episode 1. I am eager for season 2.

　Mini Review: Somehow convinced the family to watch this with me on Christmas Day, and early on got nervous it was gonna be a bad pick, as the language was a lot cruder than I anticipated, particularly about the queer community (which ruffled me a touch at first). But as the plot unfolded, with these kookie homeless people inexplicably thrust with the responsibility of caring for a newborn, the humor and wholesomeness started to come through. You really learn who these 3 people are, why they are in the circumstances they're in, and the hope of how they might someday move away from it by the end. This really did come full circle by the end and this quickly became clear why it's considered a classic. My mom chuckled more than I thought she would too which was a nice bonus.

[✔] Pokemon ASMR | 7 ep
　Mini Review: As an Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) connoisseur, was curious if this would be any good. Overall, it wasn't. My thoughts on each of the 7 clips:
- Bulbasaur: Fantastic. Very ambient and induced my ASMR plenty. The grass sounds were especially lovely and I found it very relaxing.
- Piplup: Awful. Loud. No ambience, merely annoyed me. Too many sudden sounds.
- Pikachu: Cute, but bad. "Pika pika" apparently does not trigger my ASMR, who'd have thought? I'd have loved it with just the foot patterings.
- Squirtle: Fine. No name spam. I think that's key to making a Pokemon-themed ASMR video as they can't whisper or talk quietly.
- Charmander: Bad. Not a fan of the fire crackles, visuals by far the most boring.
- Grimer: Eughhhhh, gloopy watery sounds are the worst sort of ASMR for me. Semi terrifying.
- Chespin: Cute, but OMG eating sounds are just as bad for me.

Mini Review: Classic mix of love, humor and adventure expected from a movie in the Spy x Family series. In my opinion, it's probably the best series to watch with family or with kids. The bonny Anya was a marvel to watch, with my kudos to the VA, who performed a stellar role here. The movie completely encapsulated the edge of the seat action expected from Lloyd & Yor, while balancing an above average plotline.

Grimm Kumikyoku
　Mini Review: I was so disappointed by this series. After the first story, I was sure this will be a horror series, but it felt more like Aoi Bungaku, where the quality of stories was all over the place. Cinderella started off promising, but the story progress didn't make much sense, and it was only down hill from there. I think the stories I did enjoy was Hansel and Gretel, seeing the twist that made it slightly more interesting (and was also hinted throughout the episode) and The Elves and the Shoemaker, which provided a different variation of the original fairytale. Anything else was average at best, or boring at worst.
Michiko to Hatchin
　Mini Review: A wild watch is the best way to describe this anime. It has such a different direction from the anime I usually watch, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see this plot in a Western show instead. Not to say that everything was perfect – seeing so many Japanese names instead of ones that fit that story is baffling and distracting, but the story itself is good enough. I liked the interactions between the two main characters and I enjoyed the music, and while the ending was a bit rushed, I think the journey was still fun.
Shoushimin Series
　Mini Review: A seasonal I missed and was happy I could watch, but I set my expectations too high. Since it was written by the same writer as Hyouka, I expected to have a chill mystery anime, and the first cases were definitely ordinary (and sometimes silly) cases. But then the last few episodes came and the ending was so weird? I don’t know if I like it to be honest. The main characters were also just fine for me, couldn’t connect to them with all this talk about being normal.
Tokimeki Tonight
　Mini Review: The synopsis made this anime sound silly, and it definitely delivered. From the beginning, the entire premise sounds funny, but from the second half of the series, it became even better? I was sure it would be all comedy and no progress, but I was wrong. And the characters were also not very likeable at the start, but they grew on me, which I didn’t expect. The art is beautiful in my opinion, really liked to see this European mansion in an old shoujo style, and the opening is still stuck in my head! I though the ending was a bit risqué for the time period, considering the visuals, though.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
　Mini Review: Overall, I liked this anime because it was easy to watch it. I liked how it didn’t always take itself seriously at times, and the art helped to set the atmosphere. I think what really attracted me was the art style, which I found adorable and eye catching. I still have many questions about the plot, so I’m waiting to see if the next season will answer them.
Look Back
　Mini Review: This movie left me with a bittersweet taste after watching it. First of all, I love that despite how short it is, it manages to portray the bond between the girls in a way that really resonated with me. I especially like that younger Fujino feels like an actual child, and not a short adult or something. There is also this touch of melancholy at the end, because life never turns out to be what you expect, but it’s not completely a sad ending.
Princess Principal
　Mini Review: I figured it’d be similar to Spy Classroom, which I thought was bad, but Princess Principal executed its story much better. The cast is smaller and the characters get their development over the episode. The entire vibe and premise are fun, how we immediately thrown into one of their missions, before we get a chance to meet the cast from the beginning. Also, the fact everything happens in London somehow makes it funnier for me.
Shoujo Kakumei Utena
　Mini Review: I’m not sure if I can describe the experience of watching this anime because I still need to digest it. There were definitely things and themes that flew over my head in the first watch. The best parts about this anime are the OST, which definitely shines when it’s time for the fights, and the art style. Besides it, there was some things that confused me, and the pace was a bit too slow in my opinion (so many fights that makes it feel too repetitive). Also, the amounts of incest I didn’t expect to see in this anime were insane...they were so bold about some plot points there...

　Mini Review:
Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru
　Mini Review: Putting off this series was such a mistake, because it’s one of the best sports anime I’ve seen. First of all, having the cast in university instead of high school makes for a more mature cast, and a refreshing change from the usual. I’m always a sucker for the underdogs and I got my fix with most of the team not even exercising regularly. And the best part is...Haiji of course! Besides of him being an awesome character, he’s also voiced by one of my favorite voice actors.
Midori no Hibi
　Mini Review: I know this was rated R+ for nudity, but I really didn’t expect to have so many scenes with boobs like it’s nothing. Also, the premise is just so odd?? Trust Japan to invent something like this. Other than that, I actually really enjoyed the anime. I found myself laughing out loud once, and I’m not a big fan of rom-com usually, but this one was just perfect in my opinion. The characters were likeable and I was rooting for them to end up together.
Sentai Daishikkaku
　Mini Review: This anime started off strongly, but didn’t my hype. I liked the premise, and as someone who’s into sentai, I waited to see how this story is handled. The beginning is definitely fun, but towards the middle of the series – it tries to make us care about characters we didn’t spend enough time with it. I’m also unsure about the direction it’ll take in the second season, so I’m sceptical the rest of the story will be good. I did like the opening, but the ending reminds me of old youtube videos with the dance and the CGI (and it didn’t even fit the song pfft).

Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no Oshigoto
　Mini Review: Such a cute anime! I’m a bit biased when it comes to male idols anime, but this was so fun to watch. The seiyuu list is so stacked and it’s so fun to see Uchiyama Kouki and Shimazaki Nobunaga as the duo. This series follows tropes, but I don’t mind them because they’re executed nicely in here, and I even like how we got like two main arcs. It’s definitely an unrealistic presentation of reality because the adults are way too nice and caring. Like, this is the business world, I don’t think everyone should be so understanding, but suspension of disbelief, I guess. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending, where a certain character was forgiven (and was even presented as the victim for some reason??). This left me with a bitter taste, because it feels like it promotes an unhealthy aspect of the idols industry, and it doesn’t handle it the best with the “happy” vibes of the anime.
Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen 2nd Season
　Mini Review: I was a bit scared to watch the second season of Honzuki, because I felt like it’d turn into show that’s focused more on fantasy, but I’m happy I was proven wrong. Myne is still busy with her shenanigans, and she finally makes progress towards her goal of creating a book. I enjoyed seeing her interacting with her attendants and Ferdinand, and I’m starting to believe that my Honzuki-obsessed friend might’ve been right. Perhaps I should read the light novels too...
Nasu: Andalusia no Natsu
　Mini Review:
[Oshi no Ko] 2nd Season (previously started: 3/13)
　Mini Review: This is, by far, my favorite arc of Oshi no Ko, as someone who read the manga before. I absolutely love the interactions between Kana and Akane during the stage play, and the exploration of Aqua’s character as well. It’s also so cool to see how the stage play was adapted in the manga, and if I have one grievance – it’s that I didn’t get to see Memcho enough this season. Even though I’ve been putting off continuing this series, I definitely have the ending song playing on repeat, it’s just soooo good in my opinion.

Armed Blue Gunvolt
　Mini Review: This was pretty clearly a glorified advertisement for the game, and unfortunately not a very good one. It clearly doesn't have the space for much in the way of story, the characters are immediately forgettable, and the action is unimpressive. I wouldn't be surprised if this eventually fell into OVA scum, although maybe it's just too generic and forgettable to get that low.
Long Zu Episode 0
　Mini Review: As a prologue, this managed to completely unsell me on the main series. It's yet another story that oversells bullying against its dweebish protagonist for cheap sympathy, and badly misfires ; it just feels thoroughly unpleasant. Also I just don't feel any the wiser about the overall premise after this overextended prologue.
Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!
　Mini Review: I have many issues with the BSD franchise as a whole, but one of the key points is that I don't care for the characters much, and that goes double for when they try being "funny". (Dazai in particular is obnoxiously awful on that front.) So a full comedy spin-off was a recipe in pain for me... but at least the episodes were a bit on the shorter front ? It still wasn't fun to watch, though.
Shounen Maid
　Mini Review: This was fortunately more inoffensive than you'd expect out of the story of a creepy uncle taking in a grade-schooler and putting him in frilly outfits. It never gets particularly good, but I guess some of the gags are occasionally funny. And at least it always looks good, with the camera never getting creepy.

Mujaki no Rakuen
　Mini Review: This was just appalling on every level. The "adult dude time travels back to his younger body in school" would already be a skeevy premise for an ecchi show if it was set in high school, let alone primary school. The camera keeps perving on girls that are maybe 10 years old, and the whole thing often turns into softcore porn. Oh, and it's barely animated, as it often struggles with the way-too-detailed manga character designs. Just awful from start to finish.
1001 Nights
　Mini Review: I was expecting something more substantial, i.e. a few proper tales from the 1001 Nights, rather than this arthouse stream-of-consciousness mess. Sure, it's very pretty pictures, but it's just a bunch of random visuals stitched together with no buildup or actual narrative. That makes it very tedious to watch, especially on the few bits with flashing lights, or the numerous self-indulgent shots of naked ladies.
Jashin-chan Dropkick'
　Mini Review: I don't care much for the Jashin-chan series as a whole, as it's a comedy show that's only very occasionally funny, and most of the characters are annoying jerks (especially Jashin herself). This second season is okay enough, although clearly they only had budget for at best 10 episodes and had to resort to a jokey recap for the finale. And that's actually the funniest episode of the lot, mostly because of the part that doesn't involve the regular cast : the absurd melodramatic Yes!/No! segments with irrelevant subtitles.
Jashin-chan Dropkick': Chitose-hen
　Mini Review: It's a beach episode, which means that Jashin actually wears more clothing than she usually does. Aside from that novelty, it's basically the same formula as usual, which again I only find mildly funny at best. Even the fanservice is kinda boring.

Dragon Ball Movie 1: Shen Long no Densetsu
　Mini Review: I guess this is a decent Dragon Ball movie, but not much more. The replacements for the Red Army are much duller, the supporting cast don't get to shine much, and the resolution is very predictable. But mostly it's just very forgettable, especially compared to its much more colourful inspiration.
Suiren no Hito
　Mini Review: This was incredibly dull. On one level it manages to transcribe how boring solitude in old age can be, but that doesn't make it any interesting to watch. Also the old man having a tortoise as a pet was incredibly on-the-nose as a stand-in for self-indulgent slowness. I guess the stop-motion animation is perfectly fine (although with some jarring lighting issues a few times), but there's no overcoming my lack of patience for this kind of story.
Dragon Ball Specials
　Mini Review: This was a bit of a mixed bag. The first episode at least tries to inject its edutainment traffic safety lessons into a plausible side-story for the Dragon Ball cast, and mostly works. The second one doesn't bother, and just has most of the cast as firefighters with no explanation ; the DB characters are a minor coat of paint over a rote fire safety PSA. As a result, the first segment is obviously the much stronger of the two.
Super Kuma-san
　Mini Review: This was a really weird little short. I'm not really sure what it was going for, but a lot of moments were quite entertaining. Also the character designs were fun.

Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru Recap
　Mini Review: Pretty much what you'd expect out of a recap that aired halfway through as a stopgag : it adequately manages to convey the basic plot and some of the most memorable jokes. By nature it's extremely rushed, but it's a decent reminder of what I found enjoyable in the main series. And hey, any occasion to see that great Myth&Roid OP again was welcome.
Tsuritama: Harikitte Contest
　Mini Review: This was a nasty reminder that, for all the series eventually grew on me, I hated the characters and their dynamics. An epilogue entirely revolving around their banter and some extremely boring hijinks thus wasn't a very good time. It doesn't help that this being a picture drama negates the series' core selling point (that it looked very good indeed).
Classroom☆Crisis: Tabi no Haji wa Uwanuri
　Mini Review: I'm baffled by this extra story. It had none of the interesting space tech manufacturing and corporate intrigue of the main show, instead focusing on a bunch of under-developed characters faffing about about on vacation. As a result, it was quite boring, with none of the show's initial appeal.
Mini Sengoku Basara Ni: Tsukiyo no Katakura-kun
　Mini Review: I find the Sengoku Basara franchise almost unbearably naff, what with the stupid character designs that spend most of their time shouting at each other unpleasantly. Those shorts benefit tremendously from the chibi simplified redesigns... but forgot to be actually funny. Or include any kind of worthwhile jokes. The best that can be said is that they're inoffensive.

Aki no Kanade
　Mini Review: Surprisingly well thought out story. It was a fine watch, I don't think there were any holes. It surprisingly provides good story telling for how short it is. It is surprisingly relatable with how a persons dream without parental support can be heartbreaking.
Haikyuu!! Movie: Gomisuteba no Kessen
　Mini Review: Haikyuu has been one of the series I binged, and after finishing the most anticipated arc of the series, I would say this movie is up there as one of my favorite movies. It was fulfilling to watch as it has been one of the arcs that has been building up throughout the series. I would say it did focus more on Kenma but I would say it is also refreshing to watch. I also enjoyed some of the sequence/movement for the animation, I also liked how they did the last point of the match.

　Mini Review: I enjoyed the concept. The pacing was good. Story wise, simple and cozy, something that can be watched without too much stimulation. Just a group of high school students and their love of camping, never thought it would be an enjoyable watch.

Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata
　Mini Review: With the influx of isekai anime for the past couple of years, I wasn't really planning on watching this. That being said, I was not expecting much but to my surprise, it was bearable to watch. I felt the pacing was slow, I had to sporadically finish it. Story didn't offer anything new to me, the plot was something I've already seen other than healing being made as an offensive tool. Romance seemed forced and didn't really get any chemistry or connection to say the least. Some scenes were funny. I wished it was an isekai that I found interesting but unfortunately not.

Loop 7-kaime no Akuyaku Reijou wa, Moto Tekikoku de Jiyuu Kimama na Hanayome Seikatsu wo Mankitsu suru | Previously started: 6 eps
　Mini Review: I started this half way, I don't exactly remember why I stopped watching in the first place. Going back into it, I guess I though it was predictable. Being familiar with the tropes, it didn't offer anything new, especially with the male lead who shows no emotions other than anger and negative self perception and a female lead who knows what to do at every obstacle. Overall, it was an fine watch.

From Partner 1: SourZu

✔ Wind Breaker - 7/10
　Mini Review: I really enjoyed it! Even though I found it disappointing due to its lack of originality and uneven pacing, the animation quality is visually pleasing, especially during the action scenes, which are dynamic and captivating. Τhe series balances intense competitions with some character development (many characters though, including the protagonist are underdeveloped). The themes of friendship, loyalty, and standing up for what you believe in resonate well throughout the series.

✔ Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru - 6/10
　Mini Review: While it has its charming moments and the concept of blending romance with gaming is appealing, I found it to be somewhat lacking overall. The characters, although relatable, felt a bit underdeveloped, and I wished for more depth in their interactions. The humor didn’t always land for me, and some plot points felt predictable and clichéd. It’s an enjoyable watch if you’re looking for something light, but it ultimately didn’t leave a lasting impression.

✔ Mashle - 7/10
　Mini Review: It's is an enjoyable anime that offers a fun mix of humor and action. Occasionally falls into predictable patterns and can feel a bit repetitive but the comedic elements often lands well, resulting in some genuinely funny moments throughout the episodes. I felt like watching Saitama in Hogwarts. Mash is clearly an inspiration to Saitama with similar power and character and, we also have, a very clearly JK Rowling inspired magic school setting with stereotypical shounen elements. The only thing I didn't like is how quickly Yuki falls in love, which can be somewhat jarring. Her immediate attraction to Itsuomi during their first encounter on the train sets a fast pace for their budding romance and it raises questions about the depth of their connection early on. Yuki's fascination with Itsuomi's kindness and worldly knowledge is relatable, yet her rapid shift from indifference to deep interest may feel rushed.

While the story is predictable, as it relies on familiar themes, the combination of beautiful animation and touching music makes it an enjoyable watch.

✔Mask Danshi wa Koishitakunai noni - 6/10
　Mini Review: For a single 30-minute episode is passable, but it leaves much to be desired. The anime adapts only the first volume of the manga i think, i haven't read it though, which results in a narrative that feels incomplete. Even though i usually enjoy BL, it often comes across as more of a fan service than a fully realized story. The pacing is not good, everything unfolds too quickly, making it difficult to engage with the characters and their development. The rushed nature of the plot detracts from the emotional depth and complexity that could have been explored. To truly do justice to the source material and allow for meaningful character growth, I believe the series would have benefited from one or two additional episodes or a full movie not just 30 minutes. This extra time could have provided a more thorough exploration of the story and its characters, resulting in a richer and more satisfying viewing experience.

✔ Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: Don't Stay Gold - 7/10
　Mini Review: It is a visually nice OVA that stands out with the strong character interactions. With a runtime of just 23 minutes, it surprisingly presents a complete narrative without any noticeable gaps, despite its short length. The film tries to explore complex themes such as trauma, emotional scars, and the intricacies of relationships within a yakuza context. The characters are portrayed with some depth, showcasing their struggles and vulnerabilities, which adds richness to the story. While the pacing may feel rapid in terms of relationship development, I think this urgency reflects the intense environment the characters inhabit, however, this might leave some viewers desiring a deeper exploration of their connection.

✔ Kami no Tou: Ouji no Kikan - 6/10
　Mini Review: The second season of Kami no Tou: Ouji no Kikan has faced considerable criticism in comparison to its first season, especially regarding its storytelling, and I share that sentiment. While I found the first season to be very good with its compelling narrative and character arcs, I felt that the sequel fell short in comparison. It is slower-paced and less cohesive also the trials lack the intensity and the suspense that characterized the first season, which was disappointing. There is a noticeable shift in focus away from Bam, the original protagonist, towards a more fragmented cast of characters. This change made it harder to stay invested in the story, as I missed the depth and emotional resonance that characterized the first season. The introduction of new characters was overwhelming, and without enough backstory. Overall, while the first season effectively built a captivating world with strong character dynamics, the second season struggles to maintain that momentum.

✔ Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou - 7/10

　Mini Review: Yasuke presents a visually stunning but narratively flawed interpretation of the legendary African samurai. While the animation by Studio MAPPA is top-notch, showcasing beautifully choreographed fight scenes and a captivating score, the storyline suffers and has quite a few gaps. First, it has pacing issues and a lack of character development. Second, it tries to incorporate completely different genres into the plot. It adds robots, magic, samurai, and intertwines them all with a historical background, which is the first African samurai dating back to around 1579. Yes, I certainly understand that this is a variation and a fictional premise, but it attempts to connect four genres without successfully developing any of them. Overall, Yasuke is an entertaining watch, visually beautiful, but falls short in delivering a compelling story.

✔ Eien no Aselia - 4/10
　Mini Review: Ιts animation style reflects the aesthetic of the mid-2000s, featuring softer colors and sharper character designs that differ from the more polished visuals seen in contemporary anime. The narrative structure is relatively straightforward, focusing on the protagonist's journey to save his sister after both being transported to another world, facing first the challenges of the new realm he finds himself in, which contrasts with the more intricate plots often found in modern series. Unlike many other anime from its era, which often feature intricate plots and deep character exploration, Eien no Aselia opts for a simpler storyline that emphasizes action and adventure over character depth so it provides only a brief background on its characters. Overall, despite its age and simplicity, the anime has a certain charm that resonates with fans of classic visuals. However, this particular style and approach are not among my personal preferences.

✔ Nitaboh - 8/10
　Mini Review: Nitaboh is a classic anime from the 2000s that beautifully captures the essence of Japanese culture through its storytelling. The film's characters are richly developed. The combination of heartfelt character arcs and a nice musical score makes Nitaboh a memorable experience that resonates with audiences long after viewing.

✔ Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo - 7/10
　Mini Review: Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo really caught my attention with its interesting mix of science fiction and character stories. The six episodes give pretty much enough time to explore the characters and their challenges in a futuristic world and it doesn’t leave many gaps; it creates a mystery in the background that adds depth to the plot and offers a historical context. At the same time, it focuses on the main characters' stories as they try to overcome the difficulties they face. It's short, concise and to the point. While some character developments felt a bit quick, I still found the story compelling and kept wanting to see what would happen next. The show does a great job of balancing deep themes and emotional moments without feeling too heavy.

Yami Shibai 13
　Mini Review: Honestly my ability to review Yami Shibai declines with each season, so refer back to the one for s12 below. It's settled into a rhythm again without doing much new and relies on the same type of scares as always. Final episode was the best one, by virtue of doing what it always does at 100 point marks, but sticking to the same particular format is to the detriment of the show honestly. Back down to a 4/10, how the hell has this lasted so long. (PS best image is the one I posted on discord because it really does just have shocked Pikachu face energy.)
Inu-Ou
　Mini Review: OK so it takes a while for the plot to kick in, and when it does it becomes an extremely long rock video based on the shamisen but thankfully for Inu-Ou I bloody love rock music on the shamisen. The cinematography is as great as you would expect from a Masaaki Yuasa work and its enough to carry the entire work. In comparison to the second half I found the first half a lot more boring, unfortunately, dragging it down heavily. This anime is absolutely wild and is definitely on the weirder end of music anime... right along with Ongaku. Highly recommend watching Heike Monogatari before this, 8/10.
Wind Breaker
　Mini Review: Unfortunately disappointing, considering I heard its quite good. It's a lot more style than substance, in the same vein as Demon Slayer. The first arc leads into a tournament arc without the tournament and it drags way too much - the more filler-y episodes which expand on the characters probably would have been better placed before it. The pacing and structure unfortunately mean the very well animated and choreographed fights just don't hit as they should. It is very well-executed outside of the lackluster story, but it drags things down way too much. Also I hate Nirei he's so damn annoying. 6/10.
Sousou no Frieren: ●● no Mahou
　Mini Review: Cute artstyle and definitely feels more high budget for a series of side story shorts than other of this type. Unfortunately that's the saving grace considering that it dilutes the personality of each character to a single attribute and reuses jokes from the main series. At least they discovered presdigitation, 3/10.

Bungou Stray Dogs 5th Season
　Mini Review: BSD5 is an improvement from BSD3's writing imo, as this series has a lot more payoff in comparison for what was setup. The characters are as fun as ever (and having a focus on Ranpo, Dazai and Fukuzawa was great) and so are the ability setups. Helps that I am one to love a good prison break story... even if it is as unhinged as this one. The final villain speech was extremely well constructed, and well, it works amazingly. Very difficult to comment further without spoilers, but its a 9/10 from me.
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2 Picture Drama
　Mini Review: The Code Geass Picture Dramas keep performing the same diabolical act of including the best Suzaku content in all of Code Geass. Not only that, but this one includes a Rolo episode and an epilogue for the school characters... which really should have been included in the main show. They're a lot better than they should be... to the detriment of the show proper. The first set at least only had one episode of importance... but this one has at least 4 I would've preferred in the show itself. 6/10.
Hibike! Euphonium
　Mini Review: Very good drama, and being able to balance the large cast against the personal development of the main characters was executed perfectly. Unfortunately the story structure was way, way too predictable for me so I wasn't invested as much in the plot as the characters. The music was a delight and KyoAni did they KyoAniest here. There were a few points of great emotional depth, particularly relating to the auditions and Kumiko's wish to improve, but I don't think it struck quite as hard as it should have in a others. 8/10 WHY ISN'T IT GAY YOU COWARDS.
Black Lagoon Omake
　Mini Review: These omake feel so bizarre considering the tone of the original series. They're all comedy-centered shorts that are at least funny in places but in general don't really feel like something I would watch normally. 4/10 I've seen worse picture drama type anime.

　Mini Review: Final episode should have belonged to the last season honestly, but in general this was a pretty good season of Yami Shibai. Probably not going to remember anything specific in a few days, never do with it, but I really enjoyed the return of my favourite artstyle from last season. Not only that but a few very different episodes to the usual fare helped break up the monotony of how horror tends to be constructed in Yami Shibai. 5/10, onto the next season.
Seishun Buta Yarou wa Odekake Sister no Yume wo Minai
　Mini Review: Seishun Buta was like Monogatari's much chiller cousin, but this part of the saga is a lot more standard as slice of life/drama goes. However, it is still an extremely well executed slice of life/drama. Kaede's focus and agency being the point of the movie was extremely wise and her scene focusing on her frustrations with Sakuta's reaction was superb. Mai and Uzuki being extremely supportive also helped immensely to just give really good vibes to this entire piece: there isn't an antagonist, but rather an important choice and a coming of age. 8/10.
Go! Go! Ackman
　Mini Review: Definitely can tell this is a Akira Toriyama work from the story structure to the artstyle, even given the short length of the work. Was not expecting the main character to pull out a gun or kill a man, but that's life I guess. Nor the stripper. Honestly this is extremely bizarre, and I have no clue why this was being sold to what was essentially children. Contains both a racial stereotype and what feels like an anti-transgender joke so you know, not the best short I've seen from Toriyama. 3/10 am confused.
Mushoku Tensei II: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu - Shugo Jutsushi Fitz
　Mini Review: The friendship between the two leads in this special will likely form the basis of s2 of Mushoku Tensei, whenever I get around to it. It's a good basis for an episode, especially with just how cool the falling and fight scenes are in this special. The art and music continue to be consistent as does the writing from the first season. 8/10.

"Eiji"
　Mini Review: I don't know what I expected of "Eiji", but it feels more like a coming of age story than a boxing anime... especially since there's barely any boxing. The character designs unfortunately have a bad case of same face syndrome, and it is horrifically average outside of its rather nice score. I enjoyed it well enough but it'll definitely be forgotten sooner rather than later. There's definitely a few questionable parts. Eh, its a 5/10 I guess?
Chiisana Eiyuu: Kani to Tamago to Toumei Ningen
　Mini Review: Wow this is severely unerappreciated: although the first short isn't brilliant, it does feel extremely Ghibli-esque. The whimsical feelings in the first and third shorts are extremely good. In the second short the bond between mother and son is extremely well done and I'm surprised the subject matter has never really been approached in such a way before. It's extremely innovative. And then the third short has some brilliant sequences involving an invisible floating man and the music is spot on for it. This is one of those anthology anime I wish was watched much more than it has been, 8/10.
Kyuujitsu no Warumono-san
　Mini Review: Very cute iyashikei series, extremely chill and really fitted what I wanted to watch this week (Christmas week). Although the characters are a bit one-dimensional and any semblance of plot is secretly (and not so secretly) horrific and shoved into the last few episodes, it works. Reminds me heavily of Cool Doji Danshi in vibes, and I'm hoping there's more anime like it in future. 8/10, panda panda panda panda.

　Mini Review: Nothing really adds up in this anime, and that's given its a horror anime with only 4 episodes to work with. It feels like its going for a Shiki-esque vibe, but it doesn't have the time to build-up suspense and what it does do is extremely poorly executed. It's not good gore horror, it's not good suspense horror, its not good psychological horror. Everything feels incredibly disingenuous from the final episode, and there is way too many confusing exposition dumps that don't feel like they have a real reason to happen. I don't feel like the conclusion follows on from the premise at all. This is ignoring the poor dialogue and awful animation. 2/10 everything falls apart f this.

As the conversation continued, I found it slightly annoying because in the second and third episodes the characters arent even listening to each other. I rather enjoyed episode 4, the cat/dog and the blue hair guy was really funny when they were learning another language.
Prism Magical: Prism Generations!
　Mini Review: The anime centering on Hime's chest as it starts up, increases the cringe level. Yuri is kinda cute, she only wants her chest to grow bigger in the hot spring. I am not fond of Hime because how high and mighty she thinks she is. She gave Raika the option of dying or washing the girl's back blindfolded. Then girls got mad at him for things that isnt really his fault because he blindfolded... (ie.. touching someones chest.. when he cant see) Im not really fond of magical girls animes, this one really the worst of all. The best part of this anime is that its a shorter anime...

Steins;Gate: Soumei Eichi no Cognitive Computing
　Mini Review: Stein Gate doing a cooking episode, that was really cool. Okabe wasnt sure the food was any good, but Shiina can convince him with her sweet words. The panda robot is very sneaky, planning for Okabe and Makise to meet up even tho they told the navigation to keep them away from each other...(haha) The fashion chapter was good seeing Hashida and Okabe in differnt clothes was really nice. The last chapter when they were "looking for a new lab location" and Hashida wanted AC. My thought was they are smart, they could create a solar power AC so the landlord downstairs wouldnt worry about increase in electricity.

Neko Ramen
　Mini Review: The ramen cat making and serving ramen is a silly, he puts in ingredients that cats find yummy. His ramen wasnt any good, the customer had some and didnt like it, but keeps coming back ramen. I thought it was funny that the ramen shop kitty was trying to hire so help, and was willing to pay someone with a glass of milk thinking only cats would be willing to accept. I think the show is kinda funny with the characters and the silly skits. The animation is really cute. Episode 7 was really cool cuz it was a mystery, the episode gave the answers at the end. (haha) Whipping out the premium gold ramen ingredient for the food critic. (lol) I love the opening in episode 12, its the best out of all the opening. How the ramen cat changes the words with his paint brush...The closing is really cute with the stuff ramen cat. Last episode told the story of how the cat became the ramen cat.

　Mini Review: I love Yoshi and the cute animation. How Pochi wanted the strawberry just before he got it, Yoshi stole it... (hehe) I love the blue Yoshi. It was sad for the Pochi to lose the cookies from the two Yoshis. It has funny little skits that make you want to laugh how the Woolly characters interact with each other.... ^_^

　Mini Review: The anime has some comedy in it, some of the dialog is funny. Megumi acts lovey to her bf but violent with her classmates and parents. I dont know what to make with that table that flying around with a face, arms, wings and legs. I dont like how the characters with the big eyes, like megumi their face looks disformed. Sayo is a very creepy acting girl.
Kemono to Chat
　Mini Review: I would like to be able to understand cats, that would be really cool. Its funny that she threw the stick for the cat almost got hit by a car the Chacha wonders if the cat is really a dog. It was funny how the cat loves snow and how his attention span is so short and they do things we least expect. I can imagine cats acting this way, like when you cat jumps on your back when you least expects it or climbs up your pant leg and you feel the claws punture your skin. Cats are funny in their own way, this anime shows you how funny and off the wall they are. Watching this anime, you can listen to the dialog and you can picture your cat or cats in general doing this behavior. (lol) If cats could talk, I believe they would talk just these cats on this anime... =^.^=
Baja no Studio: Baja no Mita Umi
　Mini Review: I love watching Baja no Studio, with the cute introduction of characters and how Baja and Quacky meet and become friends. Now, with Quacky, he's not alone in the studio and he can go on adventures with his friend. Baja learns about the sea from Kana and wishes he could see it too... When Guy sent Quacky away Baja is willing to be brave to journey the black sea to find his friend, even tho he is scared and cant swim. Its cute that Baja is always thinking about whats going on outside the studio. I think its cute that when Baja thinks, you see his imagination taking over.. The character design in the anime were great, but i have trouble seeing the "director" as an adult because she was drawn and her personality is like a child or a young teenager.

Im hoping there will be a second season, wondering if the residents from her village will catch up with her and start trouble with her....but she has good friends to defend her if anything bad would happen to her... Wondering if her family that threw her aside will ever find her...
Ore dake Level Up na Ken: How to Get Stronger
　Mini Review: I like the opening song and the animation was really cool. I feel bad that he had to die or almost die to get stronger and nobody knows what happen. I dont think he could tell anyone, and I dont think anyone would believe him if he tried to tell someone. This anime is really different from the other reincarnated / Isekai type of anime...
One Piece: Araburu Henkaku no Log: Anyaku Suru Kakumeigun!
　Mini Review: It made me tear up when Luffy and his crew was separated by Kuma. Rememebering the show and how Luffy tried to saved his crew, thinking they were gone forever... I love when Luffy, Ace and Sabo were young and how they became brothers with the sake. Silly to think that made them brothers. ^_^ I cried a little when Sabo saw the newpaper and rememebered and then he found Luffy in Dressrosa and it took Luffy a bit to remember him since he had grown up... Luffy is my favorite character and I love the love between the brothers and how they are loyal to each other.
Houkago Shounen Hanako-kun
　Mini Review: The Mokke are cute and sometimes a little demonic. I love that the Mokke want to become one the school's seven wonders and they act like they want to destroy Hanako to get it... The shorts are really cute and I enjoy them....
