Hoping I get matched with someone this year that will actually watch my recommendations. I gave 2 shows in my first Santa gift and 3 in last year's gift all based on things they wanted or already had in PTW and they still have not watched any of them.

I don't know if this is the right thread for feedback, but I don't understand why I can't have a hard requirement that my recommendation be dubbed. It's easy to check, and most popular stuff is dubbed anyway. I really don't want there to be a chance of someone putting thought into a recommendation that there's zero chance I'll watch.

@WestOnAndrewAve I did. But apparently it's not allowed, and my comment was edited with this message:

Unfortunately, Santa's Workshop has become a black company in recent years and the elves are on strike. To reduce the burden on hardworking elves, we have made all dub requests as "nice-to-have" instead of "must-have". This means Santa's Workshop will be able to focus more on trying to find you a match who has good anime compatibility with you, rather than someone who might have a specific dubbed show you haven't seen.

I guess I can understand where they're coming from with that explanation, but it doesn't change the fact that it is not "nice to have". It's not a preference, or I would have listed it in that section in the first place. If I get recommended a series with no dub, I'm not watching it, and that makes the whole thing pointless for both of us.

It's not that big a deal, I guess, because I'm nowhere close to exhausting popular series, and those usually get dubbed as I mentioned before. But even that small chance rubs me the wrong way.

I was interested in maybe elfing, but the message only mentions anime, which I would not be qualified for. Obviously I would expect anime to be most of the work load, but just checking in case manga elves are needed?

@kta_99 Putting it in the nice to have still helps a lot! Most people really try to match the nice to have as much as they can too. I would suggest adding in what language you prefer it dubbed too. I know it seems obvious sometimes, but there are a lot of people from different countries speaking different languages participating so it will help your Santa!

@PUNKARROLA No es ganar un banner, esto es un evento de recomendar anime/manga (o hacer una imagen personalizada). Vas a la página de inscripción y sigues las instrucciones para ver lo que tienes que hacer. A grandes rasgos para la recomendación de anime:
  • Escribes en inglés lo que quieres que te recomienden siguiendo el formato
  • Esperas una o dos semanas a que te asignen a tu amigo invisible
  • Una vez lo tengas, sigues las instrucciones para encontrar uno o más animes que le puedan gustar según lo que pide y lo que veas en su perfil.
  • Escribes un mensaje en inglés (a no ser que sepas con certeza que la persona que te toca habla español) con lo que vas a recomendar y por qué.
  • Nos mandas la carta por el formulario que te enviamos junto al nombre de la persona a quien te toca recomendar.
  • Si vemos que hay algo que corregir (animes que no cumplen con lo que el usuario quiere, no decir por qué recomiendas lo que recomiendas, etc.), te enviamos tu mensaje de vuelta para que lo corrijas. También puedes preguntarnos si tienes dudas, hay sitios habilitados para ello.
  • Una o dos semanas más tarde te llegará un mensaje con una recomendación personalizada de un desconocido.
  • Al cabo de unos días te dirán quién es por si quieres hablar con él.

Una vez hayas hecho todos los pasos correctamente te pondrán el iconito en tu perfil.

Para recomendar manga los pasos son los mismos, mientras que las imágenes son un poco diferentes pero a grandes rasgos el proceso es similar. Cualquiera de los tres eventos te sirven para el icono, pero también puedes apuntarte a todos si te ves con ganas.
