Publishing company Shueisha announced on Thursday that Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's "Oshi no Ko" manga is ending in four chapters on the 50th issue of Young Jump magazine on November 14.

Akasaka and Yokoyari began serializing the manga in Young Jump magazine in April 2020. Shueisha published the 15th volume on July 18 and will release the 16th and final volume on December 18. "Oshi no Ko" has a cumulative 18 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform in April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022 and released the seventh volume on August 20. The eighth volume is planned for a November 19 release.

Shueisha began publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus platform in April 2022. Yen Press licensed the manga in English in July 2022. The seventh volume went on sale on August 20, and the eighth volume is scheduled for a November 19 release.

Doga Kobo produced two television anime seasons which aired in Spring 2023 and Summer 2024. A third season is in production. HIDIVE streamed the anime series with subtitles and an English dub.

"Oshi no Ko" ranked 11th and seventh in the 2021 and 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings. The manga was nominated for the Manga Taisho Award twice in 2021 and 2022 as well as the 46th and 48th Kodansha Manga Awards in the General category in 2022.

Synopsis
Sixteen-year-old Ai Hoshino is a talented and beautiful idol who is adored by her fans. She is the personification of a pure, young maiden. But all that glitters is not gold.

Gorou Amemiya is a countryside gynecologist and a big fan of Ai. So when the pregnant idol shows up at his hospital, he is beyond bewildered. Gorou promises her a safe delivery. Little does he know, an encounter with a mysterious figure would result in his untimely death—or so he thought.

Opening his eyes in the lap of his beloved idol, Gorou finds that he has been reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino—Ai's newborn son! With his world turned upside down, Gorou soon learns that the world of showbiz is paved with thorns, where talent does not always beget success. Will he manage to protect Ai's smile that he loves so much with the help of an eccentric and unexpected ally? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Damn I'm just an anime only. Manga readers please don't spoil but how good is the story at the moment?

I'm surprised there's still 4 chapters left, from the point we're at I'd assume 2 or something.
I'm a little sad that the manga wasn't as good in these last two arcs, but I'll make sure to read it to the end now. There's still a lot of nice moments for the anime to adapt as well, so hyped for that.

No way.. I realized it was nearing its end but already? Four chapters is nothing enough for a proper explanation so I guess the latest chapter is indeed the climax

@irohiro Hah, the cliffhanger in the new chapter was deliberately done to create the illusion of an ending, of course it ends soon.

@ryzxgum It seems Aka drew the right conclusions from complaints about the length of the second half of Kaguya. By the way, he himself publicly criticized the artificial stretching of the plot for the sake of abuse of popularity.

@PapiChulo333 This is a very subjective question, but I would say that it is much more intense than recent anime arcs.

Makes sense after how the latest chapter went.

MHA, JJK, now this, a lot of big names ending this year.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

@PapiChulo333 it depends. Some people disliked the last two story arcs. I personally liked them, especially pre-ultimate one (which was teased at the end of anime S2) and only disliked the first few chapters of the final arc but seems like Aka either changed his mind regarding the plot or was just trolling, so all is fine. Still, we need to see an actual ending to judge it but I am sure some people will be dissatisfied for one reason or another.

I really feel bad for the fans who had certain expectations from Aka Akasaka only to find out that he stopped caring after the content that S1 adapted and also ending it so soon. I hope if he decides to make new manga to satisfy those people.

@Yubisoft I already got it that you are stubborn and love saying controversial things but the best arc was in second season. And Aka definately cares about it way more than about Kaguya or he would have dragged a plot for another 100 chapters.

@Softhenic03 Well, I don't think Aka will have the same problems with this as Gege. The last chapters are so rushed to the end that Aka even started throwing answers to all the questions right in the face. If everything develops logically, then 4 chapters will be enough for a logical ending for all subplots, I think.

Inventing shit out of nowhere still popular these days it seems. Do you have a source other than the shit direction of the manga for the final arc and the chapters before it?

Or are you just trying to mislead anime onlies?

I am so glad to have found [Oshi no Ko] since the premiere of the anime back in Springtime 2023. I am buying all the physical English volumes because this series is right up there in my alley --- it satisfies my intellectual taste. 😄

Not everyone will like this series as much as I do. 😣 But, thank you Aka Akasaka for writing Kaguya-sama and [Oshi no Ko]. My mind is enriched by the vales you taught through these two wonderful series. 😊

Keep going. Keep trudging along. Whatever series you have in mind (as long as it becomes a "hit" like Kaguya-sama and [Oshi no Ko], I will likely follow your works despite my limited time to read manga nowadays. 📚
