Production company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Noriaki Kotoba's Himekishi wa Barbaroi no Yome (The Barbarian's Bride) manga on Friday, revealing a teaser visual (pictured) and teaser promo. The anime series is planned for a 2025 airing.

Kotoba originally began posting the comedy fantasy manga on his Pixiv account in January 2019. Bessatsu Shounen Magazine began serializing the manga in January 2021. Kodansha published the seventh volume on February 8, with the eighth volume scheduled for an October 8 release.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English this May and released the first volume on October 15. The second volume is set to be released on January 14, 2025. Kodansha K Manga service also simulpublishes the manga in English.

Synopsis
"Just kill me!" These are the words of Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest female knight in the West. After being defeated in a war with the East, she has become a prisoner of the barbarians! What awaits the captive Serafina is a life of revenge, torture, and humiliation... or so she thought! What she is offered instead is a marriage to the barbarian king?! An intriguing tale of otherworldly marriage is about to begin! (Source: Kodansha USA)

I hope this series gets a good studio it's got a good artstyle, creative world building and good characters it also unfortunately has a lot of graphic nudity so it's likely to be censored to hell
I'd rather die a free man then live under the rules of idiots

The first reading of the synopsis reminded me of fantasy adventures from the 80s and 90s.

The synopsis sounds interesting, I look forward to it.

For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honour your parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather, address them respectfully.
And be humble with them out of mercy, and pray, “My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.”
(Holy Quran 17:23-24).

I used to love watching this trope of going from enemy to lovers but now we barely get anything like that.
