It'll likely have to be "Blue Flag" for me, but I also really enjoyed "Tetsugaku Letra" and "Okaeri Alice."

"Food Wars!" comes to mind for me. "Food Wars!" is a long running Shounen series setup like Battle Shounen Boner material without any actual type of physical fighting or violent combat. It's primarily one of the main reasons why I am so fond of this franchise.

yeah basically every sports anime I like... haikyuu, kuroko no basuke, diamond no ace, prince of tennis, etc... though I guess sports is some variation of "battling" it out.

I do also love black jack (ova), silver spoon, gugure kokkuri-san, cells at work, and one or two romances like horimiya and komi-san...

I like Saiki K. and that show with the foodgasms. And Death Note, since that's under the shounen umbrella. Though personally I wouldn't believe that was "shounen" if I didn't already know it.

I would include One Piece and Gintama in this too, even though they're technically considered "battle shonen" or "revolves around fighting", but I didn't like those series because of the fights, I like them for the story, comedy, adventure, mystery and friendship.

Slam Dunk” the classic shounen series that focuses on basketball rather than battles or fighting. It is known for its realistic portrayal of basketball, character development, and the intense matches that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Given my interest in sports, especially basketball, and my appreciation for 90s anime visuals, “Slam Dunk” is perfect anime to mention here . The animation style and storytelling are very much in line with the nostalgic feel of 90s.

Detective Conan, kochikame, kindaichi case files,

Also these, but I don't know the demographics for certain

Even though it does have some spectacular battles, Evangelion definitely does not "revolve around fighting". Death Note in second place.

If you want things without even much of a sniff of different kinds of battle, then Azumanga Daioh, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Ika Musume, Nichijou, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

There's many which I've liked but in this case I do have a singular favourite and that is Ace of Diamond. Cause of that anime I've went to couple of trainings of Baseball IRL, tho I quited cause of few stuff, although if I will end up in other city with job ex. Wrocław perhaps I'll have possibility to start again x)

i'd say gintama since it's a mostly a comedy anime with a few action arcs. if that doesn't count, then umineko because i'm pretty sure it was serialized as shounen. and if not that either then it's between slam dunk and kuroko no basket, maybe blue lock as well.

@Scavendgarr Yeah, I would count it as fighting. (Otherwise, I would've been listing "The First Slam Dunk" ten times in a row for my answer - although that movie is a half-and-half of drama and sport, I didn't include it.) Most sports series are the characters battling it out even if it's not through physical fighting (maybe that would explain why "Ashita no Joe" hasn't been mentioned since it's boxing and more closer to that in people's minds). Then, there's stuff like "Food Wars" and "Gintama" which - while they're not typical battle shounen - "Food Wars" is battle shounen-adjacent (people fighting through cooking basically) and "Gintama" really comes to revolve around fighting more than the comedy as it progresses. It's not a "Sket Dance."

Ah well, I can't be bothered to specify that in the question.

@bucciest ah ok no problem. I just kinda disappointed and confused that everyone put something like sports anime and food wars as their answers. I guess nowadays people think that fighting is only when someone punch another directly lmao.
