For Takeda Ayano's latest work about female friendship, it's refreshing that not only are people not arguing about ships, but as far as I've noticed, they're even hoping that it won't involve any romance at all. But I don't know how the anime will affect this.

Why hoping for yuri bait?

@RobertBobert How many chapters was it? your posts makes me feel like I got spoiled by a manga reader

But okay, if you insist, I'll hide it under the cut just in case.

I'm just thinking, since it's the author of Hibike Euphonium, there might be similar subtly suggested themes.

@GrumbleDango Depends on what you call "subtly suggestet themes". If it's fanservice homoeroticism, then Takeda Ayano has a very indirect connection to this, because much of it found its way into Hibike through Naoko Yamada's specific directorial style and KyoAni's decision to turn the franchise with initially targeted female demographic into a smorgasbord of all-female bishoujo moe. This is a completely different work that will be adapted by another studio without regard to KyoAni, so you can hardly count on the similar vibes or style.

Yeah I understand it's different people working on it but Studio Bind is no stranger to fanservice with Onimai and Mushoku Tensei. And there may be an expectation for anime adaptations of this author's work to be similar to past ones. Depends on the direction Bind chooses to go with I guess. That PV was giving a certain kind of yuri vibe though imo, could be wrong though.

@GrumbleDango Without spoiling the plot or presenting my personal feelings as fact, I would say that first of all, what you will find here is Takeda Ayano’s favorite theme of female teenage bonds. I don’t know how the anime will promoted this as a whole through opening/ending themes and direction, keeping in mind Akebi’s adaptation, but how you read or perceive it is up to you. I hope they go further than the current volumes, as the chapters seem quite concise.
