I see lots of forums of people sharing their own thing, but I want to make a huge forum where all kinds of people can post all kinds of art! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) You may show us traditional art, digital art, OC, fanart, etc.. Feel free to share your own writing as well if you feel like it! Please be kind and encourage eachother, it's a forum made out of a genuine love for art ;;w;! Of course, I can't control what people post in this thread, but if you can adhere to that I believe we can create a great environment! Of course, also adhering to the rules of the Creative Corner and website in general. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's creation ┏ (゜ω゜)=👉 |

And I'll start, of course~~ It's my OC AKIRA (Indeed, stylized as all caps AKIRA), who I've been drawing for a very long time. I found an old uncoloured sketch of her from 2018, in which she was wearing a similar outfit, so I wanted to draw her wearing that again. Of course, I redesigned the outfit and finally coloured it while I did! ヾ(o゚ω゚o)ノ゙ |

I think there already is an art megathread but maybe its dead already idk. Well I guess I'll show you my work since you asked :) I drew this today. I was experimenting to see what would be a good muscle level for my character, enough that he looks strong, but not so much that it looks freakish, and of course I want the ladies to be able to enjoy it too (I keep hearing they wanna see the male nipples so I am trying to draw them in these days). Welp, let me know what you think :) (unfortunately I forgot to flip my drawing while I was working on it so the symmetry is sccuffed, but maybe its not too bad? copium) |

@Anjuro It looks great! I love the lighting you did and the painting you did around the muscles looks good too. Indeed, I think it's a good level (°°)~ And well, I wasn't able to find an art megathread.. If there really is one, you could link it here if you'd like. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) Anyways, good work! Thank you for posting! (And symmetry looks good to me ,,w,) |

@mewmewforever Thanks! I think I'll still make improvements if I draw this character more, that's how it is, as you draw them more and more you start to simplify the shapes and figure out the essence of their design. Hmm well this is the thread I was thinking about https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1594022 but it looks like the last post was in May. I don't know if there is a v3 of the thread but I couldn't find it. So I guess this is the art thread for now XD Not that anyone is really posting in the creative corner forums, I made a thread a few weeks ago that didn't even get one reply XD But I know first hand there are a lot of artists in the forums, you might be able to catch them easier in the casual discussion thread, or you could just talk to them directly. Welp, lets see if anyone else decides to post something :) edit: Btw, your drawing was not too bad either. Its a lot harder to draw traditionally than digitally. Props for playing around with the pose a little bit, the line work is really good too. I guess the biggest problem is the perspective, like the leg and the arm looks kinda scuffed I think, but you'll figure it out eventually I'm sure :) |

@Anjuro Yes, definitely, hahaha. It does seem that thread is inactive, so I hope this thread can garner lots of people. I'll see if I can find more artists on here, it'd be nice ~~ (If you have any art friends on here, feel free to direct them here, also!) I usually draw digitally but I've been having lots of fun doing traditional again, like I used to.. I think I consider myself a mixed artist, because both mediums are fun for me. Thank you o(*^▽^*)┛ I'm still working on my perspective, hahaha, I hope I can get better at it soon. I want to make my drawings look more 3D and expressive in the future. Linework is actually one of my favourite parts of drawing, haha, it's way fun, and I love posing too.. Actually, I love every part of drawing hahaha. I'm working on more drawings, one of someone else's OC and one of Ame-chan and Chouten-chan from Needy Girl Overdose. I hope those can be done soon so I can show them here as well! I'd also like to see more of your works if you want to post them ,,w, Your style is very nice. I love that kind of mature (?) drawing style, it's amazing ☆ |

But it also takes so much effort lol XD I'm way too lazy to do it most of the time, I just use my initial scetch and clean it up as I go XD But you shouldn't get too pidgeonholed into lineart, painting can be just as fun. I wonder what the ten stands for? Heaven? Weird to have it in hiragana. Well I guess if it fits the character thats all that matters. You know, my real name is angel so I am something of an internet angel myself :) I'm not going to be transcending humanity anytime soon though XD mewmewforever said: Oh yay! Don't rush yourself because of me though please, hahaha. I'm looking forward to it. Marzu and Katia are pretty-sounding names, what do they mean? Don't worry, I was already working on it, I was probably going to work on it today anyway :) Ehhm well, I don't think they really mean anything lol XD The way I like to name my characters is first I draw them and then I try to think what kind of name would fit them. Sometimes I will just type out the first syllable and see if I can come up with a name that sounds right, other times I might think of a word and try to come up with a name that incorporates that word somehow. In this case Katia is just a regular name, but I thought it fit the character (she is a badass warrior lady). For Marzu I think I had decided that I wanted the name to end with "zu" and I was trying out different combinations, if you must assign it a meaning I guess it sounds a lot like how a Japanese person would say "Mars" but its only a coincidence. The idea for this name was to reflect that the character is a bit of a softie (hence why it starts with a soft sound like M) but you can depend on him when things get serious. That's the kind of vibe I was going for anyway :) |

@Kirika_Madeleine What great drawings! I love them a lot! The first one is probably my favourite, I like all the colours and there's a background and everything. It's really cute. Maxx is a cute character, I love the cape he has. And Kirika looks so cute too, I love the cat! I wanted to watch Noir soon as well.. Good work! ❤️ (Also, it seems we both speak French natively ehe. It's nice to see someone who also speaks it. ;;w;) |

I tried painting with watercolours a bit ago, but it was difficult.. I like the way watercolours look, though, so I'm doing my best to learn them. I usually just use coloured pencils or markers, hahaha. Digitally, I'm trying to strive to a painting style as well.. You'll see, don't worry. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Oh yeah, I have also done a few watercolor experiments, like you said its very hard. Particularly if you mix it with ink like I did it seems to go badly because the ink start to spread when you start working on the watercolours.

I'd be so happy if you could critique my stuff, haha. It'd help a ton. Well, Chouten-chan is spelled 超てんちゃん, which may be a strange name, but I think it fits the character. Kind of like transcending humanity, since she called herself the "internet angel". I like that character a lot.

Hehe, but I am a harsh teacher so best be prepared :) Ah, so its chou as in super? I wonder what the ten stands for? Heaven? Weird to have it in hiragana. Well I guess if it fits the character thats all that matters. You know, my real name is angel so I am something of an internet angel myself :) I'm not going to be transcending humanity anytime soon though XD

Don't worry, I was already working on it, I was probably going to work on it today anyway :)
Ehhm well, I don't think they really mean anything lol XD The way I like to name my characters is first I draw them and then I try to think what kind of name would fit them. That's the kind of vibe I was going for anyway :)
@Anjuro Yes, at first I tried using a coloured ink with watercolour. It bled everywhere. But if I use my regular black pen, it's fine, so no coloured ink for me.. Until I find one that doesn't bleed, at least, hahaha. If you're harsh, it's good, because then I can understand better what to fix. Yes, ten probably stands for heaven. They must have written it in hiragana to make it look cuter, but then making chou in kanji so people don't confuse it as peak like you thought ahaha. Oh, Angel is such a cute name! Probably don't trascend humanity though, hahaha.. (*/ω\*) Ah, that's it! I like that you could convey the personality or essence of a character with the sounds used in their names. My own OC has native Japanese name, so I just use kanji to make my own name ahaha. I like how meaningful a name like that can be. |

Yeah, I really like coming up with a name that fits, its really satisfying :) I was wondering about that, Akira is kind of a strange name for a girl lol, its usually a boys name (Although I have a faint memory of hearing a girl named akira as well). In Japanese especially picking the kanji for a name gives the name a lot of meaning, its onf of the things I really admire about Japanese. Anyway, took a little bit longer than I would have liked, got distracted doing other things, but I finished that drawing I was working on :) Not my finest work but I do kinda like it :) The clothe design was tough, I am still not happy with the outfits to be honest (also I think I messed up the perspective slightly, doesn't quite look right lol), especially Katia's outfit looks really bland haha (I mean she is basically just wearing a bikini XD). But the problem is I don't want to cover anything up, I wanna show the stronk legs, and you gotta have some abs in there, and I mean you can't cover up the boobs don't be crazy XD So really the only area that's left is the arms. Earlier I had given her pauldrons but they looked silly so I removed them. Welp, maybe I should design her some kind of weird sleeve thing that just covers the arms somehow... hmmm... Welp, I guess I'll figure it out. I wonder if you've made any progress on your drawing ? since I took so long I guess I'll post another artwork that I did, this one is a bit older but still fairly recent :) |

I do think it looks cuter that way ;;w; Kanji definitely looks more dignified and adult, so I guess by comparison hiragana looks like it was written by a child or something (well, in theory, because as far as I'm aware Japanese kids learn to write their name as soon as first grade even it uses difficult kanji XD). Katakana is usually used only for foreign or alien names (like an extraterrestrial's name, a robots name, a demons name etc. ). I guess because hiragana is round and katakana is angular maybe that creates an ascociation much like character design does (e.g spikilly designed characters are typically more chaotic and edgy, whereas round characters are more relaxed and chill). I guess ultimately its up to interpretation cause there are many factors :) mewmewforever said: But most names can be used for both genders eeehm I don't think that's really the case, I mean of course you can do it but you are knowingly breaking the "rules" when you give a boys name to a girl, some names are unisex though, like tsubasa for example. mewmewforever said: It comes from 晶 Huh, thats interesting, that kanji usually means crystal, I see it in a lot of games. I checked and apparently it can be read as "Aki" when its used for a name but otherwise it is pretty much always read "shou". You really dug deep with this one huh XD mewmewforever said: also chose the name because it sounds similar to "kira kira", or you could use the nickname "Kira-chan" which i think is way cute Gotcha, I agree its a very cute name :) mewmewforever said: I usually stylized her name to be written as all caps "AKIRA" (even in Japanese writing) because it looks nice I gotta say, that is even weirder than having a girl be named akira lol XD I am trying to think of any other examples where a character has a name that is written in all capital letters, but its really uncommon. Basically all capitals usually means its not the name of a person,I think mechas will sometimes have an all caps name but I can't think of any examples though. Well, if nothing else it is certainly unique, if a little bit on the nose. Honestly If you want to create unique names I think you might want to look into double or triple names, something like "Yan wen li" or "houjou go" comes to mind from the anime I've watched. They can sound quite exotic :) mewmewforever said: It's also because it sounds similar to 起きる that I chose it hmm, very strange XD I'm not sure why you would want a name to sound like "getting up" , but I am sure there is a reason. Maybe because it sounds like the person is cheerful and perky like they just get up in 2 seconds like my dog when I come home? XD mewmewforever said: And she tends to use the suffix -kira to sentences when she gets a bit excited, hahaha.. I think it's cute, at least. The first thing that came to mind when I heard this is this Light Yagami: That's right... I am Kira! AKIRA: kira kira? kinda funny as it also ends up being a pun :) I don't mess around with sentence suffixes but when done right they can be cute. I think its a little bit overbearing for the suffix to be the persons name though, I mean how self centered is this person XD I bet they also do that thing where they refer to themselves in third person XD But some suffixes can really enhance a character, like I love how naotsugu from Log horizon uses the "matsuri" suffix. I assume its derived from 祭り so it can be quite comedic at times, like when someone says something dumb and naotsugu replies "sore ha auto matsuri" XD I just love the idea of an "out festival" where everyone is just getting struck out or something XD mewmewforever said: Oh wow, I'm once again left in awe of the painting. Noooo how could you? XD I can't believe you would betray me like this XD hahaha. I feel like especially this time I really got sloppy and it feels kinda embarassing for you to be zooming into the mess I made XD I usually draw on my tiny laptop screen and rarely do I even zoom when drawing, so honestly for the most part I can't be held responsible for what happens when you look at my drawings at 2x zoom XD But hey, if you liked what you saw maybe its not so bad XD mewmewforever said: Though it is quite the.. revealing outfit (;´д`)ゞ.. I think covering up a little bit will make her more beautiful, but maybe that's just me.. Me explaining why it is necessary for the story that 90% of the skin is uncovered Haha, I mean I don't think you're wrong, I hear ya. At the end of the day its kinda boring as well. But I do think for this character its important to show off some skin, because she is supposed to be this sort of front line fighter, barbarian-tomgirl sort of gal. I think the amount of exposed skin shows off her confidence in her body and its also kinda like a point of pride to show off her battle scars and muscles. Well ten years ago I use to craft art like bookmark of my favorite character this one is only one that is stable and I'm still using it on manga my Madeline Bookmark
I created this bookmark by using old folder.
I created this bookmark by using old folder.
@Kirika_Madeleine I didn't see this, I'm sorry.. TwT I love the bookmark, it's so cute. I actually made my own bookmark too! Just to get a picture... They're based off of Mew Ichigo and Mew Berry since these were made specifically to use in my Tokyo Mew Mew manga ;;w; Check it out! They even have paws to grab onto the page! I'm making more based off the other mews soon once the next volumes finally arrive~~ |

Kanji definitely looks more dignified and adult, so I guess by comparison hiragana looks like it was written by a child or something (well, in theory, because as far as I'm aware Japanese kids learn to write their name as soon as first grade even it uses difficult kanji XD). I guess ultimately its up to interpretation cause there are many factors :)
eeehm I don't think that's really the case, I mean of course you can do it but you are knowingly breaking the "rules" when you give a boys name to a girl, some names are unisex though, like tsubasa for example.
Huh, thats interesting, that kanji usually means crystal, I see it in a lot of games. I checked and apparently it can be read as "Aki" when its used for a name but otherwise it is pretty much always read "shou". You really dug deep with this one huh XD
Gotcha, I agree its a very cute name :)
I gotta say, that is even weirder than having a girl be named akira lol XD I am trying to think of any other examples where a character has a name that is written in all capital letters, but its really uncommon. They can sound quite exotic :)
hmm, very strange XD I'm not sure why you would want a name to sound like "getting up" , but I am sure there is a reason. Maybe because it sounds like the person is cheerful and perky like they just get up in 2 seconds like my dog when I come home? XD
The first thing that came to mind when I heard this is this
Light Yagami: That's right... I am Kira!
AKIRA: kira kira?
kinda funny as it also ends up being a pun :) I don't mess around with sentence suffixes but when done right they can be cute. I think its a little bit overbearing for the suffix to be the persons name though, I mean how self centered is this person XD I bet they also do that thing where they refer to themselves in third person XD
But some suffixes can really enhance a character, like I love how naotsugu from Log horizon uses the "matsuri" suffix. I assume its derived from 祭り so it can be quite comedic at times, like when someone says something dumb and naotsugu replies "sore ha auto matsuri" XD I just love the idea of an "out festival" where everyone is just getting struck out or something XD
Hehe, c'mon, Its not that good O.O But thank you nonetheless, always happy to hear some words of encouragement :)
Noooo how could you? XD I can't believe you would betray me like this XD hahaha. I feel like especially this time I really got sloppy and it feels kinda embarassing for you to be zooming into the mess I made XD I usually draw on my tiny laptop screen and rarely do I even zoom when drawing, so honestly for the most part I can't be held responsible for what happens when you look at my drawings at 2x zoom XD But hey, if you liked what you saw maybe its not so bad XD
Me explaining why it is necessary for the story that 90% of the skin is uncovered
Haha, I mean I don't think you're wrong, I hear ya. But yeah I do think I need to come up with something for her design.

The first thing that came to mind when I heard this is this
Light Yagami: That's right... I am Kira!

Hahaha, she would totally say that. It is pretty funny, isn't it??! Well, of course it's not used in every sentence.. that would get annoying really quickly, but sometimes just throw it in there when she's feeling a lot of emotion. (In the Light Yagami case, maybe she was feeling a great deal of confusion or admiration..? I'm not sure, but she must have been feeling something ,,w,) Maybe it's like Usada Pekora's -peko suffix, but AKIRA's suffix -kira comes rather from kira kira rather than her name. Though it sounds similar. Puns upon puns upon puns with this girl.. Maybe sometimes she does go third-person mode. I think it's cute. Oh.. out festival.. That sounds like a mess. A funny mess, but a mess nonetheless (that rhymed!)

It's just a habit of mine, hahahaha. I do really like it, the messy look I enjoy much more than the super clean style. (Like the style in most idol games..) It feels like it has more life (?). It does look good though, don't worry! ❤︎

Haha, I mean I don't think you're wrong, I hear ya. But yeah I do think I need to come up with something for her design.

The girl in my forum profile pic (also drawn by me) actually wears something like that, Maybe I can draw her and see how you like that :) In her case she is more of a "thinking girl" so she doesn't show off as much skin (well usually, she is also extremely lazy so when she is at home alone she will weat what is most comfortable which is probably not a lot of clothes XD).

Right. A lot of artists have that problem, it seems, not even people who draw or paint.. Other kinds of creators like authors, singers, and dancers as well I think face that issue.

Ah well it happens my motivation also fluctuates a lot. One day I am drawing all night, the next day I can't even pick up the pen XD Welp, I guess you'll get around to it eventually. I do think a little bit of discipline can also be good when it comes to drawing so you are not so reliant on "being in the mood" to draw but of course there's no point to drawing if it makes you unhappy.

For a year I disciplined myself to draw even when I didn't feel like it, and it only resulted in my art block going on longer.. It's only recently once I've started telling myself "You don't have to draw, you can draw later when you want to" that I've started to enjoy creating again. So, I think it's better to wait until I feel like it.

Its the same concept that happens when you sketch something, the initial sketch looks super lively, and then when you clean it up with solid clear lines it can often lose that playfulness and energy it had. Generally speaking it usually means the lineart is just not very good when this happens, the reason the sketch looks so lively is because your brain is sort of imagining the best possible lines out of all the ways you could clean the lines up, so if the lines in the final sketch are not capturing the gesture of the sketch of course the sketch will look better. Of course sometimes a messy style just does look good even without cleanup. @ZelonZane Welcome to the thread, thank you for sharing your beautiful art! ♥ I love the pose and the expression is great too. Good work! The other work you posted is also very lovely, your backgrounds are simple but still look well and I love the little "ddlc" tag you added to Monika ~~ Good eye for detail lovely o(*^▽^*)┛ (Though perhaps next time spoiler the images and/or make them smaller. I usually stick to 500 to 300 height or width when I post something here, you can change it when you import the image. Just to keep the thread less clogged. ^^) |

I see.. I'm someone who prefers to spend a long time on one drawing, I just think it's more fun. Of course, it made me a slower artist but.. I don't mind, hahaha. It's just nice to spend so long on a project and then once it's done you'll be like "Wow! I did it!" It really feels rewarding. Because of that, I really love drawing my characters in scenes but recently I've been doing more "sticker" type things.
And with idol games, I mean like this.
It's from Project Sekai. It's the first one I could think of, though I prefer Project DIVA. hahahaha. Actually, those cards are better than I remember.. I guess the clean style is actually fine ,,w,

hehe, lol not at all, I am truly terrible at drawing backgrounds XD I'll tell ya a little secret, its fairly easy to draw backgrounds that don't have scale. When you start getting into the nitty gritty where the lines have to be parallel or everything looks out of perspective and objects have to be scaled relative to the distance from the camera it starts to get difficult. I really need to practice drawing perspective lines and keeping things consistent (and also how to make interiors look good and stuff) but I am generally much more interested in drawing characters so I rarely do XD

Right, scale.. Drawing things with scale is really difficult, huh??! I'm working on my perspective, because I love drawing background just as much as characters. Though it's a bit intimidating and I don't do it so often.. Well, I prefer the colouring for backgrounds than the actual drawing and sketching part ;;w
mewmewforever said: She's referred to as an "electric angel" created to be the perfect human, so thus.. an angel. Ehm... hehe what? An angel is a perfect human? Ah well thank you, I will be in my ivory tower if you need me XD Nah but seriously, an angel is really just a biblical being (or I guess technically a being that has some connection to heaven, since even in Japanese folklore there exist angels. Did you know that a tengu is apparently the mixture of an angel and a dog? I think that's pretty cool :) I guess thats why they have the long nose XD), they really don't have anything to do with humans XD mewmewforever said: Bonus points if you know the song, it's super popular (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ Haha, I wish I did. The only one that comes to mind is "Zankoku tenshi no teizei" (A cruel angel's thesis) but that's probably not it XD mewmewforever said: I was thinking her wings might be more metallic rather than soft, but I'm not sure yet, so I've been drawing them as a soft texture for now. Metallic wings definitely sounds interesting, especially if they also have like an interesting shape. mewmewforever said: Also, she does not usually wear that clothes. I just felt like drawing her in it, because I love designing new clothes and dressing up my OCs. It's so fun.. Ah, I see. That makes a lot of sense lol XD I do agree its fun, the more attached you are to the character the more fun it becomes :) I do think a school uniform is one of the most boring outfits though XD Unless it really clashes with the characters regular aesthetic, then it can be interesting :) I personally like seeing characters in casual clothing, like you sometimes see in manga covers and stuff. Especially baggy clothes I find really cute for girls :) And of course sometimes you do also wanna see your characters wearing something sexy like a red carpet dress or lingerie :) mewmewforever said: let me know if it's still too "high-schooler-y" Hhmmmm... let me just say, I really like this sketch a lot more than your newer sketch, mostly because it looks more unique. Also, its so clean lol, it straight up almost looks like a vector drawing lol XD Hmm so yeah, By western standards I think it does still look kinda "high-schooler-y" as it were, (since for the most part we don't wear school uniforms in the west, I think XD). By Japanese standards though its obviously a casual outfit and so it doesn't feel like a school uniform. wait a minute... this girl is a catgirl.... I just noticed XD Are you sure these characters are related at all? XD Haha, I expect your next drawing to have the cat ears as well :) In this house we don't censor catgirls :) anyway... I really like the giant ribbon in the back, I think that giant ribbon thing (Its probably not an obi right? I don't actually know what its called) is a super cute aspect of kimonos, it almost makes the girls look like they are a piece of candy or something XD However, You didn't show the giant belt in the front O.O 0/10, literally not candy XD The shirt and skirt are simple but pleasant, I do think they could be a bit more designed though, like for example, by having some kind of asymetrical design, or a pattern or something thatt reflects the character. Right now it looks a little bit too close to a school uniform, particularly when you consider what the character is supposed to be. (But I know, you said the concept didnt exist yet when you drew this so its understandable :)). I do like the asymetrical leg warmers though, very stylish :) On the things I don't like, I think the body shape is very awkward, like looking at it it seems like she has a dummy thick waist, a thin ribcage, and these stubby constant width legs XD I know its a stylized drawing and all, but I just think its not very appealing. Conversely, I think the sketch on the right is very appealing ! Its a chibi drawing and so the chibi proportions and the stubby constant width legs make sense there. I think in the left drawing the legs should probably taper towards the bottom, or alternatively, they should be shorter to fit the chibi aesthetic more. I think maybe you need to take off the clothes and come up with a body design that looks appealing, and then re-add the clothes once that's done. Also, I do think some adjustment is needed with regards to the face. The eyes are way too far apart for example, it doesn't look hideous, but I have to imagine it will look pretty bad from other angles, and one way or another its a bit awkward. Once again, I think you need to think about the head shape a bit without the hair, because right now it looks like her face is actually massive XD I also can't decide if I think the neck is too long... I think its probably fine though... Other than that, I think you did a really good job :) One more thing, please use the thirt color from the right sketch on the left sketch, it looks a lot more lively that way :) You might have to adjust the rest of the colours but I think the end result will be better for it :) mewmewforever said: Both of these are from a year or so ago, my style doesn't look like that anymore.. Hahaha. I'll draw her in her normal outfit again sometime (maybe) ,,,w, Ehhh, well, I think its more like what you like to draw rather than what your style is. I can draw in different styles too, like for example, that boar drawing you could argue was sort of in a chibi style, really all artists can draw in many different styles. I do think as an artist you gradually start to develop a "signature" of how you handle shapes, but its more loose than a style. Anyway, point is, don't make the mistake of thinking "this is my style, and therefore I must draw in this way", you can draw anyway you want, realistic, anime, chibi, noir etc. its more about what you want to draw than anything else :) mewmewforever said: I see.. I'm someone who prefers to spend a long time on one drawing, I just think it's more fun. Don't get me wrong, I do understand this viewpoint as well. It really feels very satsisfying when you pour a lot of effort into a drawing and slowly you start to see the results. At the end of it, every line is considered and meaningful, whereever you look you see polish, it really brings the drawing to life.... But it also takes 10 years XD For me I want to draw manga someday, even it its not the complete manga, maybe a chapter or 2. But of course that means that my drawings need to be efficient, and I need to be able to draw them fast. I think that is its own kind of fun, the ability to think of something and quickly bring it to life in a drawing :) mewmewforever said: Because of that, I really love drawing my characters in scenes but recently I've been doing more "sticker" type things. Totally get that, a character with background just hits different. I am kinda the same lol XD I love the result, but I hate the effort lol XD I also mostly do backgroundless sketches. mewmewforever said: And with idol games, I mean like this. Hmmmm.. yepsss.... I still have no idea XD I mean I guess this is like what I expect from visual novel art, so maybe that is kinda the same thing? Idk. The backgrounds are usually very detailed, but the characters are very stiff somehow, that sort of vibe. I usually play strategy/puzzle games so I don't see this sort of thing too often :) mewmewforever said: Right, scale.. Drawing things with scale is really difficult, huh??! No drawing frightens me... but that thing "looks at drawing with scale", that thing scares me! XD Yes, they are genuinely very difficult, I think landscape concept art especially, where you don't know exactly what you are drawing, are some of the hardest sketches you can do. mewmewforever said: I'm working on my perspective, because I love drawing background just as much as characters. Though it's a bit intimidating and I don't do it so often.. I think its just one of those things where even at 90 years old you will still be working on it XD You get better at it, but there is always more to learn. But yeah, I do wish I was better at it, there are some locations in my story that I literally cannot draw in a satisfying way, and that is kinda frustrating for me XD I do like a background that actually has character and meaning to it. |

I've been dabbling in making some characters for a project that will most likely never manifest but I like experimenting with my designs overall. Here is one I was cooking today. The teeth aren't entirely consistent yet but it will work itself out in time. |

@Kirika_Madeleine I didn't see this, I'm sorry.. TwT I love the bookmark, it's so cute. I actually made my own bookmark too! Just to get a picture...
They're based off of Mew Ichigo and Mew Berry since these were made specifically to use in my Tokyo Mew Mew manga ;;w;
Check it out! They even have paws to grab onto the page!
I'm making more based off the other mews soon once the next volumes finally arrive~~

Did this as a way to try and get back into drawing. It's roughly the way I imagined a folkloric character from my country (Ileana Consanzeana) when I was younger. The only additions outside of that are the basic patterns on her clothes, which I'll do more of once I complete it digitally. Pardon the crustiness of the image, editing it like that makes it easier to do lineart in krita lol |

You can share here if you'd like! Ah, and @Fario-P, I'm not sure if we're friends or not but we've talked before hahaha. Maybe you can show us some sketches! Your style is super cute and lovely.Well there's at least one person who I think might have something to post, that is @JKKH, let's see if I can summon them :) My manz/womanz is a really good artist, way way better than me, but I don't know what they're cooking these days. |
