The official website of the Kaijuu 8-gou (Kaiju No. 8) television anime announced a compilation movie and a special episode titled Hoshina no Kyuujitsu (Hoshina's Day Off) on Monday. The compilation movie and special episode is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters in 2025, and the second season is also scheduled to air that year.

The anime series by Production I.G, adapting Naoya Matsumoto's action sci-fi manga, aired in Spring 2024. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles and dubbed it in multiple languages. The second season was announced on June 29.

Shounen Jump+ began serializing the manga in July 2020. Shueisha published the 13th volume on July 4. Kaijuu 8-gou has a cumulative 15 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2021 and released the tenth volume on June 4. Shueisha's Manga Plus platform also simulpublishes it in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Thai, Indonesian, Russian, and French.

I would like to apologize to the Demon Slayer haters, I now know what it is like to see mid being carried by high production values.

@RobertBobert You will be surprised how popular the manga is in Japan, and now being the anime thats also pretty popular. And as a side not do not read ahead, it is gracefully mid, i stopped reading because of how mid it got, in short terms Kaiju no8 = Demon slayer ( Mid story combined with very good animation) which also equals the animes being better than the manga

@3inPunisher I stopped paying attention to the claim that the anime is better than the manga after people tried to tell me that the Bocchi anime is better than the manga because the manga has no music and "yonkoma is an awkward format."
