LMAO on the mahou shoujo transformation on her new outfit. Definitely enjoying this show because of the various reference, it really is an anime for VTuber fans.

I was assuming taht Hareru was Sora but based from the call in, it seems that she's like Haachama.

ED song for this episode is a "classic" vocaloid song Sweet Magic by Kagamine Rin which a lot of VTubers likes to sing and cover.

Lots of references in this episode: Yugioh, Chaos;Head, Dragon Ball, Yuzusoft, etc. Nekoma and Hareru's appearances also are very similar to Okayu and Subaru.

Wow this show's episode ending kinda the same as Lucky star concept I think.

Well, Chami is a adorable sister for Awayuki.

More and more yuri and ecchi jokes.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

I can't say that VTuber Legend is a great anime. Animation is a bit limited. No serious themes are in evidence. But the direction the story is going tickles my tropes.
edit: And Chami-chan is a real sweety. I hope our MC continues to bring her out of shell.

Welp, Awayuki needs to get a new mic, and thankfully, Chami Yanagase has a spare ready....and what else does she want from her?

Awayuki going to her fellow VTuber's place to get a mic, but it seems that Chami is shyer than she looks, a socially anxious big sister. But for Chami to have StroZero on hand, it's just really pushing her boundaries for allowable streams on the go, even if Chami has a lot to improve on her social awareness, which is a first step thanks to Awayuki. And since they streamed to the night, a sleepover is what Chami anticipates quite a lot since she doesn't have friends come by, with Awayuki being her first.

Awayuki's first stream to celebrate getting monetized while being sober, it's the alcohol that always works each and every time, though she keeps it to a minimum this time. The Mahou Shoujo transformation is great, as Awayuki dons Mashiron's new outfit for requests and call-in sessions with fellow genmates, though Hirune "Hareru" Nekoma is one surprise that Shuwa is not expecting to see.

Hareru's prank is comedic gold lols, it took Awayuki quite a while to figure out. Chami is quite the funny girl!

This episode was very entertaining, filled with numerous video game references, like Dark Souls with special controls and various YuzuSoft games. Awa continues to act more and more lesbian whenever she drinks, but her plan backfired with the top girl of the first generation.
Add Fukkireta (吹っ切れた) to that list as well. Never thought I'd see that NND dance ever again.

Well that was completely unhinged. A sleepover though, now that's a new one, was a fun one to watch for sure.

Laughed so much when I heard the Dark Souls on DDR Pad reference, been a while lol.

So many of the references here are going way over my head sadly, I don't really watch vtubers so much, so no idea really. Still can't wait to see what crazy stuff happens in this show though!

Yuzusoft??? LOL. Someone needs to tell Sakura Miko about this one.

This show at least knows it's target audience, that being VTuber fans. So I'll give them that.

It's realistic enough to EN and JP vtubers but it also still has that anime feel to it. So far a very funny and laid-back show, love it!

This VTuber anime is a treasure trove of layered acting. In real life, a Vtuber is a real person voicing a character, so this anime would have a real seiyuu acting as a character representing a real person, who is acting as a Vtuber character. I'm reminded of Cue!, a series where the main character manages a group of seiyuus. At some point, the meta representation of fiction portraying real life had come full circle, and now we have real life portraying fiction.

One of my favorite things with voice acting is when a voice actor has to voice a character pretending to be another character. I love layered acting where a person has to be at least two different characters at the same time.

What's more interesting is how all these personalities tend to blend together, so where would the line be drawn between these personalities, if at all? In some respects, combining all of one's personalities gives a sense of authenticity, where you're no longer acting, but are just portraying yourself openly. However, a salient reason for separating one's self from the self in the camera is self-preservation: to openly portray yourself means any criticism or attack would impact you personally. To have a separate public mask is to have a layer of protection, where it's not the self that is criticized, but the character in the performance. I'm curious to see how Awayuki Kokorone manages her personal and Vtuber lives. Truly, the gap between Awayuki's real life and Vtuber life, as well as her sober and drunken selves is the crux of the anime.

Then again, it could just be the pattern of Vtubers starting seiso before becoming deranged.

That all aside, I don't know this anime will build off of its chaotic approach. As stated by Mashiro, once Awayuki revealed her unhinged personality, it's difficult to un-unhinge herself, much less change the public perception of her. Currently, the anime has repeated her love of alcohol ad nauseam, so I'm unsure if that's the extent of the gimmick. I'm just worried that in an attempt to garner publicity via blithering vulgarity, the only way to maintain that level of engagement is through increasingly deranged behavior. Will Awayuki chill out, remain the same, become more unhinged, or try something completely different in her course to achieving Vtuber success?

On another note, while such comedic anime aren't strangers to referential humor, I'm pressed at how this Vtuber anime managed to get actual content from other franchises. If this Vtuber has nothing else, it's certainly aiming for a sense of authenticity with the Vtuber streaming experience. I think the thing I'm most impressed about is the actual use of Live2D. I'm not sure if it's easier or harder compared to using a regular static 2D character in place of the Vtuber sprite, but it really does feel like watching a Vtuber stream. In another meta sense, I'm unsure sometimes if I'm watching a Vtuber stream, a Vtuber anime, a Vtuber stream about an anime, or a Vtuber anime with a character streaming. In terms of plot or character, the show isn't particularly remarkable, but I'm nonetheless fascinated by its in-jokes and cultural references. Again, I just hope it doesn't go too overboard, but in a sense, it might be inevitable.
