The official website of the Blue Lock 2nd Season television anime revealed two additional cast members on Monday. The television anime is set to air for 14 episodes starting October 5 at 11:30 p.m. on TV Asahi's IMAnimation programming block.

Satoshi Hino (Haikyuu!!) and Akihisa Wakayama (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) are joining the cast as Oliver Aiku and Shuto Sendou, respectively.

Shintarou Inokawa (Blame!) is directing the television anime at 8bit, with chief director Yuuji Haibara (Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken director). Taku Kishimoto (Bucchigiri?!) is handling the series composition and script. Kenji Tanabe (Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata) is designing the characters, and Jun Murayama (Blue Lock) is composing the music.

Blue Lock adapts Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke Nomura's soccer manga, which began in Weekly Shounen Magazine in August 2018. Kodansha published the 29th volume on May 16, with the 30th volume scheduled to be released on August 16.

Kaneshiro and Kouta Sannomiya began serializing the Blue Lock: Episode Nagi spin-off manga focused on Seishirou Nagi in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in June 2022. Kodansha shipped the fourth volume on April 17, and the fifth volume is scheduled for a July 17 release.

Kodansha USA licensed both the manga and spin-off in January 2021 and October 2023, respectively. The 25th volume of the original manga went on sale on May 7, with the 26th volume set to be released on July 2. The first volume of the spin-off is set to release on October 15.

I'd love more than 14 episodes, but it makes sense because that'll lead to a good stopping point.
