This episode had an uneasy vibe tbh. An inevitable demon invasion...and events behind the scenes.

A bit of a buildup episode though but there's definitely some shady events going around. At least Usato's training paid off and he has allies by his side. His healing skill proved important to help the helpless. They're also making Rose more important again although I'm curious what other roles she'll be involved with this season.

Once again going into the Darkness of Llinger, poor Usato.

Usato and Suzune deliver the news of their safe return from the perilous Darkness of Llinger to King Lloyd. Despite the king's relief at their well-being, he discerns a disquieting aspect in the peculiar appearance of the monsters they encountered. In response, he dispatches Rose to investigate the area further. Rose promptly embarks on a reconnaissance mission only to stumble upon the advancing forces of the Demon Lord's Army, gearing up for an imminent invasion. Meanwhile, Usato pays a visit to the clinic managed by Orga and Ururu, joining them as they respond to an accident at the scene.

Finally, the Demon Lord is making a move, which is both exciting and nerve-wracking. It's exciting because it gives Usato a chance to show off his progress, but nerve-wracking because, well, it's the Demon Lord we're talking about here. Rose is carrying a heavy weight on her shoulders; it seems those guys who died are the reason for her hellish training, all to prevent such tragedy from happening again. It's all starting to make sense now. It seems likely that the red haired girl from the demon army gave Rose that scar, both emotionally and physically, though we haven't seen the eye scar yet, but now it makes sense why she hide her other eye.

This war... it's going to be tough. Usato will definitely need to step up to protect his friends from the dark future he's seen.

Wow, we got a lot of character developments from both main and supporting characters.
I'm thankful they didn't skip them, at least from my pov, this was a wonderful episode.

P.S. Finally a fluffy character. 🥰
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Pretty chill episode, both ships are progressing. Got to know a bit more about Rose past and good to see Usato meet the healer sibling. Who's the kid at the end and how did she show him the future though? Also what does she want from Usato, keeping him in her debt by doing that.

There was lot of anime original content in this episode, but it was handled well imho. After all unless we would get second or third season we might never get to know Roses backstory as it was explained much later.

It seems like this is not gonna be a clean battle as I want it to be. It's undeniably a bloody war. But there may be a future where this can be avoid. Completely? Partially? I can't wait to find out!

So, anyone else got the distinct feeling that the 'cheeky brat' whose supposed death served as the onset of Rose's trauma is the real identity of the Dark Knight?
Also one thing I found peculiar is how Orga and Usato's respective healing was portrayed, with the former being more refined but the latter looking much more powerful, wonder whether there's going to be any practical difference in their application or I'm just overthinking things.

@MegamiRem I might be mistaken, but the way it was phrased in Japanese sounded more like "Since I've gone out of my way to give you insight into this future, you now bear a duty, a massive responsibility to act upon your knowledge and change it, since you're the only I've seen capable of it."
My hypothesis is, she's some kinda oracle who spontaneously receives visions from Powers That Be when she comes into contact with people who stand at the future's crossroads and are capable of influencing it, just a random guess though.

@iThink

I also think that the Black Knight is the one who we already know or the one who those characters in the story know. One of the interesting point is they haven't revealed his seiyuu yet. Which it made me think that if they reveal the seiyuu we will know the real identity of this knight. So, they still kept it in secret.

Well.. we're getting there, the war is close, this episode was pretty different from the previous once, the war was the main focus and I'm really looking forward to it

And Amako also finally made her appearance, she's cute as hell, we'll be seeing her a lot in the future

Not saying it's not true (or right on that matter), but humans can't use dark magic (and demons can't use healing magic) and Dark Knight is said to use dark magic, so that goes against that theory.

Rose really is a strong healer both mentally and physically, and apparently she used to lead a unit of soldiers too. We also got a reason why she covers her right eye and it's because of a battle scar.

With Rose's intense training given to Usato that fox-eared kid knew that Usato is strong enough to influence the future and it does look grim.

How exactly? By giving Rose’s backstory? By informing characters to prepare for the war they’d already been dropping hints at?

@jpexists No, all of that is fine. It's just the tone of the whole thing. Went from he's training hard and there's war coming seriousness to shonen like happy go lucky, we are all friends tee-hee. It just feels off. Chemistry between characters feels misplaced as well.

For whole 6 episodes we've seen other characters sporadically and for short amounts of time only, just so we don't forget they exist. Now all of the sudden we have them act like they are best buddies and everyone keeps telling them how they all love each other so much and how blessed they are. What the hell? To me this just screams cheap trick to make you feel invested because something is happening soon.

Usato and Inukami have gotten so much closer after the cave incident 😩 so cute. Celia wanting a little of that for she and Kazuki is adorable. Baby steps, starting with having Kazuki call her by her first name is a big first move.

Episode feels like the last calm before the brutal storm that’ll be the battle with the demon king’s army. Got to learn about Rose’s backstory and why she’s not willing to fight herself, despite being the strongest in the kingdom, some worldbuilding and characterisation as well.

Episode started lighter, but got progressively darker culminating in that WTF vision that Usato got. Looks like despite all the preparation, everyone is fated to fail and die during this battle. Wasn’t expecting that at all from this type of show. Wonder how Usato will prevent that? He’s got his work cut out for him.

Not sure why some people are complaining about the focus on side characters in these last couple eps. A scene like that last one doesn’t hit hard unless you’re attached to the characters or have a reason to care

This show is getting better and better

@MeanEYE That's not the vibe I got at all. The last few episodes have been dedicated to showing everyone's personalities and their relationships with each other. Now we learn they're all gonna die and only Usato knows and has to feel like he has to stop it.

Was it done intentionally bc the war is coming? Yeah, but it just wasn’t that inorganic to me. Kazuki and Suzune were already decently close before being summoned and have spent the majority of their time together since then. Usato, while not having spent nearly as much time with them, did just spend an entire episode getting closer to Suzune, so that wasn’t too far fetched for me either. Usato’s relationship with Kazuki is probably the most questionable one but then he’s never shown any animosity toward him, and Kazuki has always expressed his guilt for Usato being swept into that world with them so him being worried for both of them made sense in that regard as well. Totally respect that it came off that way for you though

@jpexists just found it forced and on the nose. No sign of them for 5 episodes and then all of the sudden they get inordinate amount of time dedicated to them. It just feels like something is going to happen to them and they are drumming up the feels. It might be that nothing happens and writers simply didn't realize it will look like that. But if something does happen, then it kind of ruins it a bit for me because characters were not developed properly and throughout but instead they used cheap Hollywood tricks. We'll see. Just a hunch am having.

So there is possibility that the dark knight might be one that previously being in the squad that Rose failed to save in previous battle.

if you all notice the flashback of the squad, there is one face that facing backward while others are facing forward. is there a possibility, even though that physique might be different though?

Well I hope that gives Usato to be a uber soldat when the time comes.
I have a feeling when the time comes, no ally of his on the battlefield will die that quickly - it's like his healing AOE will be on while he himself is breaking enemy noses.

I thought that Amako (the fox girl) was some sort of a spy but doesn't seem like it, considering she helped the MC...or maybe she is in some kind of a hostage situation. Anyway, I'm really hyped for the next episode, it seems we will finally start seeing some more action. On a completely different note, that tree throw by Rose was sick!

Holy shit that last scene gave me goosebumps bro like I never thought this isekai was one of those joke shows but I never took this show seriously at the same time until that last scene, death is still a thing is this new world and ppl finna die gruesome ass deaths and that’s why Rose is so adamant on finding a healer who can be strong like her, most likely the demon army ripped them to shreds😧😨

Rose throwing a whole ass tree at the demon army building the bridge reminded me of Thorkell using that tree log in that one episode💀💀💀💀💀

Ururu and her short hair had me on my knees in this episode AND SHES 18 to boot which is nice, it’s nice to get a hot girl character whos not underaged for once but yeah she’s so fine😩

It wasn’t a bad episode by any means but I’m still struggling with just how awful Usato is as the MC. Both Suzu or kazuki could have played that role with Usato as the comic relief. Let’s just be honest. He’s a TERRIBLE mc.. he’s a coward, he’s just now BARELY able to show any emothion towards Suzu at all. He’s coal bucket dumb and it shows with every interaction. Hell, Blurin would be better suited to the role lol.. maybe it’s just me but I just feel like the show should revolve around Suzu with Usato as her side character love interest lol.
