or they need an anime sequel?

the manga has 100 chapters so they can adapt 4 chapters (if its weekly manga) per episode with 24 episodes total that will be fast pace but nothing to rush right?

the manga wasn't complete when the anime started production, so I doubt it will adapt all of the manga

They can’t adapt the whole series properly in 24 episodes, no.

I just finished watching the first episode, I didn't think it was that great, but one (7.0) already says that the anime is good and recommended to watch, despite it being officially said that there will be 24 episodes, right?

oh its a monthly manga then and not a weekly manga so 2.5 chapters per episode makes more sense then

I highly doubt it. its most unlikely but if the pacing is messed up, it might adapt everything.

Judging by what was showed in the opening, they might fasten up the pace (which I hope they don't) and adapt until before the current arc in the manga.

@deg Most likely not, if at the current pacing, it's going to be like Helck.

How many times are you gonna ask the same thing? I already replied to you several times before iirc like this one from the news thread.

the manga is only 100 chapters so roughly 4 chapters per episode is good for 2 cours
Yeah nope, it's a monthly manga with 30+ pages per chapter and a lot of content in most chapters. So unless they rush it a lot I don't think that's happening.

A 12-13 episode anime usually covers 30-40 chapters of a manga. Double that = 60-80 chapters.

Dungeon Meshi has 97 chapters. If you want to cover every chapter, you would need to adapt 4 chapters per episode. First episode covers the first 2 chapters.

Likely, TRIGGER will probably skip some content.

I don't really see a proper ending point past maybe chapter 30ish
. A 13 episode anime could hypothetically adapt that as the ending and finish on a cliffhanger. But we have 24 whole episodes!

@erikkamirs

its a monthly manga so i guess realistically half of the usual 2-4 chapters per anime episode of a weekly manga
so around 2 chapters each episode for 48 episodes total aka 4 cours or 3 chapters per episode for 33 episodes total aka 3 cours

If it was a weekly manga then yes but since it's monthly and the chapter length is big, I doubt one season is enough.

The manga has 102 issues, the anime is 24 episodes and unless it's rushed will probably adapt two issues per episode. The first 24 episodes will most likely cover the first half of the manga.

I don't think so probably need another 24 eps as some of the later chapters where long. maybe a single coure past this 24 eps could do it.

You can't say that about every anime because some manga has 18 pages chapters and some have almost 50.

You people watch too many shonen series and think there's a industry wide standardized formula how to adapt how many pages/chapters per episode... I wrote it somewhere else, but to me, first ep was rushed and chaotic. Manga takes much slower and better pace of showing what's the deal with Marcille being so against the whole concept of eating monsters while dungeon crawling. While in animation, she's somewhat feels a bit like sort of an diva?

If they'll keep this pace, and this is 24 episodes cartoon, it will have at least one full filler episode and another for recap, with smaller recaps every now and than, because they did take 112 tempo for a 96 bpm song to play.

With current pacing, what say manga readers on how "finished" this 24-episode season will be?

@mechian they are slowing down and adapting an average of 2 chapters per episode so the entire anime adaptation needs 48 episodes total aka 4 cours so there will be another season with the final 2 cours more
