The Sneaker Bunko 35th Anniversary Festa! event announced an anime adaptation of Yu Hibari's Tenkou-saki no Seiso Karen na Bishoujo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Ken (Tenkosaki: The Neat and Pretty Girl at My New School Is a Childhood Friend of Mine Who I Thought Was a Boy) light novel on Sunday.

Hibari launched the romantic comedy novel, also abbreviated as Tenbin, on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in June 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the novel through its Sneaker Bunko label in February 2021, featuring illustrations by Shirakomiso (Saikyou Onmyouji no Isekai Tenseiki). The sixth volume went on sale in December 2022.

Kina Oyama began drawing a manga adaptation on the Dra-Dra Flat♭ digital magazine in September 2021. The third volume shipped on April 7.

Introduction
I met my childhood friend again, and she had become a beautiful and innocent girl.

"It's been a while, Hayato."
"Haruki, is it?"

In the past, I used to play in the mud with my childhood friend in the countryside, and when I saw him again, there was no trace of the bratty young man I thought he was back then. Only in front of Hayato, she threw away the coat she was wearing and reacted in the same crass way she did back then. The distance between you and me has not changed. I begin to think that these works are done in one place by the same author. The more I can't understand why they get adapted.

I wonder how long this “Google the top tab on manga resources” selection of adaptations will continue.

@RobertBobert, it is a funny fact, but on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, where the light novels are published, the longer a title, the more chances that it will be adapted into the anime. So we laugh, but authors do it SPECIALLY.

Because such long titles can easily convey the story to potential readers.

Thus, long titles have become a trend to make it easy for people to understand what the story is about and whether they will like it.

Last time, a similar title like this popped up, I was curious and let down big time, lol. If it won't be anything like Osamake, I could give this a shot.

I'm a sucker for these childhood series where they grew up together then get separated and reunite again 10 or 15 years later as adults or teens. Might watch this one, hopefully it turns out good.

Didn’t expect this one to get an anime. I read a bit of the manga back in 2021 but never updated it on MAL. Kinda reminds me of Osamake

Unexpected anime announcement for this one. Hopefully a decent studio will work on it.

At this point I'm convinced that some of these series are ai generated or something. Those have got to be some of the most generic character designs I've ever seen.

@HatsuneYugi39 You can say this about almost any genre, especially those that you are not an enthusiast of.

@Memore

I am currently reading this novel. It is not as AI-generated as some of the high school romance titles. I don’t see any romance as of the chapter I am reading right now.

Male lead, Hayato, is from the countryside farm and struggles to adapt to city life such as not having a smartphone and fascinated by public transport.

Female lead, Haruki, looks like a model student, but in reality, acts like a monkey/gorilla in private, has barely any life skills.

The younger sister, Himeko, is the typical AI-generated little-sister, being spoilt by his older brother.

Treat it as a high school drama story instead of a romcom no9999.

Personally, I will recommend people to read Roshidere instead, because the characters there are more interesting. The only downside is that there might be Russian lines and there is no proper translation when the female lead speaks Russian. :/

@NewestPersonHere, thanks, I will read it. I am Russian, so there is no problem it all about these lines.
