When this was announced and we knew the studio I thought this would be yet another of these conservative remakes that barely have above average animation(like shaman king remake for example) but I am pleasantly surprised to see sakuga here and there in the fights, I honestly didn’t expect it to have good animation at all.
Of course I’m not saying the animation is crazy good or anything like that but it is actually really good and works for me, what do you all think?
Ps: I didn’t watch the original anime but I am enjoying a lot this remake

This is definitely a good remake. Practically 1:1 faithful to the source material and animation has been surprisingly solid considering it's LIDENFILMS we are talking about.
Honestly, the only "disappointing" aspects I think this remake has are the OST and some character re-designs. Just my opinion but I think Kaoru, Aoshi and Megumi looked better in the '96 version. Especially Kaoru.

It’s very good actually. The sano and Shikijo and Kenshin v Aoshi fights had beautiful choreography that really conveyed the full weight of the battle

Yeah, I’m pleasantly surprised too. I think sometimes it’s a bit too “clean” looking if that makes sense

I'm actually loving the animation so much! it's really simple but very high quality and the fights look great

I like the color schemes and lighting, the animation and choreography itself is pretty good but my eyes are trippy so sometimes I think it looks odd when it's just my eyes trolling me.

The animation doesn't do anything extraordinary, yet is is a blast. Specially the sword sequences, they look simple yet intense. It's a very good remake, hope it continues

The designs are based off the original manga ones though. The color pallets had been done way back but never shown inside the manga, but yes in official artwork.
