Use this post to nominate 1 anime song. Read the rules over on the main page and don't forget to upload your track someplace.

All nominations will be closed after 10 tracks are nominated or until next Sunday rolls around. After that, we'll proceed to a voting phase. Feel free to discuss your nomination or other people's picks in this thread.

Theme: Arrangements and Inspirations
This one's kind of hard because there's not a whole lot out there that's easy to find. Still, it's worth trying.

People/places to consider:
Anime House remixes by IOSYS - not stellar, but some are listenable
That inspired-by-Boogiepop album that Kajiura made
Air/Kanon/Clannad remixes
DJ Sharpnel and the like
Josh Agarrado posts piano transcriptions of popular OP/EDs
animeremix.org has some
Plenty of techno/trance/eurobeat stuff too.
And didn't Yoko Ishida have an album of para para mixes of OP/EDs?

Of course, since this one is less-structured, it'll be more of an opportunity to introduce members to other artists and stuff.

It's a shame those remixes of Unlimited Blade Works don't count. =/

Oh man a lot of stuff I could go with, and all of it is so different...

Don't Say Lazy Band Edition - my favorite band edition song~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TBTHwVf2L8
Andrew W.K.'s Soldiers of Sorrow - If no one else nominates this or anything from Gundam Rock, I will absolutely nominate this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gP61DrdKokU
Criss-Cross from the Boogiepop and Others soundtrack - because this may be my only opportunity to nom from this OST and it's one of my favorites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nta62hyZyMo

Those are probably what I'll go for if no one takes them off my hands.

Also, I have to ask - could the Ryuuseigun be considered eligible? A lot of the songgs from it are anime songs, but then a lot also aren't.

As it turns out, this was what I'd been intending to nominate. So this should help your decision.

It's extremely easy to find this stuff IMO... Probably more arranges on Amazon.com mp3 store than actual anime music lol.

I'm not sure if there's a mp3 version of this available, but here goes. It's definitely not the Air/Kanon/Clannad remix you were thinking of.

I'm also not sure if Mashups count for this week, but w/e. There's so much of this stuff out there that I can probably throw a dart and pick up something not entirely crap for another pick.

From http://www.animeremix.org/operationbritish/, which is a pretty nice album. I like the Macross Theme and the Shine in the Storm remixes, but I went for length here.

Haha, I hadn't thought of that one. Awesome choice~

Seeing that nom made me want to nom a Viotex mix, but his stuff is mostly touhou. The only anime one is You from Higurashi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITAjwr4kRW4) which is good but not one of my favorites. If UNOWEN/Eminem was eligible (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61FHqywA_XU), I might have nommed (then again a touhou category is a whooooole different ballgame)

I might nom Don't Say Lazy band vers. it's my favorite one as well.
I was also thinking of some unknowns like the remixes on the Kyouran Kazoku Nikki EDs that were surprisingly good compared to most anisong album remixes.
or maybe the 8bit version of Sorairo Days
or maybe something from the Lain Cyberia Mix album

Is this week particularly focused on stuff that started in anime? Because there's a fair amount of very good music from games that have been adapted into anime. Umineko's (game) soundtrack for example has some fantastic pieces.

What are you talking about?

Song: Sketch Switch
Anime: Hidamari Sketch
Artist: Masaaki Endoh
Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4hq7qWzhr4

For the lols. Was going to use his rendition of Go Tight, but since a song from Sousei no Aquarion was already chosen, I feel "why not"?

Also thinking of using this remix of Motteke Sailor Fuku, since I think it's awesome.

Covers, man. That should be its own week too.

Good point. Covers would be lols and Game OSTs tied to anime would also be an excellent choice.

With covers though, I wonder if I can toss in the Lia version of Tiny Palm since riya's not exactly my favorite when it comes to singing that :3

Also, totally lolling over/approving of the Sketch Switch!

Alternatively if you want to give people strokes, there's a few anime re-arrangements on their 'Wao! Hyper Denpa-chan' album. Like a remix of one of their Penguin Musume pieces and a Momoi-vocal cover of the Negima OP.

Five tracks... well, 6 now. Time to open it up to people who've already submitted since I don't think we'll be filling up from anyone else.

My first pick to make it 6:

Title: Koi no Mikuru Densetsu
Anime: Haruhi
Composer/Arranger: Satoru Kousaki/Shiro Hamaguchi

I'll probably toss up another unless the slots fill up by late afternoon/evening.

Going to be hard to compete with some of the nominations so far. This theme would be a bit incomplete without an Animetal entry.

Well I decided to go for unknown in the end. Not a whole lot of people watched Kyouran Kazoku Nikki. Even less I think actually downloaded all the ED theme singles. Each of which has what sounds like a professionally done remix by various artists. So here I'll introduce you to one of the rather good remixes on one of the singles. They all are pretty decent as long as you can handle the original singer. Epic theramin solo.

Song: Boku was Koushin Saremashita Kirei na ARM mix
Anime: Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
Performer: Hirohashi Ryou
Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?wmczznuyllw

Also a link to the original TV-Size for comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7AN7k2mHdc

I did. Solid show. Enjoyed plenty of the EDs, but not yours, sadly. :P

And if things are open, then
Song: Motteke! Sailor Fuku [Matsuri Mix!]
Anime: Lucky Star
Performer: Hirano Aya, Katou Emiri, Fukuhara Kaori & Endou Aya with epic help from Shiraishi Minoru
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-1nKEhoWk0

A Latin (Samba-like?) beat coupled with the fun stylings of Shiraishi Minoru turns this from an annoying song with and awesome baseline to what I think is a less annoying, more badass rendition of said song with the baseline mostly remained untouched. :P

I couldn't decide which remix I liked best. I ended uploading 3. My original plan was Hirohashi Ryou's. As I was uploading I remembered the one Hanazawa Kana did.

The best ED for me was Rina Satou as Gekka but the remix for it IMO isn't as good as the others. The remix of Hanazawa Kana's is probably the most stripped down version without entirely losing the original song.

I still might change it to Hyouka's.

Edit: I did.
