Had Riza actually died this episode, it would have been a 4 or 5/5. But she didn't. And she kept yapping her gums. So I guess I have no shame. It was disappointing. I feel like they also extended Buccanner's death for no real reason. As I said, I wrote him off two weeks ago, so to see him still live halfway into this one to give a 'cool' speech was really lame. Same for Lin yammering on about loosing Fu, and then being stupid in the way he defended the gate. Lan Fan's grief was the only one that sat well with me. The show's loosing it's momentum.

FFFF!! Why do they always use Riza?! I feel so bad for Roy and Riza, but Riza is just so strong :'D Nothing bad better happen to her >3<

Ah, it was another great episode though. So much action and drama yet again. I felt so bad for Lin and Ran Fan, but at least we got to see Lin's badass side again. I'm glad to see the whole human sacrifice thing getting set into motion, but what happened to Al? Did his armor get transported but not his soul? D:

Dante is simply biding time. Just watch, come episode 63, her master plan will spring into action- force us all to endure an entire filler season before we get to see the actual finale.

...although I suppose whether that's a good thing or bad thing depends on how you look at it, but yes.

Well, this isn't exactly a spoiler, just a "hint" for ppl wondering about Mustang's decision. before he said "Alright" at the end, Riza told him not to do human transmutation, right? So you won't know whether he's agreeing with Riza or the gold tooth doctor.

Watch, once the Gate is opened, Nazis with airships and wearing armor from Otto Von Bismarck's time will come pouring in. Fortunately, they'll be no match for Father.

Pretty good episode :). LingGreed scenes were what stood out for me. I love the switching between the two - it's now gotten to the point that it's really natural. I really loved the touch with Ran Fan's tear smearing over the blood on LingGreed's face. The other scene that gave me chills was definitely when Riza was bleeding to death.

I need to prepare for next week's episode :(....*sighs*..

The only ones that I have seen and done so awesomely for a side character must be the bad guy from Kaiba, and the girl and guy from Gundam 00 at the end of the first season.

HAWWKEYYEEE D:

Dammit, I thought it was improbable that Mustang, Hawkeye, Ed and Winry would all survive to the end, but I can't believe Riza is on the brink of death.

I hope they have a plan though, just praying that that look she had actually meant something, because otherwise he'll be playing right into their hands.

I have to be honest. This episode wasn't as good as the last few have been. Maybe that's precisely the reason. How long can you keep it up anyway.

So Buccaneer's death was a little dragged out. Yes. I did feel a little for him right at the end. Maybe I was just happy to see it finally end. But I guess it's quite right. A big and such a powerful guy like him wouldn't die easily.

Surprise came from Riza. She should have died instantly. Did that soldier really slash her throat? I mean I like her and all but like the good doctor with the golden tooth said, just orders are not enough.

Hohenheim is Father's... :P
A little something from the animators or is it consistent with the manga?

I'm giving it 4/5, in the hopes that the next one brings it back to the awesomesauce territory.

Bradley loses his 'all seeing eye', yet still whopps backside; this is why I love the guy. :p

Hoenheim is such a great character, he takes everything in his stride; "sorry for looking lame".

The old man with the Bradley-esque dolls is apparentley a great medical alchemist; can't he correct his eyes?

I felt like this episode was too short. I'm getting a little worried that they won't be able to cover everything properly now that things are getting close to the end, but if some of the rumours I'm reading are true, maybe it won't be so rushed after all.

Great episode, but not OVER 9000. I gave it a 5/5.

Agree, you know it's setting up for greater stuff in the future, but it was kinda a step down from what it's been working with recently.

Guessing that we're going to have OAV/Movie to finish it off, I just don't see any way to keep the greatness going without it.

For the sacrifices: Hohenheim (made first), Izumi (before Ed and Al did their alchemy training), Ed and Al, Roy'll be the fifth. I thought the doctor was going to be one as well? Weren't they keeping him alive for that?

Something that really bothers me. The Homunculi don't know about Judau, the blind alchemist.

I can buy Izumi being an unknown. She definitely would not be blabbing to people, "oh hey, I don't have TB, I actually cough blood because an evil God took my organs because I wanted my baby back." It really was just dumb luck Bradley happened to be in the neighborhood when Al was kidnapped and he just happened to stay and chat with Izumi long enough to confirm her status as a sacrifice.

But Judau???

In the OVA, Al found out about him just by listening to rumors on the street. And then he blurted it out to Ed in the middle of a busy cafe.

How in the world can the military and Father not have known about this fellow if it's such common knowledge that he did human transmutation?

They skipped the part of the manga where ed goes to southern hq for his assessment and runs into the fuhrer and he and alex follow ed to dublith.

Perhaps they view the OVAs as non-canon episodes, unless the events are specifically mentioned in the series (a la Izumi in Briggs)

It's not that hard people. Blind alchemist doesn't exist in the manga. It was purely created by the producers as a special episode that is completely unattached from the main plot.

^Actually the special is adapted from a chapter Arakawa created, apparently it was in the 'Perfect Guide Book 1', but just as you said it has nothing to do with the main plot. It's just a side story she probably created in her free time. If that had anything to do with the plot it would have been in Brotherhood. So, just forget about!

There is no way the Blind Alchemist is not canon. It further reinforces the concept that human transmutation is impossible because you cannot bring the proper soul back after death. And the other 2 OVAs are canon. And if the rumors about the fourth OVA are true (His Battlefield Once More: how Hughes first met Roy in Ishval), then it will also be canon.

What's up with the rating system? You guys aren't fans anymore, you're fanatics.

This (along with 56-57 eps), has been one of the better episodes lately, so I was going to give it a rating of 4 which would normally stand for "Liked it". But since I found myself in a Troll Cave here, I will make as Trolls do and rate it with 1.

Well, my review for this episode: About time that the protagonists get seriously cornered! Even though Wrath ultimately failed to get the castle back, and what little advance his forces made under his presence, was undone by Greed in mere seconds; he did get some damage done even if that only served to spurr his enemies' determination further. But the real good development is how that gold tooth guy subdued Mustang and his merry band of adventurers, a scene like that was very much needed in this series just to make you agonize just for a little bit over the fate of your favorite heroes.

To make the long story short, this episode re-introduced suspense in this series.

Although, it's hopeless... I don't think Riza will die :(

You know, Goldie-boy also reminded me of something: what's going on at Radio Capital? Last we saw, Maria and Fury, along with Rebecca and a few others, armed only with handguns and rifles, were about to get raided by a massive force of at least 50 men with assault rifles and SMGs. Sam Fisher would hesitate before those kinds of odds.

Excelent episode !! Favourite part: King Bradley and Greed fight! Really really well done, it were just a few punchs and kicks but it gave me chills !!

Ed and Izumi are in big trouble... Can´t wait to see how they will save themselves now....

And I really hope Riza won't die!! I know that there is a high probability that a main character dies in the end of the series, but I really don´t want that to happen !!

And although this episode didn't end with a cliffhanger, everything was left open .... mustang and riza, ed and izumi, and the guys at Radio Capital, not to mention the preview of the next episode... King Bradley will be back!=D
