There are so many similarities between this show and Love Hina. I do like both shows, to be honest. However, I'm finding myself enjoying this show a little bit better.

For Love Hina, it started out with a story but mostly it becomes episodic and some of the events are random and the girls don't really develop and they end up beating up the guy because "Tee-hee" funny.

This show on the other-hand feels a bit grounded and you still have plenty of Ecchi moment but it's mixed with plenty of wholesome moments and everyone are warming up to each other and becoming a family.

Do you see the similarities and what do you think is a better show?

who wins

a show with an actual chad MC, Actually likable Characters and good Character development ?

or

a show with a stupid premise that didn't need to exist for the story to work ( the childhood promise is garbage ), extremely insufferable tsundere, a pathetic MC who gets beaten up all the time ?

For me Love Hina. It does have a central romance plot that develops nicely and I think the story is more wholesome there as the MC actually has just one main crush the entire time and it's obvious from the start who the main heroine is. All the harem tidbits and funny moments are a nice addition to that. And I actually disagree that the girls in Love Hina don't have character developement. Everyone has their own story and problems which the MC helps to resolve, resulting in them getting closer as friends.

Megami no Cafe Terrace is more harem oriented. Everyone has a crush on the MC and it looks more like a competition on who wins him over.

Anyhow both animes feature character developement. Megami no Cafe Terrace is just more slice of life and the girls have more down to earth personal issues in comparison to the supernatural and mysterious nature of Love Hina.

I'll wait for the ending of Megami no Cafe Terrace to actually make my mind up but for now I think Love Hina has the stronger main romance plot. The way it evolves is very nice and it ends really strong in the specials.

As for the likability of the MC, deffinetly Megami because the MC is a freakin' baller in comparison to the timid MC of love Hina.

But we do have to take into account that Love Hina is a more over the top supernatural comedy, than the more slice of life Megami no Cafe Terrace. Also you can really feel those 20 something years that sets these anime apart. 20 years ago, animes were just made different.
