is this any similar to the sci fi series blindsight?

is there any magical elements here or is it actually pure sci fi and the vampires are explained scientifically?

I've never read Blindsight, so I'm only gonna answer the second question:

No magical elements here; the vampires are basically just a different race of humans. They see better in the dark, their skin is more sensitive to sunlight (they don't catch fire or anything), they don't have a sense of taste and they can drink blood (but they don't have to), but the point is that they're basically human.

The events from the story mirror real events from history, but with the vampires (who suffer from intense racism) involved. It's... okay. I enjoyed the first two volumes, didn't really enjoy 3 and 4, and I couldn't get myself to start the 5th one. But I guess it's worth giving a try.
