It's becoming increasingly obvious. And I'm certain Kona creates the monsters from his drawing. If Maru is Tokio and Kona's son, then it might lead to Maru's Fatal Dive, killing what his father made with a similar power maybe ?

I'm also certain the Doctor and Bandage girl (Forgot their name from this era) are Shiro and Mimihime. I pretty much have 0 doubt about that.

Can't people just keep these comments inside their episodic threads?

yeah bro, it is way too creepy for a Disney anime. it's even more creepy when you realise most of the time in the previous episodes, when we see memehime she is standing on the same spot and looking at the ceiling.

I think she is a perfect hibrid of man-eater and human, that is the reason she looks like that. while other children are imperfect hybrids. so they take more on the human side, that might be the reason that they have less power but look more human.
or
maybe she is an alien, as the story teller said it might be a possibility. the photo he showed of the alien, which was taken before the great disaster also look a lot like asura.

Everything's getting clearer but this show is still capable to push another big plot twist down our throats

I guess the main theory right now is that this facility abducted very young childs by tricking their parents with some sort of contracts around 30 years before Maru and Haruko started surviving around a post apocalyptic Japan, ( Tokio being 14 years old and Maru being 15)

They then started doing heavy experiments on their bodies and minds (with the help of the bigass AI controlling the orphanage),resulting on some of them dying from sickness, others gaining supernatural abilities and in one case (Asura) attaining another plane of existence (kinda like the ancients in Stargate)

Now i thought Tokio's skill was that she had the ability to switch genders but it seems she always was a female and she looked very androgynous because they never told these kids about genders, but from her coming to an adolescent age her girly side is starting to show. ( i still wonder why she didn't appear on the camera when infiltrating the babies room, maybe she can turn invisible?)

Maru now being her child that probably got saved from this facility by the women who asked Haruki to become his bodyguard, taking care of him for around 15 years  and then giving him hints to discover where he came from on her deathbed.

Now man eater i think are just the result of the ability Kona gained from the experiments but its still pretty unclear how that's working, he might be the reason the apocalypse started, or it was already there when the orphanage opened.

This story is pretty crazy but kinda cool.

But it was already said in ep 8 when Usami (Shido) said if Hoshino (Mimihime) dies she will transform into monster. So it is clear that hiruko are children from Takahara Academy after their deaths as humans. Moreover after burning Tarao’s body there was left the same „core” as hiruko’s.
I think Kona has kind of an ability to see the future but he isn’t aware of it.

That and I believe that the facility is the one who caused The Great Collapse.

Oh my god, how did I not see this until now? That makes a ton of sense.
