| Generally speaking, no. The Lucky Star 'Initial D' parody ruined all other anime references by being too goated. Other references aren't even close to the heights of that parody and thus feel underwhelming as a result. |

The whole point and purpose of references is to make you feel good about yourself for spotting them. |

| If it's subtle or clever enough to make the joke very funny and deep. For example, when in the relatively recent "my ex is now my sister" anime, the characters discussed the nuances of friendship between two people of the opposite sex while reading the "Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai" volume. |

| Yes but if references to other anime is what an anime has to offer, then no. One of the reasons why I dislike Gintama. |
