Yeah why not.
Yes many studios now are dividing anime into multiple smaller seasons, parts and courses but they still eventually reach more then 24 episodes so I guess in a way anime fans will still be watching more then 24 episodes of a show.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

Yes, length isn’t really a problem for me as long as it’s interesting.

Well I binge watch most my shows... however most of those are usually around twenty five episodes. I did watch Monster and Full Metal, I did take a few breaks with Full Metal as I was watching it with someone else whereas Monster became a nightly ritual of around five to six episodes. I broke Hunter x Hunter up into its arcs. Which ranged a fair bit in size, between the arcs I might have re watched Steins Gate and Madoka, Chimera Ant Arc I think I watched fully before breaking and then returning to finish the series.

It dose depend on the show, but I guess I'd say I usually break stuff up if they pass so many episodes. It is weird as some anime I will watch both season back to back such as with many of the Fate series but that means they usually total up to around 25 episodes.

You must be tripping. Some of the most popular anime are over 100 episodes, such as Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, etc. I put an emphasis on One Piece because it's almost 1000 at this point. So yeah, I think if series were longer anime fans would eat that shit up. I guess with work reforms and tighter budgets anime studios prefer to keep a show short and punchy. I guess it does better in terms of viewer retention also.

Yes easily
There is a reason why one piece still has new fans every season

Well ofcourse, if its anything except One Piece XD. U need extra effort and determination for that.
On a serious note, a lot of new fans generally avoid longer shows due to lack of patience. A friend of mine has the same problem.

Well, Naruto is 220 episodes long and it's the 8th most popular anime on this site. And I myself have completed several shows that are 40+ episodes long.

Of course. There's a lot of anime fans who complain about shows not getting enough seasons, even. Most modern anime don't get more than 24 episodes, though, so people who only watch recent anime probably don't watch anime over 24 episodes simply because the handful of anime that length that air every year don't appeal to them.

Yeah sure, but it depends on the show. I still have flashbacks after watching one piece from the beginning to the newest arc like 4 years ago, wasn't worth it

I've never seen it, heard it's got like 100 episodes of filler, and that scared me off.

It doesn't have that many standalone filler episodes. The biggest issue is that most of one piece is a mix of filler and canon content making it hard to watch. Like, in naruto you can just skip a filler arc, but here you have episodes that use a minimal amount of source material, so you can't just skip them as easily. There's one pace though, so you can try that if you are interested

Agreed as long they have the time and patience as well as motivation to sit through to watch how many episodes it takes to finish said show. I've completed a lot of shows with 24+ episodes, even if they're in parts or seasons/cours.

How is the guy that judges anime based on time-investment not all over this thread already?

I tend to intersperse shorter series while watching long ones so I don't get burned out.

More than 24 ep is where the fun begins
only if it isn't filled with a fight that takes 20 episode or is filled with garbage quality filler( hcaelb ) (read it reverse)

I could talk all day how the average anime fan is unable to watch a long show (well even 12 episdoes they probably couldn't handle) but luckily there is a saving grace which stops me from unloading on this thread, I myself carry all of anime fans by my awesome rating system which proves theres at least 1 anime fan who likes a nice long anime. MYSELF.

yes, I'm actually the reverse of this question. I used to avoid 12/13 episoders because they had a trend of being too short or rushed the ending or "just an outlet to advertise for the manga there will be no season 2"

but honestly finding a gem that's 13 is a treat I love them now. terror in the resonance, dimension w, deca dence and princess principal are great for short binges

Well it's hard to finish some long running shows as i can't find all ep's.
But some how some randoms friends on MaL have finished it, but they can't say where they watch the whole show.
Mystery....
