| After Story is the culmination of everything that happens in season 1. Skipping it would be like reading from the middle of a novel. Who does that? |

| Watching Season 1 is a must to watch if you want to enjoy and immerse in After Story 100%, so it's very worth it. If you go straight to After Story, it would be your loss. |

| I watched both for the same reason as you. In my opinion Clannad is horrible, After story has like 5 good episodes. I do not recommend |

Sunohara's story (eps 3-4) is decent enough but Misae's arc (5-6) and Yukine's arc (7-8) is downright terrible. Easily the worst part of the entire series. |

Sunohara's story (eps 3-4) is decent enough but Misae's arc (5-6) and Yukine's arc (7-8) is downright terrible. There are no bad episodes in the first season. |

ardaljebeli said: 10-14 is Kotomi's story. If you don't like Kotomi's character well... ok... but it makes no sense skipping only the last two episodes of an entire story arc. Same deal with 16-18. They're not filler, but part of main character story arcs.13,14 and 16-18 were basically filler episodes. I don't know if you have rewatched it recently but this show doesn't live up at all for me personally. |

| Yes The characters are so funny It’s childish at times and ridiculous but then it still manages to tug at your heart strings Honestly I get this impression that in it’s time, the people who watched it then still gush over it. Clannad really had a strong impact and like everyone knows clannad (impression from mal) I did shed a tear or 2. I didn’t expect it to make me emotional |

| If you like high school comedy with some drama, yes. One of the funniest and saddest anime imo. |

| Clannad is hard to reccomned because it can be boring at times and because it can be confusing without context from the visual novel. despite this I think it is definitely worth watching. It's one of those shows that can stick with you for years if you let it. |

The average viewer will prefer After Story, but don’t opt out of what could be (depending on your personality) a wonderful experience. And definitely skip the episodes epidemia78 mentioned, he knows what’s up. |

| After Story is infinitely better, but first series is also quite decent. It's obvious, that it's a VN adaptations and it's still kinda generic harem, but it's one of the better ones. You still need to watch it to fully understand who those characters are and where they come from. |

| It was alright, I really like that they did a Kyou After Story Spinoff OVA, she was my favourite character (played her arc in the game, so this OVA was a nice thing to see) 😎👍 |
